My wife has the same laptop and the screen is fine but the cable must be bad because I have to tilt the screen back and forth a zillion times until if works. I'm tech savvy to a point, I custom built 2 gaming pc's that work great but I have limited laptop knowledge lol. I subscribed because you are so good at explaining the details. My question is how and where do I order a replacement cable and possibly the screws I stripped when I upgraded the hard drive, or could the cable plug just be loose? Thanks!
Umm well I have a question, I have the same computer and the problem is that the bottom pieces that make the screen stand kinda broke now the screen doesn't stand but still works fine, so my question is if I want to fix it do I have to change the whole screen or is there a way to change just the pieces that are broken?
Thanks to Best Guy Eggheads I have the t screws and they are stripped. My problem is how do I separate the bottom shell? Is it normally held together really well? It’s like I’m gonna have to pry it to break it apart .
Other than the video, I'm not sure what to tell you. I show the entire process. Not sure what else you want me to tell in text. If the screws are all stripped, you'll need this. amzn.to/3WwF8kU
Good question: do both fans have to work (spin) in order for the laptop to fully turn on? Have a N550-JV, but it's not complete! Ok no HDD, so no OS, no bottom cover, half the keys are missing, no battery, etc... Have a 4gb RAM card. have a suitable charger (not original but it fits) so, when the laptop is plugged in, & turned on, the power button lights up, the "plugged in" light (on the front edge) comes on, & one fan spins - the 2nd fan needs serious cleaning, but doesn't spin. There is no screen activity (no basic info) even with the screen connected & RAM card mounted. The laptop itself might be dead, but it was a tossed out one from a neighbor so I got it for free! Thank you 🤓 also if the original screen may not work, can you connect an external monitor to see if there is any m/b activity? Thank you 🤓
@@ItsBinhRepaired yeah, sort of think the m/b. Also not sure if the touch screen is there, as after watching your videos, it might be missing! I thought the digitizer & LCD were as one unit! Not separate!
the black plastic around the display and hold the display with the 2 screws at 9:40, can you tell me what that is called. Mine is broken, I need to replace it
@@ItsBinhRepaired mine is broken and ive doubt to get new one to replace so i hooked up N550 to exterbal monitor, and im deciding to get rid of its screen
Thank you so much for your efforts! Your video helped me upgrading my N550J

Check if it's loose first. Make sure to do the power drain first.
@@ItsBinhRepaired
Thanks for the power drain reminder I would have forgotten that lol.
Hope the repair went well
@@ItsBinhRepaired
I solved the problem by buying an external monitor and wireless keyboard mouse combo.

Depends how it broke. Might be something like this ua-cam.com/video/pHIPpVomqoI/v-deo.html

@@ItsBinhRepaired thanks. One was stripped and I got all the others loose. Appreciate the fast response. Very helpful.
Yup

Both fans don't need to work. An external screen could work. Could be bad RAM or dead motherboard.

Interesting
Did this resolve the display problem.
Yeah, had to replace the screen.
Great video!

No problem
Where cwn i put the anthena if im totaly removing the screen panel?
Hm?

Ohhh you're removing it completely? You can stick it on the outer case or find a place inside. Just don't short out the motherboard.
@@ItsBinhRepaired yeap that what i was thinking of about safety measure and where to put it
@@ItsBinhRepaired what if i remove optical drive and use its space of the anthena? Whats yr thought on this?
is this laptop still useful in 2022?
Sure, why not?
