I don't know much about how this will work without seeing it in the water working , but I'm pretty mechanically inclined and I was wondering if instead of cutting the lid in half with hinges in the middle so that a full half of the lid opens , could you just cut a 2 foot square door out of the top. I'm assuming you will be netting the fish out of this bait box , so the hole would just have to be bigger than the net , but the door might not be as heavy and cumbersome as lifting half of the lid every time you want to open it . That looked like a worm drive saw which tells me your dad is no joke when it comes to buying tools , so I'm sure he knows how to do a plunge cut . Just an idea and me trying to be helpful . Love your channel and can't wait to see your boat . Maybe show us some teaser videos of some of the progress
