This is such a great video! It made me smile at least 30 times and i never got bored! I hope you'll get more subs soon, you're so worth it. Keep up the good work! ;)
You make me smile by watching this video! I am really happy you enjoyed this video! I put my heart and soul to it so it makes me very happy to know that somebody liked it! You motivate me to do more videos! Again thanks for watching it and I am really lucky to have people watching my videos like you!
If you plan on making a full board and want to keep the flap count at 36, I recommend removing the 0 and using the O instead, so now you have a blank space
Awesome. I remember huge panels of these at British railways stations in London like Waterloo when I was a kid in the 70s and 80s. You can't beat the sound of 24 platforms of split flap signs all updating in a wave from left to right. Such a cool technology I'd love to have a crack at building one..... Thanks so much
We need to get you more subs! I absolutely loved the video and instantly subscribed, your style reminds me of Integza and it was super entertaining! Have you gone as far as making a full display board out of this, because I am looking at building a multi line display board for my house and would love to see how if you had any ideas on how to drive a larger board, say 8x36 in size.
Thank You!!!!!! Yes in this video I was inspired by the video and editing style from Integza so it's amazing that You noticed that! And for the bigger board I think it will be a nice challenge and I think it would require a arduino mega or using a raspberry as for controlling with mouse. So thank You again! And i'm sorry for a late reply
NICE! Now how do I put 5 of them together with just numbers and hieroglyphics to recreate the countdown timer from Lost? I already have the computer for it!
Damn that would be cooooool! Well to recreate that there has to be some remodeling done xd but nothing too shaby! If you want to talk about it more come to my dc server! And thanks for watching my video!!!!!
I loved the sound of the whole display changing when these updated. So disappointed when the display got "updated" to big LEDs in Edinburgh Waverley. EDITed for clarity.
I'm kinda obsessed with make one of this, I know about code but anything else I'm screwed. There is some way to put the motor inside of all the mechanism? I think it would be so aesthetic
Hey! First of all thanks for watching my video! So yes most likely there is a eay to put the motor inside the spool but i did not think of that when i was making this xd And yes it would look much better and it would be pisible to stack them one near the other. So maybe in the future I will make an improved version of this
about the letters, couldnt they be 3D printed directly? Print the base of the flaps in white, and then change the filament and print 1 layer in black...
That's what I'm thinking. you would need a printer that can do color changes though. Another way could be to make the letters raised against the background and then use a stamp or sharpie.

I was commissioned to code a digital split flap and watching this video, the whole project is coming together in my mind

In Germany some train stations even had single displays with full destination names. So not just one display per letter.
I wonder do they still use Solari boards?
Nice project. This video is very well explained. And the comical additions are great! Thank you.
man you made me laugh a couple of times, keep it up, u r great :D:D
great content
Keep doing such a fun filled awesome knowledgable video 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Very underrated channel, great work, keep it up and your channel will grow my friend

I love it I was thinking of building one for my girlfriend and your tips are super helpful!
Great Video mate. I might actually try to this myself, but unfortunatly a can not code, so I'm not so sure about that.
Anyways keep it, great video
Is there any way you could modify the spool and firmware to include more tiles?
I loved the sound of the whole display changing when these updated.

EDITed for clarity.
Thanks a lot for all this stuff, I am starting making my flip clock tomorrow !
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching and later tell me how did it go with making a split flap
@@Audas101 Will do, mine will be make from paper and with much smaller servos to reduce the amount of noise it makes every minute it flips.
That's a very good idea and if you ever make a video out of it or something like that, write the link to it in here and I would gladly watch it!
wow this is really cool! might make my own version sometime
Are you going to do a video of a full board? And can I pay you for this? I’ve always wanted a vesta board but I’m poor 😂😂
How are you assembling the parts? I printed the cover and base, but there does not seem to be any snapping. Did you super glue them?
I rewatched the video and on 4:17 you say super glue them. thanks
Thanks for watching the video! Yes i superglued them. Tho in hindsight I think I should have made a locking mechanism.
I would love to learn this. Sadly I have no skills. I'm picking up a basic arduino kit for beginners! This is very cool
Hey, if you've got the desire to learn then that's the only skill you'll truly ever need!

@@Audas101 did you ever make one?
Hey, I haven't yet :(
Why not use a switch and cam instead of a magnet and Hall effect sensor?
where did you get the stickers I want to use the same font for mine
great work. and good lucky greetings to your sticky fingers!
I want one of these so bad.
That is exactly the reason why I made one myself because it's SOOOO COOOL! And I am very happy that I can share this project with you!
part 2 when? :3

@@aidenfindley8565 Almost printers support mid print filament change using the M600 code. You just need to manually change the filament each time
Great great project man!
I am very glad to hear that, so thanks for watching!
Please can you tell me how many displays can run at once the arduino uno ?
nice project! :)
Nice...👍👍
Great video
Thank You!
Cool
Wow😊
You forget about blank one
Yeaaah i realy did, and only after making last steps I thought of that, but it was a bit late xd but maybe in the future I will remake it better
Hindi flip clock or a flip book stop motion film
That's actualy a very nice idea
Latin Alphabet + Arabic Numbers
Yes indeed it is. And thank You for watching!
69 like. Should I press like?
Did you just copied this (scottbez1) guy's idea ua-cam.com/video/UAQJJAQSg_g/v-deo.html without mentioning him at all?
Hey, I saw his video which was very good, but didn't copy anything, I designed and programmed everything myself.
@william1729, just put a line in the 0
