Thus the Patrangers have no actual legal basis to go after them and are just persecuting them for their motif. So my question of this is, is this acurate?
Not accurate. The Lupinrangers aren’t legally contracted to take the collection, they were asked to. As far as the Patrangers are concerned at first, the Lupins are in their way and can be seen as vigilantes working outside the law. Plus, being labeled as the thieves everybody is talking about, is probably not helping the Lupins case.

Hilltop’s actor might have gone mr beast or logan paul on his variety comedy show. He made a very long apology on his Twitter last year. A lot of fans didn’t care because he speaks English in sentai and is still a good representation for western toku fans.
LuPat is among the top of my favorite Toku series, the story, while messy at plenty of points, gave us enjoyable characters and a great finale. I like the ambiguity of siding with "thieves" and policemen siding with each other for the good of the common people, to actually save civilians while getting rid of one true enemy. A series that I revisit from time to time. Might not be the cup of tea of everyone, but it's mine and I guess that's all it matters. I will still encourage people to watch LuPat all the time.
I have a theory.not based on rumors just a thought I think the sentai was gonna just be about the lupinrangers...BUT toei in fear parents wouldnt like a show glorifying thieves as heroes even if they have some good moral of the day moments, balanced it out by having a sentai cop team to balance it out...unfortunately the writers who already had the lupin thought out more kinda neglected the patrangers Again, just a personal theory
I mean even if that is the case Lupin the Third anime did the same with Zenigata (at least when i watched the blue coat seasons a while back) The main focus was on the famous and wacky antics of Lupin the Third
I mean its been a linute since i watched but you could make the argument they didnt rob people and even then thry didn't mind earning the sentai team power if needed@@ObadiahQRex
The biggest tragedy this show ever did was not having a persona 5 style raid on the villain's hideout. Yes I know the movie exists but it doesnt really count since they were sent their unwillingly.
When it comes to _style,_ I absolutely love LuPat. Gotta be one of my favorite themes. In terms of story, I hate it. It’s such wasted potential. It’s billed as a show about two teams. But it’s mostly a Lupinranger show, and even then it’s more of a LupinRed show, following a post-Gokaiger trend of “If you can’t/won’t figure out how to make the entire team relevant, then just make it a Kamen Rider show or a show in a completely different franchise.” The Lupins are given almost every Trigger Machine, LuPatX is a LupinRanger double agent, and barely anyone except LupinRed gets any significant part in the story. During the earliest episodes, I was hoping that the two teams were intended to work together, given that they both use the VS Changer and can utilize each other’s machines. When LuPatX debuted, I was hyped thinking that the teams would now have a common bridge and be unified. Then it became clear that this was wasn’t LupinRanger VS PatRanger or LupinRanger & PatRanger, it was “The LupinRed Show featuring these unimportant sidekick shmucks.”
I did rewatch this show fairly recently (around March and April). What I think of this show is still the same mostly. Something I still question why Dongrieo wasn’t destroyed but instead is locked up and he’s still in lock up. I understand why the Patorangers didn’t get rid of him but whatever. I think the biggest positive about the Gangler is that they didn’t want world domination. Even Dongrieo admits he took the Lupin collection and killed Arséne in cold blood because he just wanted it to look at. Mafia am I right.
Because, The Lupinrangers were inside the chained golden safe of Dogranio, since while in civilian forms, they are the bestfriends of the Patrangers, if they killed Dogranio, the Lupinrangers would've died along with Dogranio, so they locked Dogranio up
@@Baby_Vegeta_GT see that's one of the reasons why I am in the middle with this show. I like a happy ending but at the same time but if the GSPO weren't arresting the Gangler then why bother
If (and only if) this was adapted to power rangers this woulda been great to bring back the phantom ranger for the lupinrangers and the blue senturion for the patorangers
Seen the entire Sentai series with subtitles They didn't become Power Rangers because according to the producers they aren't thieves Curious if they were teams of 5: in the Police one a black man and a light blue girl, for the Phantoms... which I prefer... well
this is my favorite series of power rangers and super sentai all together. having a conflict of two different types of sentai teams, having their own goals at the same time is awesome. it's literally if like bokenger or like even magi ranger was next too SPD or even go buster. two motives that are both common in this genre " we do this because it is morally right and just" vrs "this is the only way WE can get OUR justice" and to see both happening at the same time and conflicting with each other is just magical. ESPECIALLY with how pata red isn't a carboard foil. he isn't this angry dimensionless cop. he has his own character he has is own struggles in balancing his own beliefs, as our other protag does as well. that and all the little references in the lupin collection. and THE LUPIN SUITS GO WAY TOO HARD LISTEN
I really HATED the ninteenth episode, not because of the Patrangers being incompetent but because of Shinta Yanagami, the senior official of the Global Special Police Organization, I know he was just a one-off character but he was just very annoying (the same level of annoying as Goroge from King-Ohger)
Yeah episode 19 was pretty bad, but it is no where near as bad as episode 27, that episode is so freaking cringe and I almost had a heart attack from how cringe it was
I was fully immersed as I was watching the series but in retrospect I could see the glaring issues. The Lupinrangers kinda had to get the upper hand to protect their identity and consistently it comes at the cost of the Patrangers looking like fools. This is Tom and Jerry slapped on top of a monster of the week format. I remember Noel being a prick that seemed like he's too cool to hang out with everyone else and just doing it for contractual obligations, including his efforts of befriending them. I totally get where Marcos is coming from with enjoying the episode more when the Patrangers get some highlight because sadly they are treated as a secondary squad, because if they managed to get one up on the thieves, the jig is up. Although, I do think it's not impossible to craft an intriguing story where the identities of the thieves being revealed to the police maybe a third way into the series. Noel can definitely be utilized better to glue the dynamics between the opposing teams by keeping his status as a double (double) agent a secret, or at least play it as if he's keeping it a secret from the opposition, instead of announcing out loud that he's playing both sides and just trying to be happy-go-lucky. Sure hope they will try this 2-team format again in the future with a better suited dynamic, where the stakes aren't that series and either team can take L's without disturbing the status quo too much
So why does everyone complain about like oh the lupinrangers get more screen time than the patrangers like who would you rather follow for a majority of the story people who have compelled backstories better designs( in my opinion) or the ones who their reasons to fight is I need to pay rent this month along with less compelling backstories
i watched it, saw the difference in focus that the lupinrangers have when compared to the patorangers, and proceeded to not care because acab Jokes aside (well, believing in acab isn't a joke but you get what I mean), I thought it was thoroughly enjoyable. Could there have been better writing decisions to actually make the two teams more evenly stacked? Of course. But I feel like *most of* (in bold because no Sentai is safe from a stinker or two) the writing that we did get is still by no means bad, and I found it to be a fun and engaging series nonetheless. The suits are rad, the mecha designs are rad, the aesthetics are on point, and the opening and all the BGM songs are perfection. I do wish they leaned more into the two teams VS concept more (and love how when it comes to anniversary stuff like sentai gears both teams get one instead of both of them being lumped together), but just because they did it once doesn't mean they can't do it again, though since the sales seem to have bombed for the toyline it might be a while before we do...
55:25 Actually, I found that part strange myself. It wasn't until I watched Zenkaiger VS Donbrothers that I learned that the VS can be read as versus usually... but in Sentai, it usually means Victory Super. So, you could view it as both meanings. They did fight, but they were always meant to work together. As any Sentai team would, one would say.
i started this video interested in this season but got side tracked looking at which of the lupin collection items were just resprayed morphers from previous seasons 😂😂
After Toqger finally there is a nice and unique story again from Sentai and the red ranger character from Lupin/Pat is cool too, not a boring leader typical The drama & the idealism about justice from both red ranger it's so deep ❤💙💛 VS ❤️💚🩷
Maybe it wasn't the best execution, but two rival teams set against each other is still an interesting premise. Maybe they can try it again someday with more balanced teams.
They may have many potholes in the entire series, lupin vs patron ranger is kinda enjoyable but understandable why ppl hate kairi 😂 Bonus : their final stage show is basically epilogue episode for the reunited cliffhanger ending
In a amusing twist the thief rangers are in fact not the if but private security retiring stolen property to the true owner when the cop ranger very changers and spare power ups are all stolen from the hand of lupin family agents and when krnchito is confronted about this refuses to return stolen property to the rightful owner
As much as I love the show (and a particular A.U. of if) were the Lupinrangers being chased by the police because of the thief motif because I don't recall there being any mention of an actual crime. Not even jaywalking. Hell I think there's an episode and the opening of the vs vs movie where they raise their hands crossing the street.
Like many others, I love LuPat. I love it with every fiber of my being. One of my favorites, flaws and all. The characters to me was what stole the show and I can't say that enough. I only wish that the writing could have been handled better. And yes, I ship Kairi & Keichiro. You can thank that final show where they actually did kiss. That made me giddy. Despite that, it was a shame it didn't do well sales wise. Ratings wise, it did good and was even nominated for a galaxy award. Plus, Keichiro's actor got big after the show. I'm happy for him, plus being police chief for a day is an absolute win. Also I don't care what Simon Bennett says. I still hope for an adaptation of this because there is potential. A lot of potential. A shame the guy is a dumbass. Opinions and all. Nice job Marcos. I look forward to whatever you have next. I hope one day you try your luck with a real classic: MIrai Sentai Timeranger.
im surprised that you didnt mention that the season leaves off on a cliffhanger that was never solved... ya know the whole "what happens when all of the lupin collection is together?" and "what does lupin look like and will he ever be revived?"
LuPat is one of the best tokusatsu i ever watch in my life. The plot is amazing, the design is one of my favourites and the explanation of the villain is one of the neatest too. Not only that,LuPat is basically the one who made me watch some other tokusatsu as well.
Even though I do feel disappointed of this show, I think it’s a great concept that works really well with the Sentai formula while being unique. I am glad Sentai are doing more risks and unique stuff like that nowadays even if the sales are sadly abysmal
Thank you for expressing your feelings, must have been like expired milk when watching this. In my experience in watching this series, I will say the Lupinranger are the only good thing this series has. Unfortunately when I think of the Patrangers, this truly loses reasoning to be a sentai. All the shows spotlight was continuously on Lupinrangers and in the later half only Lupin X. Patrangers don't get enough of a backstory individually to make me care for them, and get no power up until the last episode. I hate Lupin X because of how the plot was all around him when he arrived, he GETS BOTH teams power ups and uses them more frequently than the LuPat all together, so tell me without telling me, the writers forgot about the Patrangers. He arrives just to sh*t on the Patrangers and they get left behind all together. What truly made me hate this series was where Good Striker ran away from the Patrangers because they did not care for his feelings..........These are cops we're talking about, who are people everybody comes to for help and will listen to you. Patranger gets no light shone upon them at all. And when they do, It's just like Marco's said, is was too late for me to even care. I also truly hate this series and also believe they won't ever do a VS series again. There was way too much love for the Lupinrangers which destabilized the teams, and the Lupinrangers are all that I hear from from this series, the Patranger I look upon in disbelief and overall disgust at the writers and production at how poorly they treated this team. Lets not even talk about how the movie exclusive mech was EXCLUSIVE only towards the Lupinranger. I hear people say they want ANOTHER VS series. I'm looking around trying to figure out how are they gonna make it fair for both teams. *AHEM*, IT WONT. It truly is Lupinrangers feat. Lupin X and the cops.
I really Enjoyed LuPaT. But as much as I grew respect for the Patrangers and Keichiro/Kairi Dynamic is fantastic, the Lupinranger bias was so obvious... I got overtaken but that Bias since I like the Lupinrangers more too. I really wanted more for the Patrangers and ngl I wanted the Lupinranger sacrifice at the end to be definitive...
While I do agree with most of the criticism for the series, I still liked it and I was entertained throughout the whole run. I guess because it was my first super Sentai season I finished and the premise was really interesting to me. It’s still probably one of my favorite seasons.
@@Marcosatsu Persona 5 was a great hit, though. I wouldnt be surprised if it was an influence. After all, Lupinrangers started in 2018 while Persona 5 released in 2016.
I’m mostly conflicted on this season. While it has one of the best stories and characters, a lot of episodes are filler and add nothing to the plot. Lupin Blue and Patren 3 are largely forgotten about and Noelle really sucks. BUT when it hits the story hits hard. Also that ending sucks, no team up of the two teams and I’m pretty sure where’s no real final fight between the two. All in all 7/10 could easily be better but sadly it’s not
i am 3% sure lupat was the first sentai I watched at the start and finished and while I am clearly reaching I think Zamigo not doing much is awesome yet terrifying given how he is the one making the human designed for ganglers like we have no idea how many more people the dude grabbed between the lupin rangers loved ones and the end of the show he is the demon that anyone could come across at moment in their lives and while he takes away another friend brother or love the pat ranger prove that justice is blind (this is not meant to be a algory for cops=bad just me reading to much into a show with rubber monsters and clipshows )
It's been a while since I've commented on one of your videos😂, but I liked that you said you didn't like the body-swapping episodes, I hate them to, and the movies too 😂😂
Huuuuuuuuuh...??? SHEESH, I heavy disagree with the overall take here on LuPat. Yes, I agree the show team focus was incredibly biased; yes, I agree Zamigo & the Ganglers were HEEEEEEAVILY underutilized. And yes, I agree Noel's reveal was just a big heap of nothing & was disappointing. HOWEVER, I CANNOT agree that the characters weren't that compelling. I thought at least that the Lupinrangers' characterizations & Keichiro were solid, and that the motivations for why each team is set on opposing each other made a lot of sense. Also, the sheer mechanics of the show with the MoTW & the way the Ganglers operate with the Lupin Treasures in their safes was REALLY COOL, and made for very interesting & entertaining fight sequences. (Some of the best fight choreography in Sentai; and with GUNS TOO!!!) I would say LuPat was easily the 2nd best Sentai post-Zenkaiger(To be fair I haven't seen Donbrothers yet), only 2nd to King-Ohger.
I'm just gonna say that I love this season, I vastly prefer the Lupinrangers though. They just seem so much cooler and interesting in almost every regard. Gauche is a mommy too. Also am I the only one who thinks the Ganglers base could've been Luigi's mansion? (Why did the CGI actually look like it's from said game?)
I enjoyed this season and I really hope we get another vs season soon. My only complaint is that there was so much filler. I prefer the more story focused sentai like Toqger and Gokaiger
this is still my all time favorite sentai season . I still believe that the ganglers meet up in Luigi's mansion and all of this is happening because Luigi didn't take care of the ghosts and
At least their toys is one of my all time favorite. The VS changer and the VS vehicles are imo one of the best design toy Sentai has to offer ever. I have always hate how the mecha and the transformation device was so stand alone and unconnected to each other so havin them be able to read each other is a great treat, it's a whole package deal, you get more sound as you get more arms. The mecha gimmick is severely under-utilize, which i wont get too much into, just know i think they have much better unexplored combination potential. But the Changer? Hell yeah, not only it can read the vehicles, rotates up and down, was designed to be a highway, the cars has trigger holes to connect with the gun while the planes has dial. The fidgeting toy potential is a work of Genius.
watch the lupans using machine trigger but still rotate it up, and also the fact that they had 1 trigger machine (2 if we count Noel Siren Striker) and 2 robot formation using machine trigger with Patkiser-ish face but still using Lupankaiser as a name is just frustrating.
I get that they are two, very different things. But I don't get how this doesn't get a pass based on its style, and yet Kamen Rider Wizard does. It seems to me like this series was supposed to be a Lupinranger series, but then they remembered stealing stuff is bad, and shouldn't be glorified to children, so they added the Patrangers in hastily to balance it out.
NOW I NEVER HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THIS STINKY SHOW EVER AGAIN
I can respect that. Take the rest you need
HOW DARE YOU SAY THIS MASTERPIECE A "STINKY SHOW" (also I'm thankful and grateful you made this vid)

Whats your first? For me it was Zenkaiger. It was what got me into Super Sentai and i ended up watching LupPat right after
LuPat is among the top of my favorite Toku series, the story, while messy at plenty of points, gave us enjoyable characters and a great finale.
I have a theory.not based on rumors just a thought
I think the sentai was gonna just be about the lupinrangers...BUT toei in fear parents wouldnt like a show glorifying thieves as heroes even if they have some good moral of the day moments, balanced it out by having a sentai cop team to balance it out...unfortunately the writers who already had the lupin thought out more kinda neglected the patrangers
Again,just a personal theory
I mean even if that is the case Lupin the Third anime did the same with Zenigata (at least when i watched the blue coat seasons a while back) The main focus was on the famous and wacky antics of Lupin the Third
@@jamesbond3wAlso what about Gokaiger? Everyone loved them.
This has been my favorite season from the moment I watched episode 1, if it doesn't get 10 years after I'm gonna be so sad
When it comes to _style,_ I absolutely love LuPat. Gotta be one of my favorite themes. In terms of story, I hate it. It’s such wasted potential. It’s billed as a show about two teams. But it’s mostly a Lupinranger show, and even then it’s more of a LupinRed show, following a post-Gokaiger trend of “If you can’t/won’t figure out how to make the entire team relevant, then just make it a Kamen Rider show or a show in a completely different franchise.”
The Lupins are given almost every Trigger Machine, LuPatX is a LupinRanger double agent, and barely anyone except LupinRed gets any significant part in the story.
Because, The Lupinrangers were inside the chained golden safe of Dogranio, since while in civilian forms, they are the bestfriends of the Patrangers, if they killed Dogranio, the Lupinrangers would've died along with Dogranio, so they locked Dogranio up
@@Baby_Vegeta_GT and nobody else could trust that they had a way out we just have to assume the worst case scenario.
@@rayhayes7701 Ye, so they just tortured Dogranio to just let them out, he didn't let them out, so jackpot striker took them out
@@Baby_Vegeta_GT see that's one of the reasons why I am in the middle with this show. I like a happy ending but at the same time but if the GSPO weren't arresting the Gangler then why bother
I do feel that the lupin rangers were the more prevalent in this show.
ACAB even in sentai 😂
they were definitely the core of the show yeah.
If (and only if) this was adapted to power rangers this woulda been great to bring back the phantom ranger for the lupinrangers and the blue senturion for the patorangers
To me from Start to Finish this Series is Such a Great Sentai Show and i Love it.
Wait.... Jim Carter has a peanut-shaped torso and was named after the peanut farmer president.... Much to think about
Yo talk about my hometown
Seen the entire Sentai series with subtitles
They didn't become Power Rangers because according to the producers they aren't thieves
Curious if they were teams of 5: in the Police one a black man and a light blue girl, for the Phantoms... which I prefer... well
this is my favorite series of power rangers and super sentai all together.
having a conflict of two different types of sentai teams, having their own goals at the same time is awesome.
it's literally if like bokenger or like even magi ranger was next too SPD or even go buster.
two motives that are both common in this genre " we do this because it is morally right and just" vrs "this is the only way WE can get OUR justice" and to see both happening at the same time and conflicting with each other is just magical. ESPECIALLY with how pata red isn't a carboard foil. he isn't this angry dimensionless cop. he has his own character he has is own struggles in balancing his own beliefs, as our other protag does as well.
that and all the little references in the lupin collection.
and
THE LUPIN SUITS GO WAY TOO HARD LISTEN
Sure hope they will try this 2-team format again in the future with a better suited dynamic, where the stakes aren't that series and either team can take L's without disturbing the status quo too much
I really liked this series when it came out, this series is one of the few super sentai that I followed weekly instead of just waiting to binged it
I will always love this Sentai!! No one can change my mind
I think they made the Patrangers lame because there are already sentais based on police and there was zero sentais based on thiefs
Captain Marvelous rolling on the floor laughing
@@Ticketman99i think luca fits the description
I love that series. It was a fun premise, and the music was fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥
First Super Sentai I have ever watched and I loved it❤
LuPat is my favorite Super Sentai season next to Gokaiger, having two factions bantering against each other is such an amazing premise.
So why does everyone complain about like oh the lupinrangers get more screen time than the patrangers like who would you rather follow for a majority of the story people who have compelled backstories better designs( in my opinion) or the ones who their reasons to fight is I need to pay rent this month along with less compelling backstories
I generally loved Lupin vs Pat ranger
i watched it, saw the difference in focus that the lupinrangers have when compared to the patorangers, and proceeded to not care because acab
Jokes aside (well, believing in acab isn't a joke but you get what I mean), I thought it was thoroughly enjoyable.
Fun fact, there are two Haruka Kudo. One who's an actor, who plays Umika, and the other who's a va, who voiced sayo in bang dream roselia
I have most of the toys for this series, greatly underrated!
It was way too one sided
55:25 Actually, I found that part strange myself. It wasn't until I watched Zenkaiger VS Donbrothers that I learned that the VS can be read as versus usually... but in Sentai, it usually means Victory Super. So, you could view it as both meanings. They did fight, but they were always meant to work together. As any Sentai team would, one would say.
Wait... THE VS IN THE COLLAB MOVIES MEANS VICTORY SUPER INSTEAD OF VERSUS!? HOW DIDN'T I KNOW IT!!!
I’ve been waiting for this for a long long time, now I wait for ryusoldier and drunk history of tensou rider GoSaber
i started this video interested in this season but got side tracked looking at which of the lupin collection items were just resprayed morphers from previous seasons 😂😂

After Toqger finally there is a nice and unique story again from Sentai and the red ranger character from Lupin/Pat is cool too, not a boring leader typical
The drama & the idealism about justice from both red ranger it's so deep

Super sentai can't keep up this pathetic why don't watch power rangers ninja steel

Lupinranger looks so awesome!!
Destra is definitely my favorite sentai monster design.
Love the whole militaristic grenade ascetic.
This Sentai Series was the most emotional in mine, and the best, I hoped there were more
Loved the gym episode 😂😂😂
The warehouse fight between The red rangers reminds me of the dom & Hobbs fight in Fast Five *chef kiss*
i loved this show back then
When i think about the show i instantly think of that banger of a opening
Maybe it wasn't the best execution, but two rival teams set against each other is still an interesting premise. Maybe they can try it again someday with more balanced teams.
The ganglers doctor made me feel things that im a shamed at
This is my favorite season of super sentai.
They may have many potholes in the entire series, lupin vs patron ranger is kinda enjoyable but understandable why ppl hate kairi 😂
Bonus : their final stage show is basically epilogue episode for the reunited cliffhanger ending
In a amusing twist the thief rangers are in fact not the if but private security retiring stolen property to the true owner when the cop ranger very changers and spare power ups are all stolen from the hand of lupin family agents and when krnchito is confronted about this refuses to return stolen property to the rightful owner
BTW. Patkaiser's theme is fire. They made them really awesome.
It's old school Super Robots theme song. It would no be out of place if singers like Isao Sasaki or the late Ichirou Mizuki sang it.

Episode 11 is my description of Sentai Sillyness
If nothing else, We gained ALOT after this show was over!
50:08-☝ummm akshually it's Zamigo not Keichiiro that Kairi was looking for
If only they could done something interesting with this seasons concept
i cant believe i skipped this sentai series,
after seeing commander hilltop with the "Nigo" ranger at the same team
im surprised that you didnt mention that the season leaves off on a cliffhanger that was never solved... ya know the whole "what happens when all of the lupin collection is together?" and "what does lupin look like and will he ever be revived?"
Cliffhangers don’t really bother me so I probably didn’t feel the need to mention it, also since it didn’t matter to me what Lupin looked like
what I realized Gauche uses a literal guinea pig for the Gangler creature
Yay my second favorite super sentai
Great video bro!
Really overblown
Bro is spitting facts like why are lupin rangers using the land based collections it patorangers speciality

"Adieu"
now that I think about LvP definitely did not know what arms were and they just attached a litteral vechicle on the mech and called it a day
I really Enjoyed LuPaT.
It’s still probably one of my favorite seasons.
kyranger episode when
Persona 5: Rangers
Didn’t this come out after Persona 5? Maybe that’s why the show focuses more on the theives
Not at all.
It's been a while since I've commented on one of your videos😂, but I liked that you said you didn't like the body-swapping episodes, I hate them to, and the movies too 😂😂
one of my favorite super sentais
(Some of the best fight choreography in Sentai; and with GUNS TOO!!!)
I would say LuPat was easily the 2nd best Sentai post-Zenkaiger(To be fair I haven't seen Donbrothers yet), only 2nd to King-Ohger.
When I first heard of this I thought it was going to be about it will also be ♂️ vs ♀️

Wizard didn’t get a pass either.
ok, I probably misread the subtext a twinge. Also I have seen Wizard, but haven't watched LvP yet, so personal experience bias might exist.
