I seriously cannot believe that this young woman prioritized the value of a college final enough to leave a country she was working a FT career in to take the test. That's so gross that the professor didn't give her a chance to prove herself capable. I played college lacrosse and my captain of my team was an Olympic horse back rider who would fly from NJ to FL three days out of the week to train on her horse (M-W) and then come back to school to kick ass on the field, get great grades, and step into the leadership role of being a captain! The girl had a work ethic that seemed superhuman and my teammates, school, and coach all supported her drive and accomplishments. She would miss occasional practices and classes but always showed up in the moment with more energy, strength, and focus than most people who were physically in every class, test, or practice! I always remember thinking it was SO cool how organized and motivated and committed she was to success and her goals. That teacher did a grave disservice in the department of providing potential space for another human to succeed beyond the rigidity of their own ego. This girl seem superhuman motivated and I respect it.

Everybody is talking about Sydney, but Drew is an amazing interviewer, she reacts with such an interest and delight, like a mother who is proud of her child. I knew Drew as an actress, but she's such a lovely person!

@@lilpotat0 She needs a superhero or Action role. She has a background in MMA and won tournaments against men and women and I would love to see her finally put those skills to use on screen. Sydney would be a great choice to play SpiderGwen and it could make her huge since a lot of people love superhero movies and the Spider Characters.

The fact that she's balancing both her acting career along with her college is so inspiring yet that professor not letting her take her finals while she's trying is so unfair. I can't wait to see her progress in life and be able to do things that she wants and achieve everything she deserves.

That’s so messed up what her professor and class did to her. I know classmates who didn’t show up to a single class and passed the final and they lived ON campus. I’m glad drew said that was not the end to that story
I like her. Like she shouldn't be able to miss tons more classes than other students. 1 or 2... should be on case by case scenario but more than that seems like she should have chosen an online class. Just retake it!
Yeah, it is pretty unfair what her professor and classmates did to her because she did try her best to put effort to finish her course. I honestly think she should have gone to the dean or something, especially if she had a prior arrangement to take classes while working on her television projects. I honestly feel awful for Sydney. She seems like a genuine person, and it's sad her professor treated her this way.
I show up to classes maybe 20% of the time and still take my finals and pass with no less than an A-. Showing up to classes means nothing, especially if you're capable of being independent and getting the work done on your own, and absorbing the material well enough on your own.
Maybe there was a minimum attendance requirement? I'm not American so I don't know how common that is, but it would make sense.

I never had any idea what my fellow students' schedules even were. If someone had come up to me and said "Isn't unfair that X has missed soooo many days?" My answer would've been "huh? Who?" Who has the time?!

She chose to do both. It is not required for them to allow her to take the final test after skipping so many classes. it's unfair to the students. It's not like it's their business what she does in her own time. Also, if other students were skipping classes to take naps, they wouldn't be allowed to take the exam either. If they were working ,that's a no still.
