This song was written by David Foster and Linda Thompson , Whitney's was a cover of their song which was said to be written for the movie 'Body Guard'. Angelina is just Wow Wow Wow, Angelina 16 Whitney 29 need we say more. Both of them are great unique singers , but different we need to give each one the proper praise . Angelina is not a Whitney and Whitney was not a Angelina. But for me Angelina adds the jazz spice I like that Whitney did not have.

Oh so tired of some many reactors and "vocal coaches" commenting on the fact she is not singing it in "Whitney's KEY"....great observation since this in Angelina Jordan and NOT Whitney....so so tired of that crap. She just dropped this over the weekend. Like Saturday midnight or something. Okay, let's go. The song was not written by WH. It was written by two songwriters FOR WH, and it is very vocally challenging no matter the key one starts in. A vocal coach pointed out AJ has started on a G and WH started it several steps (not whole notes) higher. Sorry I can't recall the name of those steps. Angelina has approached this song with vision and intelligence. She has honored WH while stamping it for herself. It is like our 16 yo Angelina is announcing the next step in her multi-level maturation, a step that says, "Angels, there is more to come." And, I'm with you. This Grandma wants to protect this Dear One who sings and lifts us up. I feel healing in her voice....no one is ever alone. And that last note is something to take home. 💜
I'm totally with you on this.. I've prayed more than once that her gift never be commercialized or exploited in any way ever.. this baby girl is so very special. 💝

I am often at a loss for words, when trying to describe Angelina Jordan's voice, or what genre she fits in, & I have come to accept, that she does not fit in any category, or genre, & is simply in league all of her own.....One thing I do know though, is every time I hear her voice, it touches my heart & brings out emotions, some of which, I didn't even know existed! AJ's performance is absolutely stellar. She has to belt near the top of her range, and she handles the key change perfectly. Very little vocal strain or pressure. Her riffs during the coda are from another planet -- and the way she sustains fry and vibrato and breathiness throughout her runs is her signature: easily the best I've every encountered. This is what happens when you bring a classic jazz mentality and ability to classic pop. Thanks for your reaction!
I love Angelina's voice. I do think Whitney (RIP Whitney, we ❤ you) sang her notes a bit higher in spots. Whitney did her thing back in the day. I honestly don't think that you could really compare the two because their approach to the song was different. Angelina was so laid back with a little rasp in her voice. Whitney was a little bolder.
However, they are both absolutely brilliant and I think Whitney would be proud of how Angelina sang it and made it her own.

What's up Ray? Boy, this one was a surprise! Looks like she's using the same antique store again, but who cares! The music she's been making in this store have been top tier and the videos visually beautiful. Love that she went back to the black and white again. The monochrome look gives her such a classic look. She already has the voice of an established singing superstar/diva, but without the bad attitude. This young lady is special and will do big things in the near future!
She sure likes this shop - it's called Melrose Gallery in LA and has all these mirrors and chandeliers for sale.

I personally think the Official version is better than Whitney Houston’s version.

if you want to listen to a song that is on fire sung by perhaps the best male vocalist on the planet listen to STRANGER by DIMASH. this is not your normal genre but i guarantee it will knock your socks off. he has also performed many pop songs. a little background i believe he is about 27 has sung songs in 17 different languages plays 8 different instruments speaks 3 languages fluently and can get by in about 4 others. dont want to give you too much but just listen to STRANGER for the fun of it. it is in english, i think Dimash will impress you

Regardless of genre (jazz, rock, rap, R&B), would you believe in the best female singer? Korean singer Sohyang will guide you to the new world. Just trust and follow me, I'll tell you what a wonder is.
She's fabulous but sounds identical to many other fabulous singers.
So yang is a "good" commercial singer, just because she can go in to the whistle register doesn't make her the best; she doesn't have anywhere near the vocal versatility of Angelina if your thing is straight tone then So Yang is your type of singer; on the other hand if you want to be wrapped in a warm blanket or want to have attitude wrapped in a warm blanket or sassiness wrapped in a warm blanket or have a cry wrapped in a warm blanket and / or a myriad of other emotions wrapped in a warm blanket then Angelina is the best.
