Their contract was that she owed him her first child, and they grew to love each other so he amended it to her owing him _his_ child. (Aka leaving the prince for him.) She went to go kill the king but realized love is weakness, so she tore her heart out so she could not love Rumple. She then left him and became queen with her prince, aka Henry, who is Regina's father. (Henry also being the old man Regina killed to enact the curse and named her son after.) So... Henry and Cora are Regina's parents, but it's very disturbing how intimate they are given theirs (and Regina's parent's) history. Blech!! 😂

But that happy dynamic aside, Regina and him are waaaay too gross for me to think about. They don't even look good together like they do as enemies... Imo, not judging others' ships lol. I've seen that dynamic too many times irl, and to encourage romanticize such a toxic relationship for "love" is such a horrible and manipulative message and never ever worth it.
