    real shit, broken legendaries just make chime unplayable unless you hop on the bandwagon. nobody out there using the dozens of other weapons, which sucks if you wanna use a realistic looking sword instead of some goofy looking blade ball weapon

      And this list gets bigger each time, yeah honestly at this point we got enough to surpass the content that conquest update would have, we prob had more with every weekly than layer 2 update entirely (as i am writing this we literally got a new curse enchant too)

    Adding more legendary weapons to the game is so annoying. When deep first came out it was just the crypt blade and the curved blade of winds. They didn’t add any new ones for a year at the start, but they released good quality updates. The decrease in replayablility has gotten so bad that I haven’t played deep in a year. I just want a good PVE update to come out

      There should be a quest like thing, to remove your name from the bounty board. If somebody likes pvping with void walkers then simply don’t do the quest.

      @@mat6tehpokemon946 nah, I'd play on the surface personally because it's so boring in the depths after progressing there 20 times, the problem is that it takes about 5 times longer to level up that way and the moment I start doing layer 2 I'm inconvenienced because I can't just hop into castle light at any time. The game actively discourages playing on the surface.

    the game has become so PvP focused that the devs haven't even realized how far progressing has gone from what it used to be. In Verse 1 bandits used to be scary. At power 1 now with all the PvE changes, you can kill brown coat bandits with 2 m1s using a base sword

      ​@@annexedd Deepwoken today isn't what Deepwoken was advertised to be all those years ago, back then the game relied more on PvE rather than PvP. (voidwalker and chime)
      Now it is absolutely fine to like the game how it is today (because I certainly do) but people have the right to feel disappointed in how the game aged and progressed. Especially because they promised not to add a competitive mode and then they did it anyway with Chime.

    I always think that they should do biweekly/triweekly/monthly FOCUSED updates, like how cool would it be if one update they just add 20+ new bells, or a whole new area in L2. Unfortunately I've also realized that different devs work on different things, some are builders, scripters, modelers, so they prolly can't do something like adding a ton of bells in one update. Some things like a new area would still be feasible, but not with the current update schedule

    I feel like the real way to fix an issue like this is to make bi weekly updates with filler weeklies in between, mainly QoL, bug fixing and on actual non filler weeklies we get content that they had actual time to test

    It's almost intentional that normal weapons are pushed to midgame (not that midgame exists for more than 1 hour). I miss when you could pick up an alloyed halberd or whaling knife and make a cool build. They just can't compete anymore. Idk if they're making things to fit into Conquest but it aint helping rn.

    really good take, for a while now I've been annoyed at friday updates seeing what garbage they added instead of being excited, there are so many downsides to weekly content; builds can become totally unusable in one week, rushed and uncreative weapons that ruin the game balance, and this rushed stuff will never get removed because why would you remove content, it's permanent damage to the game quality, I would remove 80% of content added post maestro update (thats when the ton of garbage rushed weapons and mantras started popping out), if they made monthly updates instead it'll be much better, for example the second wave of elemental legendaries thats coming out? make it a single update and polish them, this way one attunement doesnt get overbuffed for a week and gets tons of nerfs next week.

    you're so godamn right about all of this, and I feel that crypt of Unbroken is the best place to grind Xp, but I wish it wasn't just... Trial of One -> Crypt of unbroken -> Bosses, Ik you can go deepbound, but like I wish there were more rare overworld events with more SPECIAL loot, loot that cannot be grinded other places, and that.

    The game’s lack of replay ability extends from the fact that meta builds exist, the main solution would be to
    1) better and more enemies for all range of levels eg: enemies as strong as bandits, sharkos and just more choices of things to fight not just at maxed p20 mega builds, new bosses and harder things are great but the game needs to be fun to get there too
    2) As you said, balancing
    3) more oaths meaning more restrictions and more variety for builds
    4) controversial because it’ll also make the game more complicated but more talents, gives a wider variety of cards to use on builds but with the introduction of a large amount of talents they also need to give you more aces, quite a few more aces
    These can’t really be done in weekly updates, the first 3 it would be far better to have them take their time to do those and for #4 it can be done at whatever pace they’re comfortable with, adding a lot of new talents will take time, they can do weekly instalments if they want adding a few in every week while they work on more but overall I believe bigger but better updates, still on a schedule would be better

    I’ve seen some people complain about the new quest legendaries. But I really enjoy the idea of having legendaries be part of a lore based quest. Unfortunately that meant having chainsaws/whatever out of place design and all the “quests” being stat reqs and finding some guy in a hole in the wall. In other words, cool idea, could have had better execution if it weren’t for the problems presented in the vid.
    Edit: the lore quests don’t HAVE to be legendaries. Could just be reg weapons

      there aren't any chainsaws, the only really out of place one is pyrekeeper, it literally has no place in the lore and doesn't have a right to exist. pleeksty's inferno is one of the better lore weapons if anything, it's a macuahuitl (obsidian bladed club) since tirans are aztec inspired, and pleeksty is probably tiran

    I'm someone who has been planning to get deepwoken but comes from the rogue scene, I honestly think weekly updates they should do weekly balancing so they have more time to come up with ideas and hopefully also update rogue so grimmkind can finally leave the basement. but I will say from what I have seen chime definitely needs a work from what the youtuber Eclipse said "it's the worst mechanic I have ever seen in a video game"

    Deepwoken devs. After conquest finally releases, quit weekly updates and start biweekly updates and through those biweekly updates, do still add new content but I really want to see this game be overhauled in a few places
    In terms of visuals, a lot of the models are great and all but some animations and especially environmental visuals are not nearly as appealing some of the older weapon models need remodeling (most have been remodeled but some haven’t) I’m a sucker for environment, visuals, and animations in video games
    (Please don’t change the textures on the surfaces that much though I’m more talking about the actual geometry and random structures and weather effects)
    I mean just look at the Dread serpent, his model is incredible for having been made in roblox but his animations are just kinda lacking and goofy, they just don’t fit with his near perfect model, also I know this is mostly a roblox thing but like his physics on the tail attack is crazy he just flies away
    The bosses, especially primadon and the dread serpent, monster combat in deepwoken is incredibly simple and it doesn’t need to change, what does need to change is primadon especially, because he’s literally a sharko that does way more damage and has 40k hp something’s gotta change with him, and also please give dread serpent some kind of reworked move set
    Humanoid bosses (excluding chaser because he’s good enough ig) duke erisia, oh boy the spear attack happens way to fast to have the same animation as another attack with a very different timing, the stomps sound and visual cues are almost non existent and for some reason feels weird to dodge, and he should always be trying to hit you directly instead of just kinda standing there spamming moves until he happens to strong left maestro was alright but him and the other humanoid bosses need to be more aggressive and smart with the moves they use or even have different movement styles to approach or escape the player like v2 does in ultrakill. Every humanoid NPC and by extension boss just runs to you, tries to hit you, attempts to block parry dodge incoming attacks and that’s it, just use a guard breaking move, land some hits, repeat

    BTW: Deep uses different devs for weeklies and main big-line updates, from what I know, K1, Yayafino and Dexerious works on weeklies whilst the other devs build upon Major Updates. They also (sometimes) contract and outsource developers to help with weeklies, but because most of those devs don't have much experience, some of the quality of the content can be quite... sub-par from the mainstream of the game.

    Honestly its the grind that comes with progressing that kills it for me. power 1-20 is a breeze as a deepbound but stuff like oath (and I play contractor so extra tedious), gameplay defining 0.5% drop rate items like the warmaster’s medalion, getting the right bell, etc just takes an absolutely ridiculous amount of time

    a rogue-lite with no replayablity, that is destined to go eventually and likely fast
    so the developers much torture themselves to make the game replayable by adding something every week

    Likely the reason conquest is taking so long is because moba's are really specifically made, the speed of minions, the xp values for each type of minion, spawn rates of camps, ect. Add all that on top of deepwoken build tomfoolery and it's an absolute headache of balancing.

    New thing=need time but no time=New thing broken=need time to fix new thing, but oh no next week is coming! Player start to get bored! What should we do?=Add new thing=Have no time to fix thing.

    Another problem is most likely the testers themselves sometimes not doing enough, I know that they aren't even used half the time but when they are it feels like they use a weapon once in a 1v1 and that's it like genuinly the players are the real testers who just test it over the weeks

    I do love the weekly updates, it's amazing that they can keep the content going that much and are able to balance that fast. I think players tend to take that for granted. I agree, though, that it's not very good for the large content updates. It's worse in the long term, without much to really sink your teeth into. Maybe they could do bi-weeklies, to lighten the load and spread it to other places.

    even though I agree that weekly updates might be getting a little too much, a lot of your points that you go over really don't make a lot of sense. You mention how weekly's should be used to polish and bug fix the game even though that's basically what they're doing since the content they add is pretty minimal (the ONLY thing they added this update was a new legendary). Comparatively the bugfixes and balancing take up your whole screen. Also, what I think they've been doing with the new legendary weapons is they get the concept, put it in the game, make sure it works ok, then let the community decide how it should be balanced. People criticize the devs WAY too severely when they really do an amazing job, especially when compared to the devs of basically any other game out there.

      The only reason they’re polishing and bug fixing right now is due to conquest and having a smaller team for weeklies, which in turn is making them focus on easier stuff (bug fixing and balancing), which has fixed some long term issues (since release, which is crazy, and shows a bit about their priorities)
      I think overall most things they add feel cool at first look, and then you realize, “oh, they forgot to make it blockable, time to wait a month” or “oh cool, new meteor event!”, and then they couldn’t take the time to make it not go into the abyss.
      It’s mostly little examples like these that would benefit from them caring more about quality instead of quantity.

    This video is extremely true, but i was thinking that small changes and tweaks or bug fixes could still be weekly. Probably not to get attention to the game like in your pros section of weekly updates, but just to listen to the community about bad balancing and whatnot. Keep up the great content, Quack!!!

    Ah I see. The problem is that it was made by the same people as rogue lineage.
    Edit: Fellas Fellas, relax. I'm not saying the games are similar. I'm saying that the devs are the same. Rogue lineage has it's fair share of unbalanced horseshit, though some has been ironed out, and the reason that deepwoken doesn't have that opportunity is because of the constant addition of new content. Basically, the same people that worked on rogue lineage that are currently working on deepwoken are really really shit and making balanced additions to their games on release.

    This reminds me of the conversation we had not too long ago. Don’t know if you remember, but I completely agree. The devs have lost their ‘touch’ with the core idea of their game. I knew weekly updates would be draining, constantly having to come up with IDEAS is the real issue. I feel like THEY feel like they’ve failed if they don’t deliver a banger of an update the coming Friday. They should stop updating. And focus on the lore, story, and overall direction of the game. On another subject, this last Friday, I thought to myself. With all these legendaries being out and so free to access. Regular weapons become VERY obsolete. 1 because of how easy it is to access it. 2 they’re just better weapons 3 their crits are basically entire moves. 4 they buff silentheart.

    I get the gripe with them adding new legendaries, but as a light gun loyalist, they better not stop before releasing a light gun legendary. They've been in deep since release and theyve gotten 1 new shitty weapon that no one even uses. Almost EVERY other weapon has a legendary at this point.

    Heres the kicker; the game isnt boring because of the devs, it because of the players. The players hate progression not because its bad, but because they hate doing anything besides fucking chime. If they never added chime, deepwoken would be good. But no, now its a sweatfest where everyone runs the same build.

      i dont think its fair to say that a game is boring because of the players. The devs literally control the game and the players do what works best for them.
      Players dont like progression because it is boring - deepwoken is literally a glorified bandit beater. Players play chime because it is the only way they can pvp safely and easily - and since the whole deepwoken world is boring and theres literally nothing to do after max level, the players pvp instead.
      Perhaps if developers thought of a way to counter this, and were willing to even change some of the core mechanics of their game, deepwoken might not be boring.

    They don’t need more time for the updates, they need to actually try and not rush an update in 1 day or whatever they are doing now, in the past weekly updates were good, adding new content every week and sometimes some bigger changes, now the most we get is a weapon if we’re lucky, or a mantra, i miss when they added new talents, paths, hybrid mantras were a cool idea, etc. now its just a legendary weapon which pushes players into making one specific build with it every time

    I don't like how many legendary weapons and enchants there are, just removes the rare and intresting part of the weapons and just replaces them with "new weapon with a unique 4 crits". while enchants in the past were going to be something expanded upon, more curses and such, promoting more risk and reward within the game but now the average group of players is just a neon jumble standing around at erisia with too many enchants to count

    One of Deep's current problems is that with the ping compensation and input buffering updates the game's fluidity was completely shattered. Something they did to the code made the gamd play like shit, especially when you're above 120 ping. Nothing's been done about it and i doubt tne devs even know this is going on

    For me the biggest problem with Deepwoken is something that's also somewhat good (mostly for casual players), in the past you would grind the perfect build wich you would need to farm for lucky (wich sucked) but would keep you engaged, it would take like 1 week to max the perfect build then you would need to farm for your setup like even a shattered katana used to be a big thing, enchants jeez i remember the hype of getting my first enchant, me and my friends going on depths expeditions for loot... Anyways also the old gameplay, mostly the PvE without 9192875 multipliers 1 shot or the immortal builds. Nowadays you can max a whole build in like 2/3 hours meanwhile getting every legendary, 900 enchants and HP sets theres pratically no point on playing the game quite literally unless you play chime, but then you have the Cringe builds with the stupid new weapons. Long story short nowadays you can get everything without any effort into it, you can make a stinky 1 shot/immortal build for PvE and even PvP and lets not talk about the Depths mechanic, there should be a CD to leaving Depths, i remember ganks that i would kill the same person/slot 5+ times in a single gank...

    I think what should be noted with proposed bi-weekly updates is that if they don't keep the content released in these updates to a similar level to what they do in the weeklies currently then the benefit will be pretty minimal. No point releasing bi-weekly updates if it just has the same amount of content as two weeklies. The current amount of content in each weekly is more then enough and honestly the sheer frequency of them is making content feel less special. Deepspindle was cool but the next week is here so whats new now go go go focus on the new shiny thing. It sucks for the games health and the community because that type of "new shiny of the week" mindset is horrid for the community.
    Bi-weekly updates would let them refine what they want to add as well as give them extra space to work on larger content drops. Honest opinion currently is that conquest won't save the game like everyone thinks it will. Sure it will be cool, but it won''t drag new players in and with the current balance of the game I don't see it being a big seller. The game simply just needs more content at this point. More luminants or layers to explore, bosses to fight, maybe a new weapon type for people to play with. Can't get much of this cool stuff when they spend 90% of their time drip feeding poorly designed legendaries every week without stopping to think if thats what the game even needs.

    yea I 100% agree that, atleast until conquest drops, they should change the schedule to every 2 weeks. I actually don't think deepwoken's endgame is THAT bad as long as you have atleast one freind to go ganking with, but the absolutely horrid balancing at the moment genuinely ruins the game for me.

    New animations and vfx usually ruin games. When devs decide to change the game by adding new complex vfx and animations that don’t fit the game it basically ruins the whole vibe.
    New flashy animations and visual effects are also a huge problem because the devs tend to make them unreadable in a PVP game thus making pvp less enjoyable and skill based.

    I don’t really care about new weapons, but the fact that they are so flashy and annoying, they are all so special when they don’t need to be

    every 2 weeks would be nice
    we already have weekly stuff like battle royale to keep people coming back every week and even the new 2x chest during weekend which I think should stay even after conquest
    every weekly update rn feels big but its really just one new thing everytime and if you logged on without knowing there was an update you would have no way of knowing there was one because of how small these updates actually are, you'd probably be 10 updates late in terms of knowledge if you didnt read the changelogs and the only thing you'd notice is the balance changes

    The schedule should be every week and a half and it would go, new gear, quests, bosses, misc then next week and a half would be adding new weapons and mantras then the last week and a half it would be bug fixes balancing and QOL update, repeat.     personally i would prefer to see a substantial update every month instead of the super scuffed updates we are getting currently, maybe a week to plan stuff out or rest, 2 weeks to make content, then a week to thoroughly test everything so we dont have stuff like permafrost prison dropping then immediately getting nerfed because they didnt test it, or stuff like pyrekeeper dropping as strong as it did. also the devs taking feedback from testers would be nice, im sure if pyrekeeper was actually tested then maybe someone could have pointed out that its absolutely ridiculous and shouldnt have dropped in the state that it did.

    i agree, but most tryhards would most likely complain if it was any longer, the community usually causes massive problems in games
    for instance depths ganking... people got bored of chime as it wasnt "risky" enough so they started wiping builds of other players, new or not, just to satisfy their entertainment
    once it was stopping and type soul revamped, deepwoken HAD to push a pvp based update for guilds to keep people involved.. thus making depths ganking beneficial and super common

    If the deep devs over all these years put the time they spent on meaningless weeklies into time spent on actual content updates, we would have the Central Luminant and Layer 3 by now lmao. The game would be so much better if there was more to do outside of chime. I legitimately feel like rogue lineage has more exploration to offer (because it probably does). Quack, your point about the game being get a max level and play chime simulator is true, and I wish it wasn't. Fun ganks are kinda hard to find since all the good players are in chime, which makes me really wish chime was never added quite frankly.
    In my opinion, devs should switch to monthly updates or at most often every other week bruh. Updates every week be hella rushed and you can tell these dudes never fucking test anything they release enough and end up slowly gutting it over the following weeklies. The meta cycling so fast is annoying as hell since you need to make a new build every damn day to keep up. We need something good in between deepwokens constant meta shifts and rogue lineage's eternally same meta LMAO

    Nah they just doing weeklies the wrong way, from what you said they dont even work a week for a weekly, rather just a few days (meeting at monday, then work up until friday (what happens to saturday and sunday then?)) and they focus too much on bringing "good content", which ironically ends up bringing garbage. The main point is keeping the communiy engaged, so instead of just adding brute new content every week they should just reduce it to one single new feature that prioritizes quality over quantity, so people remain just as engaged without having to overwork themselves

    Weekly updates can be VERY good its just not the type of game for that, For example helldivers 2 a game where the players actively determine the story and make a change through community contributions is amazing for that but something like deepwoken its really not.

    Having to farm for a new ability or a new weapon along with a new build every single week is the reason I stopped playing the game. The game's pve is not fun considering all the cahnges they've made and farming is just a pain that takes multiples hours/days and you're almost never guaranteed to find what you want
    Also did I mention that having these upgrades is almost always mandatory to be able to pvp
    That's precisely why I want big updates, cuz the first thing I think about isn't "oh I need to farm for the new things" no I'll just venture and see where things lead me. This also is the reason why I want central luminant over any other major content update they could add

    I've yet to watch the video but this is my input on it.
    1. They're spamming out legendary weapons, a legendary weapon should be legendary and there shouldn't be a million of them.
    2. They've made PVE way too easy. In a way this (in my opinion) has also lowered the skill floor, as it takes less skill to get a maxed slot than before with every single PVE difficulty nerf like lowering corrupted mob hp, decreasing their damage, increasing the base PVE dmg, increasing PVE scaling etc.
    3. Everyone has an enchant now. Enchants used to be something very rare and cool to have (like legendary weapons), but now everyone can get them, whether it being from a chest in which they're super common from now, Laplace, or the deepshore which is literally just a free enchant of your choice.
    4. Kind of going back to the legendaries talk, a lot of legendary weapons are super strong, sure they should be, but when they've become as common as this it allows every player to have an extremely braindead build in which they can just absolutely cheese people to death. And relating to that, the fact that most of the new legendaries they pump out are complete crutch and absolutely broken.
    I'm sure there's more I could talk about but I can't think of it right now so TLDR:
    Game is being ruined by extremely common crutch legendary weps and enchants, and everything is super easy to do and get now resulting in a lower skill floor from worse players being able to play the game (It's not too rare that I see a max level with bell and a legendary weapon who can't parry m1s. Once upon a time you could expect someone to be atleast semi-competent if they had those.)

    this game has enough replayabiliy the issue is the endgame. as you said after finishing a build there's only chime or some meaninglessness ganks and basically nothing else. I hope that conquest would fix this issue but with all honesty I think conquest would just end up like chime and it would be cancer to play. regardless they should stop with the weekly updates because they're only ruining the game with every new broken weapon they add

    He's entirely right with the legendary weapons there's a class of legendary for every single weapon type basically, and I don't understand how you can make a weapon with 2 types of burn on hit then give it hyperarmor on 2 crits and then give it 5 crits, like what???? Also like can we get some more oaths? I swear if I see another *Insert Legendary Weapon* with dawnwalker Im gonna lose it. I mean when was the last time you saw someone with a leg wep and like visionshaper or blindseer.(More rant below)
    I think 2 weeks for an update is a fucking great idea, because I don't have wait for that new legendary with a unparryable crit that gets nerfed next update and it can just be balanced off the bat, and maybe if they add more QOL people would enjoy the game more, for example why not some more capes, or how about a monster that instead of making it harder by giving hp and damage, maybe it would require you to parry it or something rather than me using wardens blades and spamming m1 like breh.

      They’ll have way more time to think of better things rather than just.. new mantra they thought of in a few seconds.
      Content would probably be much different, and they’ve admitted to not being able to add certain things due to weekly update constraints.
      Plus yes, polish, which goes a long way.
