So happy for all your success Jason. Have been a supporter from day one and used to watch your programing streams from the start. Happy to be a lifetime supporter, thanks for all you and your team have done!!
Firstly, thank you for what you have created Jason. Because of LaunchBox more & more people started to get interested in the Emulation community as a whole. I have worked and still working with many frontends and nothing come close to LaunchBox/BigBox in my opinion. Secondly, very cool Gaming Room mate. I love the size of the room & they way it is organized. Great collection. Beautiful arcade although personally I prefer the Taito Vewlix (or Chewlixs) which I installed LaunchBox on many of them with the dynamic banner. BigBox have this amazing feature which some times people forget about (extend screen feature). Lastly, thank you to all LaunchBox team and cant wait to see the next update.
Hey jason - I am new to launchbox and the game emulation community as of this year. It has been a fun hobby largely due to the Launchbox program. I started helping out with the launchbox database and felt compelled to speak out about the Bible verses on each page. It was really nice to see. thanks for being outspoken about your faith - it serves as a good reminder for me to do the same. Take care.
Hi Lee, welcome to the scene, and thanks for helping out on the database. That is all wonderful to hear. This project would not exist without the Lord, that is for sure. I feel like my life is just one big blessing from the Lord. :)
Fantastic video. I just recently paid for bigbox and now I'm happy that my money is supporting a good guy and giving me great software to make my arcade look great and allow me to play multiple platforms. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the new updates in the new year.
Just bought today after poking at "the other option"... what a nightmare THAT software is as a 30+ year IT guy.... started watching ETAs videos on launch and big box, and went ahead and took the plunge. Will upgrade to the lifetime between now and the next year. I've been running raspberry pi machines for a while and after getting a steam deck, I'd like to step up my game. I built all of my cabs myself as a hobbyist wood worker. This is next level stuff, just need to cobble together another newer hardware PC to run it. Great work you've done! It's how it should be!!!! Thanks and keep up the great work!!!!
A great watch Jason and everything you have is well deserved. Your ideas, knowledge and passion has brought the wonder that is retro gaming to 10s of thousands if not more that may never have got into the scene. Long may your success continue.
Arcade build looking slick! I take my hat off to you and thanks to you I was able to build my arcade. Hobby and my passion grew because of you I have to thank you!
Glad to see you on camera and doing some videos! Thanks for the amazing software, I tell everyone I can about it, it's the best front end out there by far! Take care, and may God bless you and your family!
Thanks for the video !!! Very nice to see the launchbox office !!!! Thank you all you guys for this great software .. this make our arcades look amazing !!! I’ve been using launchbox for around 3 years now… BIG THANKS
Nice cabinet! I built a vewlix clone with a 25” ultra widescrren monitor as virtual marque and I love how big box manages it. Thanks a lot for your great work
Nice cab, love the artwork! Cool to see behind the scenes too. That room is nice...big & layed out well...I always found I am more productive with more room & organized.
Thank you Piper. Yeah, me too. I used to cram most of that stuff in a much smaller office, and yeah, it's a lot harder to keep it clean and be productive.
What a great room Jason. I just moved to a new house and built a theater / game room. I should do a tour when its more finished out. Would be great to see what other people of setup as well.
Woah this is so cool to see! Great cabinet and that room is giant dude. Thats so fun! Live it up. Id love to see more some more videos with you and the team
Great seeing you in a video again, Jason. Looks like a room full of fun. The best way to justify buying a new (expensive) gaming PC is that the the old one will give the kids an upgrade. 😅
@@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC I'm still using my 3/4 scale arcade machine from Rec Room Masters that I got years ago. I've been using Big Box since I built it, and the best front end just keeps getting better.
Great tour! Your room is well thought out. It's great to see that you are into Sim Racing. I would love a dedicated launcher for arcade racing games. Congratulations on your continued success. I love your product.
Thank you James. Big Box should work pretty well as a dedicated launcher for racing games. We are using the racing cab to make it better for those kinds of setups.
Great tour Jason, its so humbling when you see the creator of the software you love having very similar interests and ideas for how you want your tech to work compared to your own setup. Love the 'Cade, you've got me thinking about an active marquee now for mine :S One thing I'd like to just put in your head although looking how you are, I'm pretty sure it's probably already floated around up there. You must use or at least be familiar with Plex...I don't know exactly how it would look, but I would love to one day see this sort of client/server setup for launchbox. I appreciate with emulators that would be difficult but mainly, just the file serving aspects and media. You have one server setup for all your games on all platforms then each client can select the platforms/playlists they want on setup, launchbox then actively serves up that content so no duplicating of roms is required and media downloads in the background over lan rather than redownloading from the net. All emulators just install locally. Anyway this is most definitely the wrong forum for this, but this video just got me thinking and when you mentioned the dos part, it just hit that you like the interconnectivity of it all just as much as I do, have a great day and well done/thanks etc for the software, been using it for about 5 years I think now (if its that old lol) and nothing comes close to this day.
Nice video, always interesting to see the people behind the product! I can recommend the Servostick if you end up changing the 4/8 way solution - they're just Sanwa JLW sticks with a servo, so they have that really familiar feel to them. Are they the goldleaf buttons? I used to have those but ended up changing them out for the Ultralux buttons, just preffered that microswitch feel, but the goldleafs are great too Interesting layout - I always feel like they look busy, but in practice it must functionally be pretty amazing, it's not like you're gonna accidentally pretty the wrong button or anything. The Lit buttons makes the decals look cool, they almost look digital in the video
Good to hear on the ServoStick. I've ordered a couple already so hopefully they'll be much better than the Mag-Stik Plus ones. Yes, they're all GoldLeaf buttons. Yeah, I've felt them both and I've decided I'm good with the GoldLeafs, though they did take a little getting used to. Thanks much. :)
@@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC Nice, sounds like you have your ideal setup! For me I took the springs out the Ultralux plungers and that was perfect for me, had the tactility of the microswitch but the light touch of something like a sanwa button (I think the Ultralux buttons are a pretty heavy press by default) Enjoy the machine!
The cabinet turned out fantastic Jason! I admit I wasn't that impressed when you said on the forum you were using a pixelcade marquee. The last time I looked they were only selling those LED marquees. Now that the have have LCD marquees, I might have to upgrade my old cabinet with one. I also dig your M-Audio monitor speakers on one of your PC setups (@ 22:50) . I have a pair of the M-Audio AV-40s in one of my Jukeboxes and they are loud! Congrats on all your success.
Flashing a Linux build of Launchbox/Big Box to a hard drive would be Epic. It is hard to keep roms from another hard drive connected to Batocera. This is where Launch box/ Big box shines. Just remember to turn off secure boot in the bios or usb hard drives will not boot linux builds for some reason.
5 years years, huh? Have you not shaved your beard in that time frame either? I barely recognized you. Lol. But seriously, thanks for the video and for everything that you and your team do. I bought a lifetime license years ago and have been slowly trying to learn everything that Launchbox can do to build my ultimate setup. Keep up the great work and I hope to see you in more videos.
Hey Jason, Love the build and the room setup. I have been wanting to redo my 1st one that I built back in 2015 to something like this and this gives me a good starting point. You from Colorado looking at that hat? Thanks for putting out such great software been on board since you very first release of LB.
Very cool!!! Please Keep up the great work!! You and your team do amazing work. Maybe team up with Batocera to see how to port Launch box/Big box to linux. RetroBat is basically Batocera on windows and vice Versa. I’m a huge fan of launch box/big box. The only thing I can think of to improve it would be a way to check and rename roms against a database so we can get perfect sets of video snaps and box art. All of the Disney games on the Wii always have a hard time downloading box art and video snaps.
@@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC it would be awesome if the port is an all in one solution with built in emulators that can either be manually or automatically updated. All of your work is greatly appreciated by the retro community!!
I used Ultimarc Magsticks on my cabinet for a few years but ended up replacing them with UItimarc Ultrastik which automatically changes modes between 8 way and 4 way via software.
@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC Can I ask what system you are using for your gaming shelves? Is it omniwall? Or wallcontrol? Just curious. Love the setup. Thanks. Also a launch box/big box Subscriber. 😎
Hi Jason, I have an problem with Launchbox. I have alot of games and everytime I start Launchbox, it completly fills up the RAM and shuts down. Is there any way to fix this issue without uninstalling Lauchbox? Thank you very much for showing us your amazing gameroom!
