Finally, someone pointing out that Soraka is an agressive lane bully, obviously her damage falls off late game, but she's one of the highest dps champs early game due to her Q base damage and low CD, and the fact it heals her too means you just can't trade with her.
Like supports finally had something fun to play with. No longer were we stuck with only healing on enchanter. So many different fun builds with the new Echoes and Font of life. Then riot noticed Support was having fun... and they took it from us.
I played Soraka yesterday with other 4 premades on flex. She is broken if you're team have brains, we had 3 tanks and Soraka/Kogmaw bot lane, they just peel us and it's GG. I did 60k healing in a 28 minute game. But yeah, I did try to go enchanters on solo-queue, and it's just not fun, I prefer to go Zyra/Brand/Heimi/Senna because in solo-queue, my team-mates life-points aren't worth much, they are useless even if they have 900000 hp.
Soraka has been my favorite champ, glad to see her in a decent place right now. Ioki's so right about enchanters in general though, relying on other players is a losing strategy. The support role is too weak and the correct way to play it is as a carry. You can peel well, but team will just keep running and not look back to make use of survival. You can dominate vision, but team will walk over their marked wards. You can't shield or heal as much as champs that get those things for free on top of their other abilities. You can't push a rope.
Diana saying its better if you die instead of them... are they stupid? You not dead=them not dead. It what 'Raka do, she is in fact the best in the game at making the not dead happen. Even when grievous wounds was really strong her healing was strong enough to straight up power through it. After a game like this I really want to see some enchanters AD, when the support snaps style. If you don't want to full send the build you could build hybrid and ramp the AP ratios on the marksman items. Could go Reaper Soraka for a death dealing vibe or Admiral Renata as a commissar. Janna is another that could take advantage of the baked in MS that several marksman items have and she has self peel.
Ioki the true GSA and GOAT of league, the versatility every support main desires to have and the confidence to back it up. But also please try hybrid scaling tank Senna. Heartsteel, titanic hydra, demonic embrace Tanky runes like grasp Flex items are op either way you choose it. Trust me I'm in diamond 1 in Korean servers it's op, been scaling the ladder awhile now.
positioning is key, always think about the absolute worst case scenario (does enemy zed have flash ult? does my ally have instant cc to save me? do i have flash? etc. consider all these things)
i never understood burn, since it only give syou like... 20 dmg not offten and in the end you only do like 300-800 dmg off it.. big fan of gathering storm
Yh that kinda annoyed me especially in lane when cait was like 60% health and it's just free. It does cost mana but i think it's ok to pop one when adc is abt 60%
I'm not really feeling this on Soraka personally. Maybe on Sona because she shields AND heals, but the new Moonstone feels out of place on Soraka to me. Also, Diana's a whole ass dumbass. "If you die and we don't that's good?" If your healer stays alive that means THEY CAN KEEP THE TEAM ALIVE LMAO
So... when the support item is legit built to allow (26 cs per 6 mins?), why is it a cardinal sin to use your item to its limit? That's like if an adc goes cull and misses every cs. Oh wait..
the second that teammate said "if you die instead of us that's good" I would have showed up to each fight and healed only myself from then on lmao

Second wind is better on Soraka because you build a lot of hp and it stacks on your hp pot and your self heal

18:45 warmogs second has been my go to rush. It gives just enough bonus health to utilize the passive and it makes it so I can just keep healing

the first "actual" support I ever played was Morgana, but I was also a Fiddlesticks OTP I would play him Mid and Support (way before rework)

Solo killing rengar was hilarious, i find a lot of people underestimate the sustain and damage of Soraka Q early.
I play battle Soraka - Liandry, Demonic and Static and Ionic boots and QEW skill order. And this is extremely broken. And more fun. :)
