#2 War Diary Western Front 1944

After the diary of Rudolf Petersen, we will now continue with Peter's War. Peter was the commander of Rudolf's Tank in Russia. Now Rudolf and Peter are back on the battlefields of Normandy as a part of the Panzer-Lehr-Division.
You will get here about 50 Parts of the war diaries.

Now it gets interesting 🤔 my dad fought in the Ardennes counter-offensive with the 17th Airborne Division about seven months after D-Day. It would be interesting to see if Rudy was in the Bastogne area then, too

These guys should get the Iron Cross for wishful thinking. Panzer Lehr did not do well in Normandy first getting mauled by the British around Caen and then another trouncing at St Lo by the Americans!. Orders were to advance to the beaches, but they failed in every attempt and like all other units of Army Group West they were forced onto the defensive.

Nice analysis big brain. Overwhelming sea firepower and air superiority can do that to an enemy. They did pretty well for what they were up against. Study more.

@@ryphraph604 Not really by 1941 the British were producing more aircraft than the Germans. But they had a lot more land and sea to defend. While the Luftwaffe didn't operate much out of Europe
