मुझे ये गाना बहुत ही पसंद है।
1975 में श्रीलंका ब्रॉडकास्टिंग कॉरपोरेशन में सवेरे 7:30 से 8:00 बजे तक पुराने गानों का सिलसिला जारी रहता था तो इसमें यह गाना हमेशा सुनाई पड़ता था।
1984 में मैं अक्सर इसका कैसेट खोजने जाता था तो दुकानदार लोग मुझे धर्मेंद्र हेमा मालिनी की जुगनू फिल्म का कैसेट थमा देते थे मैं कहा करता था कि पुराना चाहिए तो कहते थे कि यही पुराना है। फिर मैं उन्हें समझाता था कि भाई रफी साहब और नूरजहां का उसमें यह गाना था "यहां बदला वफा का" तब लोग कहते थे कि मेरे पास नहीं है। मैं यह भी कहता था कि 1948 में आया था तो कहते थे इतना पुराना नहीं मिलेगा ।
वह तो भला हो यूट्यूब का कि अब प्रत्येक गाना लगभग लगभग मिल ही जाता है। और अपना शौक पूरा होते रहता है।

This was my Late Grandfather Jawad Husain’s favourite song. I remember him singing this one back when he was battling cancer in 2014. The most Noble man I have ever met. Man actually had an army of people ready to die for him after all his societal contributions in multiplied ways like building Masjids, Mandir’s, helping local Dalits financially. He built a whole kingdom in our hometown. People of my generation there respect me when I go back to my place in spite of me never staying there for more than a month. May Allah SWT bless his soul and grant him Jannat.

What a lilting rendition
Rafi saab's initial song before he made his own stamp. Definitely shade of KL Saigal in this song. Nasal singing seem to be popular in that era. Suhaani Raat Dal Chuki in Dulaari was huge turning point for Rafi Saab and then his voice matured to the golden era in 50s/60s.
That said this song is great. Noorjehan had the best voice pre lata era.
