The Spyker is a piece of art. These are really special
KEEP IT. Nobody else is doing this content. Would love to see some POV videos in the future like at the end of Jason Camissas Icons-that really makes the fantasy feel real for us. LOVE IT ED.
I'm glad to see you have accomplished the goal of looking like you won the lottery 10 to 20 years ago like you talked about was the best way to go. Congratulations on all your successes Ed.
04 rich baby!
I didn’t know it was possible to be old money and new money at the same time

I had the rare priveledge of sitting in a c8 when they were being paraded around at the Kirkland Concours d'Elegance. What an amazing car.
I got to sit in a racing version of a Spyker car at a tradeshow in Amsterdam once! The history of these modern Spykers is absolutely nuts. As a dutchman I am proud that in our country with so many rules and regulations the Spyker team made such an eccentric beautiful design work for a limited time. They made their mark and car enthusiasts around the world are finally giving it the recognition it deserves (Van Gogh-like after death). Enjoy it while you can!
I’ve always seen these as the “poor mans” pagani. Beautiful from every angle, rare, unique, and amazing attention to detail.
Rich woman's Figaro is how I see it!
As a Dutchman i approve! Shame it ended the way it did, pretty unique cars!
Zekers gelukkig is er een man die heeft alle tools gekocht en maakt nu alle chassis rijbaar toch een stukje Nederlandse trots.
As a Belgian this is the only time i'm gonna say : good job dutchies i love your product! (yeah maybe im also gonna say that when I go to the coffeeshop)
@@memorimusic420 haha yep nr 1 export to Belgium from the netherlands😜
@@rogerlafaille9938 🤣 🤣
Such a beautiful piece of automotive artwork. Very rarely seen in action. Great to see you behind the wheel of such a rare beast of a vehicle.
I got to drive one when they first came out. The details they put into it are unreal.
The Spyker is absolutely timeless and would absolutely love to own one!
Shortly after Spyker bought Saab the owner of Just Saab in Cincinnati bought a C8. It's a beautiful car, I love the interior design and of course the exposed shifter linkage. The oddest thing were what appeared to be exposed stainless steel sheet metal screws on the front splitter. They didn't look bad, but its like they were an afterthought.
Just seeing the view from this cars cockpit in video games translates how special and uniquely imagined this car is. I loved this car from the first time I'd seen it introduced in a car mag
Saw a similar spec at a showroom in Tokyo when I was a kid and I've always thought it was one of the coolest things on wheels
Hey Ed, what a unique car that is. You're very fortunate to have it to enjoy. Cheers!
Beautiful car. I fell in love with the spyker when it first came out.
I love them too, very different, those switches are so cool, i like a dash thats like an expensive chrome espresso machine ha ha
They had one of these in the showroom at Len Stolar Audi in Owings Mills. I dunno if its still there but this is still one of the most interesting cars I've ever seen.
Basic instinct 2 with Sharon Stone. great intro scene when she drive this spider
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing this special car, I loved when Top Gear did a review on it back in 2009 and I haven't seen it since. The car was also featured in Steve Martin's Pink Panther for a brief moment too.
Been lucky enough to see 1 Spyker. Very very cool cars, the emotions driving this car would be crazy!
I could drive this all day everyday..and i could look at it just as long. It looks like art.
Can't wait to see some of these cars in person!
Beautiful car almost like a Dutch precursor to a Pagani
Got to see this car while it was sitting at curated. So divine.
Spyker actually started as a car manufacturer, and started making planes after that.
Was at a car show in 2019 in Amsterdam were the whole lineup from Spyker was.
Feast for the eyes.
Also when I was about 14 at ams it was the launch of this car coudnt get over the styling still a piece of automotive art
"A World War One fighter jet..." Think about that for a second.
Spyker is one of the most beautiful cars around in the world.
Yeeeooo that's where I know you from!!!! Motorcars of Atlanta on roswell rd!!!!
I have seen one of these. It was black and orange if I remember correctly. I turned around to get a better look. It was in south fort worth close to Crowley and Burleson. Saw it about 7 years ago
Very cool, I was introduced to spyker through the gran turismo series. I always thought it was an amazing car.
I remember the first time I saw this car in the movie “WAR” with jet li
no fighter jetts in ww1 sir lol
great content as always
I saw these Spyker cars at the 2005 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Ed lives in Test Drive Unlimited and I’m so jealous
Its so epic Ed, amazing stuff.
Sharon Stone drove the very same Lotus Turbo Esprit,, Just like mine. !! Red on tan .. !!
I love the interior of the Spyker but the exterior was always just a bit too odd for me
Been waiting for this video
What’s up,Ed? Hope all is well
Next we want to see a Gumpert
Ed, I love your talk as always, but there were NO fighter jets in WW1. You almost fooled me, haha.
Do you still have plans to get the 4-spoke Steering wheel?
I would love to. Gotta save up!
Sharon Stone put me on
Super mooie auto! Echt bijzonder.
Ed, tell us what happened to Sri Lankan president's W222 Maybach. Cannot find its whereabouts and it was definitely repairable.
I really love this car.
heard one at pebble beach and it was insane
Around 6:48 you say that the Spyker is so super rare it is unlikely to have seen one at all. I have seen your, well her at the time, Spyker. To keep things anonymous I will leave out the name of the shop out but I worked next door to the shop that installed Missy's stereo.
These cars are poised to appreciate unlike so many others. You definitely have to get the original steering wheel, the interior is sorely missing it.
I think this car feel like a Pagani before pagani made those "analog" interiors
Lovely interior but that big warning sticker on the passenger's side would bug me!!
Homie said "ww1 fighter jet" haha
Nice
Where you been, Ed? You’re missed.
Fix that crack in the roof glass before it spreads! Interesting car.
I had a repair guy put resin in there to stabilize it.
That's a cool car.
Get ya freak on!
🎼🎶🎶Work it🎶🎶🎶 Ed😉
Its like a dutch walmart pagani, instead of a supercar it’s a sportscar
Its a bit messed up to announce to public, that Sylvester Stallone is interested in buying the car. He likely would want that to be kept private
Ah those WW1 fighter jets .....
Glad to have been the 6000th like 👍
ok now i believe that you are using youtube and vinwiki to increase the value of your own cars lmao
Ed I have found the last one of production 550 Barcheta
It is for sale in South Africa Cape Town
I work in the city this car was made in 👌
World War 1 fighter jet, huh? 🤔
WW1 fighter jet?
Get a carbonfiber roof made. Roof scoop it!
Uber cool 😎
I've changed my profile pic to me and a Spyker GT3 that I seen in storage 10 tears ago. The Spyker C8 Double 12R
Ed, out of all the cars you own, I believe in my opinion the Spyker is the coolest. Seems everyone nowadays owns a Murcielago, Aventador, Scuderia or R8. What you have there is something special. Cool factor, I would put it up there with a Veyron. Enjoy the car!
It’s because of social media lol it’s distorted your image of reality. Get off of social media for a month and tell me how many murci’s, aventadors, r8s or scuds you see 😂
@@cdula26 Great point 👉
@@cdula26sorry, the point stands. I’d say any Spyker is cooler than any of its contemporary lambos etc. Koenigsegg is the only one cooler imo
@@Blortoblorto tbh same with Pagani appolo Bugatti u dont see them too much and it makes them so cool when u do see them
Ed Bolian buying a 2300 mile Spyker is the real life embodiment of “A broken clock is right twice a day.” 😂 Congrats Ed!
Wow a world war 1 fighter jet would be pretty cool. I'm sure everyone else would be surprised lol.
I came here for the WWI fighter jet comment.
i still think its super sick that missy drives stick supercars lol. makes me like her even more
Ya I would not have expected to hear that about her. Everyone with loads of money is gonna pick up a Lamborghini or Ferrari. Adding a spyker to your collection proves it’s not about status but a real passion for the cars. Very cool.
@@huntersharddrive6951 exactly. And hell I don't mind buying cars for status cuz if I could afford it I would too. But adding an enthusiast vehicle of this caliber is so cool to me.
I think her music is really bad, however her taste in cars is really, really good.
@@axe2grind244 well record sales and all the awards and shit she’s won for writing. Executive producing etc say otherwise. Music is subjective I get that but everyone has a missy song they like if they’d give it a chance . It’s not like she’s trippy redd
Her chauffeur drove it.
The first time I saw one of these was on test drive unlimited 2 and I absolutely love this car
I grew up loving the brand. It's one of the few things I take pride in as a Dutch person. Always loved the Spyker cars (Donkervoort is a great Dutch brand too). Spyker just has a rocky existence, sadly. But yea, great cars, seen a couple different models here and there in real life and I'm a huge fan.
What do you think of the Spyker?
Brilliant. Check out their Le Mans racecars. 😎
They look brilliant and love the quirkiness as Doug would. 😂👌🏽👌🏽
Such a unique car from the country famous for wooden clogs, windmills and Gouda Cheese! Always enjoy Ed videos!
They are also known for having worlds tallest people so seems fitting for Ed. My grandmas side is from holland I’m 6’4” 225lbs
issimi did a video on it, i think it got hydrallic steering so it lotus like, porsche doesnt feel a good with electric steering
You don't know they rule the world !? Check out ASML ...
I think Ed is from Holland actually. He is tall and he likes orange unnaturally lot.
3:32 It feels like a WWI fighter jet? That would be very special considering there weren't any fighter jets until WWII. I know I couldn't narrate while driving anywhere near as good as Ed which is why it stuck out. Regardless, the Spyker is a great acquisition.
shut up
Haven't yet watched all of this, I hope you end up keeping it. So different than the rest of your collection.
Back when Spyker still existed I worked at Schiphol Airport. One of the shipping companies that was close to my work shipped all the Spykers around the world including the Spyker Racing team. I saw a lot off Spykers back then. Still an amazing car these days.
Awesome video ed, not too long, not rushed. Perfect length in my opinion. 🇺🇸💚🏁
Love the Spyker content! I hope you keep it a long time and and we get to see lots of videos with it. I’ve always loved the spyker and would love to own one some day.
Always appreciated Ed's willingness to actually use his cars, even the expensive ones. I die a little everytime I see a huge fleet of cars that just sit in a garage or warehouse while the owner waits to see which ones will appreciate the most.
rich guys having 30 cars in their garage that they never drive isn't even them owning cars, it's just an arbitrary d1cc measuring contest. Display of money to make themselves feel better about themselves, there's nothing more to it.
Ed actually cares immensely about cars so I have zero issues with this lol
@@ralkia its called an investment
Two actual car videos from Ed is wonderful. Thank you EB!
and I think you meant to say made in the Netherlands
Ed @ 3:40 There were no world war one fighter jets jets weren’t invented until the late years of World War II back then They were called biplanes and we’re incredibly slow
The original Spyker C8 wheel is just too cool to not use
This is Ed the salesman looking for a double up. I love it
For my own taste, I prefer the Gallardo steering wheel over the sewer valve handle, but overall, I really dig Spykers. There was one for sale in Canada a couple years ago
I've always been fascinated with these cars! I work on a lot of exotics and these for some reason have always been on my bucket list. I really like the look.
What an absolute gorgeous car! Good lord it’s beautiful and so unique looking!👏
Is it worth it? Can you work it?
Put that thang down, flip it and reverse it.
my respect for missy E ,who i was always a fan of just went much higher
Sadly soon all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-(
In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!!! (BABBVEN LAWS AND TEBBVEN ORDERS)!
So a car for sociopaths that don’t realize the first jet engine flew 21 years after World War One ended? LOL! :) I had to troll ya buddy.
If I'm not mistaken Missy Elliott also had a Countach
Hey Ed, this car is very quirky indeed, I'm sure that it's a blast to drive!!! Thanks for sharing this exciting video!!! 👍👍🎃
+1, can't improve on this comment
Random idea : Hoovie, Tavarish, and Ed vs. Wizard, Car Ninja, and Magic Mike on The Floor Is Lava (Netflix). The host is a car guy, so I figure this would be classic.
