This is the same guy that got called out by T Mac for producing a chart claiming Rudy Gay was more clutch than Kobe. It's obvious that this guy has an agenda and tries to cherry pick stats to substantiate his agenda. The UA-cam site Uncut Hoops did a good job of commenting on his DPOY claims. Those of us that actually saw MJ's entire career don't think that this award is what makes him the greatest we've ever seen in his prime.

Of course not. He's jumped on this thing with tangenial evidence and didn't bother looking at the away games for issues.
So he's basically telling you he's trying to discredit one guy in one year and only his home stats and not potentially help that same guy recover stats that may or may not have been removed from away games.

If this is supposed to move the needle in the goat debate which isn't a debate it fails miserably. Even if MJ's steals and blocks were inflated no one who followed MJ would deny that he played both sides of the ball. In Lebron's case there are so many clips of him just standing around playing zero defense or making a half ass effort on defense but of course they don't want to talk about that. Even though you don't have to dig for that footage too hard. And near the end the guy telegraphs his bias. I question his objectivity and motives.

If Haberstroh is saying MJ's steals are inflated, than the other team's turnovers must be inflated too if the game logs are incorrect. But as of right now, none of his 5 games sample reveals Jordan had more steals than the opponent's team turnovers.
Jordan STILL gets to 200+ steals and 100+ blocks if you double Jordan's road totals for 1986/87,
while discarding his home totals. While averaging 37ppg on the other end. So even if you claim his
1988 numbers are inflated, he still got robbed of the DPOY award in 1987.
Did they check if LeBalco’s numbers were inflated??

In another interview he said this was common place back then for them to do in home games so we don’t know how long this has actually been going on so why just stop at Jordan and he’s already admitted that he started looking into it thinking about the goat debate so what if he would have looked at the player that came in second place to Jordan in 88 for the DOPY and found that they were doing the same thing for him in home games that would still mean that Jordan won the award, but they’re so biased and trying to destroy Jordan‘s Legacy. They just wanted to focus on him.

If the “home cooking” of stats was league-wide pretty much during the entirety of David Stern’s reign (and it goes back to Wilt/Russell’s days, according to Bob Ryan), why single out MJ that one season, when every star player’s home stats were enhanced, supposedly?

There were definitely larger home / away difference back in the day, but a lot of that had to do with travel... commercial flights, grueling back to back games, etc.

The dpoy award is not one of the main things people say against Lebron. It’s definitely brought up, but the 6 rings, 6 mvp’s, and 10 scoring titles are the main things always brought up. What hurts his argument even more is the fact that he didn't release the footage of those 5 games so that they can be independently reviewed. He has those VHS tapes in his possession. If he's so confident on what he observed on those 5 tapes, if that footage does in fact support what he alleges in his article, why hasn't he made the footage available for impartial evaluation? We have to simply take his word on what he observed in those 5 games?!!

Things like DPOY (started in 1983), Finals MVP (1969), All Defense (1969), Steals & Blocks (1974) and Turnovers (1978). All of those things are subject to biased (the Awards), goofiness (the Awards), and cooking or incompetence (score keeping). But I'd rather have more info and opinion.
