We have not test them side by side, but the grind quality should be comparable while the taste it produce can be different due to different burr. From my recollection, the moonshine give more body and the A5 burr give slightly more clarity. Operation wise, we like the autostop and magnetic catch cup, easier to clean, and doens't have to be plug in . Lagom mini is easier to adjust the grind size due to the top adjustment.
I purchased the A4 variant from Femobook for my travel espresso grinder and I like the overall form factor, etc. But the flavor from the burr set is just shy of terrible. I've owned and extensively used dozens of espresso grinders and have never had a burr set that resulted in such mundane flavor: Dark, medium or light roasts making no difference. I've ground about 2Kg of beans with very little flavor difference. Communicating with Femobook about this issue was...frustrating at best and without resolve.
Hey! Unfortunately, we haven't test A4 yet, only A4Z. From what I understand the A4 burr is specialized for espresso. That seems to be frustrating for sure. Thank you for sharing your experience. I wondering if they would be willing to exchange it for an A5 for you. Have you tested the A5?
@@roguewavecoffeeco Femobook wants to charge me another $300 to swap burrs & carrier! This, after I e-mailed them, within a few days of receiving my new A4, feedback on how compressed the flavor is for the A4 burr-set! The burr carrier appears to be pressed together, so no discernible way to swap burrs...
@@roguewavecoffeeco Exactly! Which raises the question: Why is Femobook marketing/advertising/posturing the A4 as an "espresso" grinder?! A little more than light on cred.
Hi! Unfortunately, we have not compare side by side. From our experience, The A5 would likely be a much better filter grinder but not as good for espresso grinder.
I would be interested in seeing the a68 reviewed, thanks for this review!
Maybe at another time! We do want to do more videos :) Thank you for watching!
More Coffee With Ply!
Cooooooooooooooooooool! 🙌
Have you heard any feedback on the a3?
Hi there, we have not try the A3 yet. sorry about thsi.
Hey! How is the A5 vs the A4Z for filter coffees ?
Both are really nice. A4Z produce coffee with relatively a bit more acidity and clarity, and the A5 produce sweeter coffee. We will have A4Z in soon.
Awesome! I wanna buy the A5, any promotion for pre-order Ply?
Thanks! Email us :)
How’s this compare to Lagom mini? Taste and operation wise? I love commandante

@@roguewavecoffeecoHow is the A4Z? Can they grind for espresso?
A4Z is terrible for espresso haha. Very clean and bright, but flat and muted. It produce too little fines needed for espresso.

How is the femobook compared to the niche zero?
