I wrote about 60 hardcore country songs over the years I was also nominated male vocalist of the year for indie artist I didn’t win but just being nominated was awesome to me.
I also had a string of number one hits on the uncharted zone tv show I had nine number ones in all with uztv.
So I kelp on selling my cd’s and recording other singers and producing their music for about ten years before closing up shop I got a chance to buy my own restaurant that was always another dream and it came true so on Friday and Saturday nights we did karaoke that gave me a chance to sing again man I loved it and the crowd seem to like it to.
I had that place 3 years before selling it. Now I am working from home again writing books and promoting other people.

I was born in Montgomery Alabama. Raised in Kentucky, still there. Upon visiting Alabama kinfolk usually every year. I would cry when it was time to leave. At 13 or 14 yrs old, I'd feel ashamed. I just couldn't hold it back. I look back know, there was a lot of love that cant be never again. Makes me want to cry now, and it feels good.

It shows BOCEPHUS is human like everybody else. Don't feel bad everybody has memories of our parents and childhood home. And when we cry it reminds us we still carry them in our hearts and miss them alot.

I loved his early music. Allot of people dont even realize he sang those songs. Like all for the love of sunshine, and Eleven Roses and the last love song. He had some great songs.

Glenda Cooper I am actually a bigger fan of Hank Jr's MGM material, and this is the material that you're talking about, than I am of his most known stuff. The mountain fall changed his voice as well as his face.

Very true, and even with All For The Love Of Sunshine being his very first number 1 single, most folks wouldn’t even know it was him singing if they heard it, and many others even if they SAW him singing it. I was born in 82 so I wasn’t able to see him live before the accident but my Uncle saw him in 72 and said he was a drunken mess and with him being just as big of a fan as I am said it was very difficult to watch. I really hate that it even happened to him but in a way I’d say it saved his life. Ironic I know haha

What a great Story. I was there there when Hank Jr. and The Bama Band played that year. I was a young lad, and my parents took me to the show. Just like you, I went to every one of the memorial celebrations, until they stopped having them at Garland. I'm 55 years old, and I've been to about 20 Hank Williams Jr. Concerts over the years, but none have ever been as good as that show was on that day. That was Hank Williams Jr. at his very best. The only other two shows that were even close to that one, was once in Montgomery at The Civic Center, and one at Mobile Municipal Auditorium in Mobile, Alabama.
Merle Kilgore was a Country Music legend as you know. He had many songs that were recorded by many Country Music legends. He told me at a concert one time, He could sit at home and live nicely on his songwriting royalties, but he just enjoyed touring with Hank Jr and opening his shows. Merle was a very nice guy. I got to know Merle good enough, that I would call his office up in Cullman Alabama about a month before Hank Jr.'s Shows in the area, and he would always have me and my girlfriend a backstage pass waiting at Hank Jr's Bus. He was a true man of his word.
My Music Room is lined with autographed Merle Kilgore and Hank Jr. Photos, and backstage passes from over the years. After Merle passed away, Hank Jr. became more reclusive and refused to sign autographs or take photos. It's like his whole attitude changed after Merle passed. I think Merle Kilgore helped keep him grounded and down to earth. Anyway, Thanks for sharing that great story! It's was very interesting and enjoyable, hearing you tell it. It brought back lot's of memories for me.👍

A man I know from around Queenstown road in Trussville Alabama name Joe Needham said Hank Williams Jr use to come by his mother's house and have her cook for him she also said to me he liked her food and Joe use to say that the only time he would drink wiskey is when Hank Williams Jr would come to town . Troy and Joe mom has passed away and the old house burned up a few years or so ago . But that family has always been nice to me just regular folks the few times I met them . My mom had passed away and I grieved a long time and his mom was kinda in a part of my grieving .

Sir, thank you for this video. Just to let you know that it's no longer a cow pasture where the festival is held; it has been an extremely large barn type building for the last 20+ years I know because I've attended all except 3, sad to hear that Hank Jr must have been one of the times I missed...this past first weekend in June was the 42nd annual festival and my 40th time going (it isn't free anymore either); my grandparents brought me to the very first one back in 1980 and I've continued with my own family. I've seen Hank Jr. several times as well, but never in Georgiana... I once asked Mrs. Leona, who's been the guide there for the past 25 or so years, why they never seemed to have Jr on the lineup, sadly, I was told they couldn't afford him...I did want to let you know though that Hank Jr never lived in Georgiana as a child, because Lily moved herself and the children from there in 1937, I believe to Montgomery at that time; and Audrey raised Jr in Nashville at the Franklin Road house...Sorry for the novel I've written here but these 2 gentlemen are very dear to an old Alabama lady like me, I'll ramble on further... Praise God for helping you to beat cancer and I pray you never have to endure that again. God bless you and yours🙏
