Dude these Mic'd ups are amazing. Gives soo much insight on what the pros are looking for as far as ball reaction and the moves they make. I really hope you keep doing this some of the best bowling content available
I really wished I lived in the US simply to be apart of a production like this. As a film student and league bowler, I cannot express how much I am enjoying and loving this content style. Irregardless of whether you're serious into the sport or not, you can appreciate the repeatability, mental fortitude and comradeship of the athlete's through stuff like this. Thank you for doing it!
Great video - Man I loved it. Plus you had a two for one special. Watching and listening to both Pro’s working out their ball reaction especially when plan A is not working is just terrific . Thanks for posting.
Can't say enough how much I love this channel. These mic'd up segments are my favorites because I aspire to be out there on tour with these guys, and I learn so much hearing the pros in the moments we don't get to see on TV.
Absolutely love the mic'd up videos when you follow people. This shows great insight to what the bowlers talk about during the blocks. Love the content! Look forward to more amazing videos.
As many people have already said, this is by far the best insight into the PBA and what the pros do and deal with that I’ve seen. I’ve learned more in this 45 minutes than I have after 8 games at the lanes!
Fairly new subscriber here. I have to say, this is the closest thing to a bowling documentary that I've seen on UA-cam. The editing and the content are just amazing. I love the feel of these mic'd up videos. I can't get enough of this stuff! I'm shocked you don't have 10 times the subscribers that you do. This is outstanding work. Thank you so much!
@@TenPinLifeI've been bowling for 50 years and this tournament has beat up a lot of good bowlers. The scoring reflects what I'm talking about. The cream always seem s to rise to the top, with a few surprises here and there.
@@TenPinLife I watch every show. I just don't know who hangs with who on tour. Many of the guys putting out their own video, is bringing this to light for me and my family. We go to regionals here and there and my son is starting to bowl in them as well.
I love this series dude. You're absolutely KILLING it. Giving the best inside look to the PBA that normal league type bowlers never would see. Its really cool to see it all. I appreciate you and what you do my guy. Keep on keeping on! ✌️❤️😁 With recently having to give up bowling completely due to a back injury this is all I got now.
@@TenPinLife Only half way in... You out did yourself with this one! Awesome stuff! Hope Flow Bowling or PBA don't decide your stepping on their toes... This is PURE GOLD! Thank you for your hard work and expense to bring us this awesome content! I rarely watch the Ads, but for you I will! 😁
@@TenPinLife That's Good! I'm about 26 minutes in and this is so damn good... Really show cases what these guys deal with... very eye opening... Getting me some bowling edumacation! hahahaha
All those 9s and 7s really killed the momentum. I felt if a few of those strike and 1 less 7-10, they come up to that cut line. The dark code looks really good out of Prathers hand.
Can anyone tell me why the pros have their lifters sticking out of the finger holes than cut them back? I’ve been trying to find out why because I have not seen anyone in Australia do that but it seems everyone on the PBA does it
I know for me my finger inserts stick out due to the way my fingers are pitched in the ball, I use “vacuum grips” which is finger inserts that are not glued at the top all around like traditional finger inserts are. Basically the pro shop drills a small hole at the bottom and midway uses a bigger bit for the top half. Then puts the finger inserts in the ball glues them at the bottom and the back (finger pad side) (( it allows me to have room when my fingers swell with out changing grips, some ppl like the feel)). They have to be cut do to USBC rule which nothing is to be sticking out of the bowling ball.
I believe the more reverse pitch you have the more the grips stick out. I'm 2 handed and use reverse pitches and they stick out a lot. Cutting them helps out to keep them level with the hole. Plus as he said, USBC makes you cut them. If you go to nationals with them sticking out they will cut them but very horribly.
It's all about the pitch of the hole and the amount of time to do it the other way. To get the entire grip in without cutting it, vacuum insert or not, when you have more than .5" of pitch takes forever because you have to do it in phases. Plus, Kris actually sands his grips lightly to round out the rubber even more, so he actually never feels the cut edge.
Just wondering, are these hard to produce? I imagine that there is a ton of raw footage to sort through and edit. How do you keep track of it all and build a narrative in the final video?
Honestly, they’re not too bad. Since they’re sequential for the most part, it’s just about making sure I pick the good stuff in order. Thankfully, the narrative builds itself.
Great idea with the mic'd up on doubles. Not near as interesting in a singles format for obvious reasons. Loved seeing how patient you guys were, when you could have gotten frustrated from the lack of carry. Great lesson for the youngsters that are trying to follow your lead.

Agree. I watched this start to end and learned a ton. Great video! Cool of them to do it too!
This by far was the best inside look at a professional tournament I have watched. Way to go! I hope you get more players to do this with you.
That's super nice of you Jerry. Thanks!
Pleeeeease do more of these! This was amazing to watch.
Honestly, this video is really why the PBA needs more of these types of events.
I'd love to see the team challenge come back too!
Great Look into the PBA Tour.
I agree with everyone else, these mic’s up episodes are great.

A beautiful opportunity experiencing the complexities of the modern game and how the top pros work to solve the ever changing riddle of the lanes.
These two are so analytical, I couldn't have imagined this going any better with the amount of information they shared with one another.
seriously Ben, this is great. How hard is it to convince these guys to be mic'd up for you.
Glad you like it bud! This was actually their idea!

I like these mic’d ups way better then cuts of pros striking cause that ain’t the reality all the time especially with the patterns coming out now.
Striking is boring and a poor representation of the sport as a whole. The struggle is where it's at.
