Her spins suck, especialy those camel spins, but other than that this was a very good skate.

Приятно было услышать музыку Петра Ильича Чайковского. Красивая фигуристка, талантливая.

She should have skated a ballet number. It suits her skills better. Still a good skate though.

BTW Rosalynn should have won this event hands down. She had much harder jumps than Hamill and great overall skating. Hamill also wasnt in good of shape as 84 and 85, and it showed in some of her lack of sureness on jumps and being slower than usual. Hamill's spins were miles better, but still not enough in the end here. At the Challenge of Champions both girls skated their programs from the first round here exactly the same and Sumners won easily. I think Dick has less influence of Challenge of Champions which explains the different marks for basically the same skating.

All pro events were fixed, Dick Button payed the judges to put results the way he wanted. They werent competitions, but exhibitions with results already payed and determined ahead of time. Read the books of Elizabeth Manley and Lloyd Eisler and Toller Cranston just to name 3. They all admit that themselves and Toller was even a fucking judge at the event for years, and still admits that, LOL! In fact he was fired after 96 for giving Torvill & Dean 9.7 for one of their dances when the others gave a 9.9 or 10, for daring to score as he saw on the day rather than punching in the numbers and results Dick Button an Scott Hamilton who ran all pro events had instructed pre event.

This was back in the days of the simple two-digit scores. And triple jumps were not necessary. Imagine that now. Dorothy never did them and Rosalynn stopped doing them. She was lovely and did a good job.

I’m just amazed that just 2 years out from eligible skating, she completely quit doing triples.

She's a pro. No need to do the hard stuff!😀😀

I don't understand why she was second to Dorothy Hamill

Since pro events are fixed and have nothing to do with skating. Skating is irrelevant to the results of a pro competition in fact, it is merely for exhibition purposes. Dorothy was the only one of the skaters at the event from 84-87 who had an Olympic Gold, the others (Sumners, Zayak, Fratianne) had each failed in their quest for that, thus she was guaranteed the win for showing up, even if she had simply taken a huge crap on the ice and left. The fact she was the only one of those who couldnt even do a double axel anymore, let alone a triple, was irrelevant. From 88-91 none of the women invited had an Olympic Gold but with none of them (Sumners, Biellmann, Thomas, and a random who changed yearly with those 3) Debi Thomas was guaranteed the wins for being the most recent, for being black, and for the hype of her rivalry with Witt.

Exactly. Pro events were NOT real competitions, and anyone who dares claim they were should be shot in the head and executed for sheer stupidity. They were glorified exhibitions. Even though they were in no way real competitions with legit scoring though I miss them. They were lots of fun to watch.
