I just found your channel. I saw your post of Facbook about sharpening card scrapers. Great video. I bet you could use actual horn for the bow and retainer. Really neat stuff. I'll be watching.
Wow! Fanciest Nerf blaster I’ve ever seen! I’ve never heard the term “serving” - thanks for educating the novices out here. You really hid the PVC with the Sharpie job-niiiccceeeee.
I constructed almost the same device, last year. :) Putting some fiberglass stripes, Inside the PVC bow, drastly increases draw weight. This Type of Trigger mechanism doesnt really match for too much Power. But it might be one of the easiest to build. Fun Video!
Putting working material inside the bow near the neutral plane is the least mass efficient place to put it. This is a popular design in the DIY space but there’s a reason you don’t see it in higher quality bows. If you want more draw weight, better to simply design the bow for it. You want the core of the bow to be dimensionally stable yet light-a heavy, stiff core is opposite of what the core should be. Sorry for the rant, this is one of my personal crusades!
@@DanSantanaBows hehe.. you are sure are right about that. Sounds Logic. ;) Actually i was Really jerking around with that thing, as it was my first try on that field. but it worked quite satisfying.^
Beautifully done! Seems to be a fun project. I was not expecting this little devise to be so powerful.
Glad you like it!
It’s nerf or nothing😎
Or bows!
Uau!!!! I’ll make a few for my little nephews!! and than play all over the house!!!also what a beautiful dog!!!
Happy holidays!

Great toy! A have made a similar xbow as a present recently. Bow made from old hand saw blade. Mary Xmas!

Awesome! I also learned a new sound that my inner ear is not a fan of lol (the razor on PVC).

How about that! Thank you Dan, you pretty much answered everything I was thinking of.
I love this you inspired me to make my first pvc bow and I’m probably gonna make this now 😂
😎 👍🏼
Nice. I look forward to your full size version, with wooden bow. 👍
How dangerous is this?
A real crossbow loaded with nerf darts, is still a real crossbow, right?
The draw weight is pretty low and the velocity is comparable to commercial nerf blasters

@@DanSantanaBowshow do you alter the bow to increase the draw weight? How would I do that on this bow?
@@cicidiaries Use thicker pipe or up to a point a shorter bow
@@DanSantanaBows ah perfect! Thanks!
Could this be adapted to fire LARP-safe bolts?
What is the name of the rasp tool you used to shape the limbs at 2:52?
Shinto saw rasp. These things really haul wood and are almost impossible to clog up
@@DanSantanaBows Yeah, looks like it was doing good work
was very good👍👍👍👍👍
