Late 50s to early 60s program. Khansaheeeb is accompanied by his son, Munawwar. Nice Sarangi and Tabla accompaniment by Sri Ghulam Sabir and Sri Afaq Hussain respectively
apparently a 1959 AIR program.... I think the AIR channel had put this up some time back....beautiful piece.... the Ustad at his melodious and creative best.....
Beautiful! I think there is a desh thumri rendition by Ustad Latafat Hussain Khan (Agra Gharana) with a similar bol. That one though starts with 'aaye anokhe khilari..' etc.
Ustad Latafat Khansaheb's masterful rendition has the antara mentioning "Krishna Ranga" as the Vaishnavite master composer of this sprightly bandish... Of course Sabrang Piya aka Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khansaheb's dazzling piece is on an astral level of its own!!! Pranaams to these matchless masters
This looks more like Sorath than Des to me. The only difference between the 2 raags is the treatment of Gandhar. In Sorath Gandhar is hinted in the Meend from Ma -> Re, but never explicitly intoned. In Des it is explicitly intoned, not just as in Ma -> Ga -> Re, but also as Re, Ga, ni' Sa. Other than this treatment, the two raags are exactly identical.

I had not heard this rendition before. wonderful!
This is indeed set in Desh. The lilt and micro tonal nuances are timeless

Is it me or everyone ustad munir is more husky and very deep in his rendition than his father ???😊😊😊
1963 AIR Programme. National Programme maybe. Brilliiant.
Most certainly pre-stroke.

Have heard the same bandish from ustad Latafat Hussain Khan of agra gharana.
Nice
This is good, but I prefer Khansahib’s Des ghazal performance.
