The color scheme of Tarja's yellow/gold costume against the blue/purple background mimics that of the 1991 Disney animated feature, "Beauty and the Beast" ... you'll notice that Tarja leaves the stage at the end of this song for a costume change. The next song in this set is another duet between Tarja & Marko called "The Siren", a song that flips the theatrical roles of Marko and Tarja. Here in The Phantom of the Opera Tarja plays the role of sweet innocent Christine and Marko plays the role of the menacing Phantom. In the Siren Tarja plays the role of the sinister Siren and Marko plays the role of a Sailor drawn in by the Siren's allure. Fittingly Tarja's wardrobe choice for The Siren is black. Tarja and Marko's performance of The Siren on the End of an Era DVD is probably my favorite Nightwish song. The song is a perfect showcase of all the band members, Tuomas has a keyboard solo, Jukka is magnificent on the drums, Emppu on guirtar, And of course Marko and Tarja as the protagonist and antogonist in the story. Allround great performance with an element of the unexpected.
Well "this lead singer" is a founder member of Nightwish, probably the reason why they became as big as they did (and she knew it), and one who was then unceremoniously kicked out on her butt immediately after this concert (yes, this one) when any self respecting group of adults could and should have found a better way of handling the events that led to that appalling piece of foot shooting, something that has haunted them ever since. Just reckon up how many songs Jack Sparrow here has written about her since. To be honest MMM, I wouldn't even go there because many Nightwish followers remain to this day savagely divided on the issue. And hey, guess what, they did it again in 2012 with the next singer, who was in a hospital bed. Could they do it with a third? Hopefully not but I suspect there are tensions at the moment and Floor Jansen has solo ambitions of her own. The next year will be an interesting one.
Yeah, they don't have the best history...I suspect that also played into Jukka & Marko retiring from the band (though I'm sure most of it for Marko was Pecu passing on... RIP). In general, ever since DPP, the writing has gone downhill with their best songs coming from Marko. For me, Wishmaster, Century Child, and Once will always be the peak years.
I love how they sort of accidentally created an almost new genre with Symphonic Metal just because Tuomas didn't know his former friend from school had started her classical training when he asked her if she wanted to sing in his band :D It was supposed to be acoustic campfire music and then they heard Tarja's voice being so dramatic and strong and were like "yeah we need to go bigger, let's switch to metal instead" I love her voice, it has such a special colour and she's so talented ❣🌷 Hope to see more with her!! :)
Tarja Turunen was the first singer of Nightwish from the band's founding in 1996 to 2005. She and band leader/keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen were childhood friends who had played together in high school music projects in the small town of Kitee, Finland. Nightwish was originally slated to be more of a synth plus acoustic type of mood music project, but when the band heard the power of Tarja's (classically trained) voice, they decided to change into metal instead. Here are some Tarja-related reaction suggestions. My favorite song by Nightwish is 'Swanheart', of which there is a great live version on UA-cam: ua-cam.com/video/JYVl6MOZXIs/v-deo.html An even better version, in my opinion, is Tarja's orchestral rendition of Swanheart from 2013. Her vocals are simply amazing here: ua-cam.com/video/TvFVdET3ng4/v-deo.html&pp=ygUJc3dhbmhlYXJ0 Tarja can also sing classical at the highest level. Here she is singing Puccini's classic aria 'O mio babbino caro': ua-cam.com/video/4NL6xSHWQv0/v-deo.html
if you really want hard dark spell-binding Tarja (and Marko too) with Nightwish: (even some rocking on invisible guitar, head windmills, and etc theatrics too) (remember, the concerts/albums/covers/etc must be before 2006, for Tarja's performances) (not ranked, just listed) 1. Slaying the Dreamer 2. Planet Hell 3. Wishmaster 4. Kinslayer 5. Ghost Love Score 6. The Siren 7. End of All Hope 8. Dead to the World 9. 10th Man Down -------------------- Nightwish's 3 singers: 1. Tarja (original singer): 1995 to 2005 2. Annette: 2006 to 2012 3. Floor (current singer): 2013 to 2020+ everyone knows Floor, she's super popular with everyone, especially right now, and is a really good singer, having a huge variety of singing capability (pop, classical/opera, belting, growling/raspy), able to sing nightwish's old songs that were for Tarja's classical/opera singing, as well as new songs for her own variety/range of singing abilities Unfortunately for Annette, she's a pop/rock singer, and a very good singer too, but her pop/rock singing just didn't go that well with nightwish's music, which was made for Tarja's dark classical/opera singing. So, usually, she gets left out. so, it comes down to "Targasm” (Tarja) vs “Floorgasm” (Floor) in terms of the Nightwish singers in who you like most, if you like classical/opera singing better, Tarja is better at it, but that's all she does back when with nightwish, as nightwish was created for tarja's unique dark operatic singing/voice, (now with her own band, or solo, she does a greater range of singing), but she does it really well, she's really got a beautiful voice, if you like more pop singing, belting and growling/raspy, with or without classical/opera singing, than you like Floor better I knew nightwish from the early 2000s, so Nightwish will always be with Tarja, but Nightwish with Floor is really good too, but it's Tarja, who's my favorite singer with nightwish (many others will help you out with Floor's songs, so I'll just stick to Tarja's songs here) ---------- if you do like Tarja with nightwish, here's some good ones: (just make sure the song performances are before 2006, else it's not tarja who is singing) (NOT ranked, just listed) 1. End of an Era (her last concert with nightwish, hard to find good quality and the entire concert, as it gets taken down) 2. Phantom of the Opera (her duet with Marco, really good, both of them together, this song was actually used in the Phantom of the Opera remake movie in 2004) 3. Wishmaster 4. Planet Hell (marco sings in this song as well) 5. End of All Hope 6. Dead Boy's Poem 7. Nemo (watch the official music video and also her live performance of it) 8. Kinslayer 9. she is my sin 10. wish I had an angel 11. slaying the dreamer 12. the siren 13. dead to the world 14. 10th man down 15. walking in the air 16. ghost love score 17. dark chest of wonders 18. bless the child and many more too ------ this is about the 'phantom of the opera' with tarja nightwish, but it applies to tarja for all other NW songs too: Tarja has her own stage performance/presence, but the focus is on the entire band (much more respectful), unlike with floor, where the focus is almost entirely on her, and also, Phantom of the Opera isn't about that much showmanship, so you're not seeing more of Tarja's performance/presence (love how the camera work and Tarja worked together, with her ducking down, seeing Marcus as he delivered his singing, and then Tarja stands back up, seeing her face back in the camera as Marco's part ends and hers begins again, Tarja is really such a team player, as she could have had all the focus upon herself, like Floor gets, but instead she chooses to give the entire band the respect and focus that they too deserve, it's not all about Tarja, like it is with Floor, despite how good Tarja is and thus how she could be the entire focus with nightwish, as is Floor with nightwish) there's other songs, where Tarja was way way way more stage performance/presence/showmanship, including hair windmills, rocking an invisible guitar along with empuu rocking his guitar, along with her doing her squatting too as she sings and taps her foot/leg to it, as she's swinging those hips too, along with her getting the crowd involved as well too, and etc stuff, you got to watch way more songs, to really see her amazing stage presence/performance and showmanship, as Phantom of the Opera is likely the one song with the least of that stuff, due to the nature of the song itself, being about their singing (contrasting and then cacophonous harmonous duet, nothing can compete with Tarja and Marco voices duet'ing), though Marco and Tarja had a bit of showmanship and fun snuck into it, with Marco pointing to his face and Tarja's facial expression reactions, while both song their parts
This performance was the 2005 concert in Helsinki (End of an Era DVD). The last Nightwish show with original lead singer Tarja (Tar-ya) Turunen. Tarja's outfits and mic and mic stand are color coordinated throughout the show, 4 outfits, 4 colors. She is the 1st of 3 female lead singers. Tarja (96-05), Swede Anette Olzon (07-12), and Floor (12-present). Yes, that was Capt. Jack Sparrow. I believe it was from a fan, and the crew is responsible for putting it on the keyboard stand. Tarja and Marko both kill it. This would be the last time Nightwish performed Phantom for until this past November in The Netherlands, 17 years .They thought they would never do it again, until Floor made a promise to Henk Poort, whom she sang it with at the 2019 Beste Zangers Dutch TV show. For a Nightwish original with Tarja, try The Siren, Nemo, Sleeping Sun, or Planet Hell , all from this same show. Also at this show, while Tarja was changing, Marko sang lead on the cover/tribute of Pink Floyd's High Hopes.
Tarja is epic, also incomparable. Nightwish is one of the few bands that had 2 world class singers in their history.... Please check from the same concert in Finland "Nemo" and "Wishmaster" with Tarja, both are amazing as well.....I get chills to even think about those songs....
Tarja has been (ultimately) replaced by Floor. Jukka Nevalainen (the drummer) by Kai Hato since 2014 and Marco, who left the band just recently in 2021, by Jukka Koskinen
With one exception, this is Nightwish's original lineup - Tarja Turunen on vocals, Jukka Nevalainen on drums, Emppu Vuorinen on guitar, Tuomas Holopainen on keyboards, and Marko Hietala on bass and vocals. The original bass guitarist, Sami Vänskä, was booted from the group in 2001. Needing a bass player, Nightwish had toured with a band called Tarot and asked their bass player and vocalist, Marko Hietala, to join the band. This lineup put out two albums, "Century Child" (which is when I first heard about Nightwish) and "Once," and then this concert happened, Tarja was fired afterward, and the band went on a kind of hiatus. When Nightwish came back in late 2007, they had a new singer, Anette Olzen, who brought more of a rock sound instead of Tarja's classical (not operatic) vocals. Anette was polarizing to say the least, but I liked her. The two albums Nightwish released with her, "Dark Passion Play" and "Imaginaerum," are two of my favorites in their catalog. Anette was booted from the band in 2012, a week after I saw them in concert. Floor Jansen, formerly of After Forever and then of ReVamp, was then asked to complete the tour singing for the band. In late 2013, not long after Wacken 2013, Floor and Troy were both announced as official members of the band. Jukka would leave the band a little while later, though he remains with the group on the business side of things. Kai Hahto of Wintersun has played drums for the band since either 2014 or 2015 but wasn't announced as an official member until 2019. Marko left in 2020 and was replaced by Wintersun bass guitarist Jukka Koskinen as a session player, though he became a permanent member in August of 2022.
This show is from 2005 and is Tarja's final show with Nightwish. Hence the name of the DVD "End of an Era". In 2003 Tarja announced she would leave Nightwish approx 2006 (2 more tours), but after one tour, the band decided to fire her hours after this very show with a nasty public letter. Then Annete sang from 2006-2012. Floor sings from 2012 until present day. Jukka (drummer) left NW in 2007 because touring prevented him from getting over severe insomnia. He asked his friend Kai to take his seat. On bass NW started off with Sami who was replaced by Marko in 2001. Marko left in 2021 to fix his metal health issues and was replaced by Jukka (not the drummer, but one that plays bass 🙃)
I’m usually not one for live performances, because I love how artists work to perfect every detail of their songs in the studio. But this live rendition is just so incredible that it’s undeniable. I have to admit I’ve never heard the original, but must believe they did it justice with their awesome symphonic power-metal live performance.
Andrew Lloyd Webber (writer of the phantom of the opera) said that this was the best performance of the phantom of the opera on his opinion 😊...about the microphone, she always matched the color of the mic with her outfit, I find it so cute to be honest! And her english accent too... awesome....miss those days...
Tarja Turunen. The original singer and co founder with Tuomas and Emppu in NW in 96. Marco replaced rge orog bassist in 2000. Jukka is the orig drummer. Tuomas and Tarja went to school together. She left in 95.
The lead singer Tarja Turunen (Finnish) was one of the founding members of Nightwish. They had a falling out and sacked her at the end of this concert (2005). Eventually, after another singer for several years, they got Floor Jansen (Dutch) in 2012. Tarja is more operatic than Floor, who has a wider range of styles. Meanwhile, the drummer, Jukka, had bad insomnia etc and had to pull out of drumming on stage. Marco also was not the original bassist, so the lineup has changed. Only the keyboardist (Tuomas) and guitarist (Emppu) have persisted throughout the group's life. I believe Tarja had the flu when she sang this, bit still did a great performance.
This is Tarja Turunen, first NW singer. She was with them from the beginning. Tarja always color coordinated everything. You can't see it, but under her frock is a dress with a yellow bottom. Sometimes mid concert she would change to different color clothes and sing with a different color mic. Tarja was fired in 2005. She says some things, the band says some things. However, while she was handed papers firing her after the last concert, the band posted the letter firing he publicly the next day and it was designed as a bit of a pre-emptive strike against her. However, it came out a little hateful. Fans split on the firing. A person in the Finnish government criticized the band and Tuomas personally. Friends of Tuomas turned on him. Tarja did a public interview with tears dripping. It was bad for both. Tuomas contemplated suicide but later wrote the song "The Poet and the Pendulum". During his angry recovery he made a song bashing Tarja's husband, whom he blamed for Tarja's attitude - "Master, Passion, Greed" - perhaps the angriest NW song ever, but was never performs live. When the second female was hired, she sang another song (aimed at Tarja) called "Bye, Bye, Beautiful". Contrary to what some say, there wasn't a romantic affair with Tuomas/Tarja. They were close simply because they grew up in the same VERY tiny town and went to to the same school (and even performed music together). Nightwish was not originally a metal band. It was a folk music band. It changed only after the band hired Tarja - her voice wasn't ideal for folk music (it was much stronger), and fit Finland's other mainstream genre better - metal (oddly). Tarja was known in her town (village) as the "girl who could sing". The drummer here (clear up to 2013) was the original drummer, but he had to drop to administrative duties due to a medical reason. His friend Kai took over. Floor was asked to finish Anette Olzon's tour when she was fired in 2012. Floor finished the tour and was later asked (with Troy) to join as regular members of the band (and exist to present).
The original singer and cofonder of NW, Tarja Turunen (TAR-YA), 1996-2005. The original drummer, Jukka Nevalainen, 1996-2015. Tarja used lot of different colours on the microphones, to match her dresses. And, btw, did love ur reaction, as always ❤❤
You should know that she is the one and only original singer plus (1/3) founding member of NW with whom the band emerged and grew up from zero to global leader of this genre up to this very concert. They made 5 albums with her - more than the later substitutes and replacements together. Marco was also in the line up which made the band great. Check the whole concert - you agree. Naturally they continued great and Troy joined etc...much later but all the essential parts were defined already - including concept. By the way...the funny decoration doll is not relevant. Marco does solo and also other performances...he is awesome singer and bass + guitar player too. Jukka is the original drummer as well...this line-up is the one - the fundament. The mic color + dress have been synchronized in this concert...check more...plenty of dress changes between songs.
Tarja is fantastic, she sings opera, metal and super high notes seemingly without effort. She made a duet in this song with Fabio Lione who is an extremely good and versatile metal singer with a lot of operatic vocals. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it in such quality but still it's decent and worth a listen.
I loved your reaction, your emotions reflected in your facial expressions and your words, as always, direct and precise. The achievement of musically fusing opera, rock and metal in a perfect instrumental and vocal harmonization is admirable. Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge. From Argentina, greetings, congratulations and success. 🌹 🍀

"I'm curious to know why ..." "Why not?" She changes costume several times during the concert ... mostly two "robes" that can be easily removed/changed and the microphones are also changed.
Excellent! I'm glad you got to see Tarja's performance. She's the original vocalist; this concert (in 2006) was only a little more than a year after I discovered them, but they weren't touring the USA at the time. The second vocalist, Anette Olzon sang on two albums, then Floor took over. Jukka is the original drummer and Emppu is the only guitarist they've had. Marko is the 2nd bassist, Sami was the first, but Marko joined so long ago (2001) that most fans think of him as a core member too. Two of their three best albums were made with Marko (Century Child, Once); the only great not featuring him is Wishmaster. If you like his vocals, check out his band Tarot he started with his brother on guitar. Ashes To The Stars, You, Tides, Bleeding Dust, I Walk Forever, and the re-release of Wings Of Darkness are well worth checking out.
You're right - this isn't Floor, it's Tarja, the original singer of Nightwish (1996-2005). This was her last concert with the band, because she was fired backstage (see open letter). In November 2022, after 17 years, Nightwish once again played Phantom of the Opera with Floor and Henk Poort. This video is not to be missed!
@@fordcorsair Tastes are different and I'm certainly not going to argue about that. Tarja is good and was the best possible in the early days. Today Floor is at the start and she is now the best possible. And you have to accept that too.
@@Kelsea-2002 I love Floor and everything she does, but Phantom with her and Henk doesn't come anywhere near Marko & Tarja (and I'm not saying Floor is the weakest link 😉)
@@fordcorsair Have you ever noticed that Floor performs each song differently than the original (as Tarja)? I think that's exactly right and I don't think her version is worse in any way- It's just different.I was in Amsterdam and I felt and saw with everyone else how Floor's version had grabbed us all. Btw;I watch both versions with pleasure about the same number of times.
She had three different costume changes. color went with what she was wearing PS Touamas had an Edward Scissor hands too on a different tour look when watching other live ones they were fan made
Tarja Turunen is now mainly a soloist. She released a best of album last year and she has quoted to be working on at least 2 this year. She has duetted with other symphonic metal bands like Within Temptation, bluegrass band Steve 'n' Seagulls and even with Floor Jansen herself. If you want to see another theatrical symphonic band from Finland do a similar song to this, check out Dark Sarah - Dance with the Dragon.
The drummer by the way is the same drummer if you have reacted to the Wacken 2013 concert. His name is Jukka and he unofficially left the band in 2014 because of health issues concerning insomnia. He officially left in 2021, same time as Marko, but still works behind the scenes as an production manager or something like that. He was replaced by Kai, the drummer you will see post 2014, who was a mentor to Jukka and I think tutored Jukka at one time. I think Jukka was a more active drummer, he used to put in more stick twirls and flourishes but Kai is still a brilliant drummer in his own right.
Tarja is a typical female, like you want a handbag to match your dress, she loves a mic to match her CLOTHES :P haha and she is amazing, not many people will agree with me on this but she has become so much better since she became a solo artist, so to speak and, if you look at her other stuff, you will see, she is such a goof ball, so much fun to watch :) so yeah, check her stuff out too, she is awesome :)
As usual people in the comments are completely ignoring Anette, the singer Nightwish chose to replace Tarja. Don't get fooled by the selfentitled "nigthtwish army", it's really just "floor army". Nightwish is Tuomas.
Many people think Tuomas looks a little like Captain Sparrow. Tuomas loves the movies and the soundtracks from them. This is Tarja the first vocalist. She uses color coordinated dresses and microphones and stands. Red, Yellow, white, and black.
I have a recollection that he was on the cover of a Finnish music magazine called Suosikki, dressed as Jack Sparrow. Just can't find the picture anywhere.
Tarja's microphone is yellow, because her dress-coat is yellow...of course.. If she wears red the microphone will be red...of course... Black, white...also an option!
Great reaction to the original version with the first original for 10 years singer of Nightwish Tarja Turunen the greatest voice of symphonic metal.Greetings from Greece❤
I thought I had read that Luca was suffering from a terrible migraine at this show too. Maybe I'm misremembering. When he puts his hands over his head at the beginning looks like he's in pain.
If you want a much better version of this song, sung by Floor Jansen and Henk Poort, check it out on the Beste Zangers TV show in 2019. It'll blow your mind!
Does anyone know why the lines "I am the mask you wear" and "it's me they hear" are flip flopped, Tarja singing the first line and Marko the second, when it should be the other way around?
Because it's how it was in the original, and it makes perfect sense in the context of the story - Christine being the puppet and the "mask" of the Phantom. It's Floor and Henk who flipped the lines for no apparent reason.
🤩👌 💥 💯 🎼 🤘😎 🇫🇮 💙 .... Those costume changes of a Diva - hearted(by southern American 'macho man" 😹 The change on appearance should do like it's nothing... Unnoticabbly, eh? 🤘😎🇫🇮💙
MARKO makes this Duet. His Insane, Metal Rock "Phantom" is the best I've ever heard--for this particular song. My Favorite "Christine's" are Sarah Brightman, Sarah Bogges and FLOOR.
Please keep in mind for further reactions, the j in Tarja is pronounced the same way as the J in Jansen. (You wouldn't be the first who pronounces it the wrong way and it drives me mad.)
the newer nightwish is barely nightwish. this is classic nightwish. as I understand it, Tarja was too independent so they "open letter" kicked her out. operatic metal became...pop metal basically.
All hale the REAL TRUE QUEEN 👑 of NIGHTWISH and of ALL FEMALE SYMPHONIC METAL SINGERS!!! , the very beautiful looking and very unique voice of the enchanting TARJA!!! 😀👍👍🤘
the band has had 3 vocalists with different vocal skills, my favorite is "FLOOR" is more dynamic with her voice, "tarja" is very talented (first vocalist), but my favorite album of the band was released by (second vocalist) Anette Olzon, in fact it is one of the best-selling albums, but the fans of that time and the press criticized them a lot, it was a very abrupt and dark change for the band when they changed "TARJA" (voice is more operatic) for Anette la which her style was very different, but despite that she made my favorite albums of the band are by Anette, which "FLOOR" performed several masterfully at the 2013 concert
Hi Becky, greetings from UK 😊 This is Nightwish's first singer Tarja (pronounced Tar-Y-ah). The band fired her after this concert with an open letter which can be found with an internet search, as well as her letter responding to being fired. You will need to know this before reacting to one of Nightwish's best songs "The Poet And The Pendulum" further down the line Full details of Nightwish's history were in Gabriel Bardac's post on your first Nightwish reaction "Ghost love Score"
Hello, Nightwish Army Italian Division reporting for duty. You have just met the great Tarja Turunen the first and epic lead singer of the group. At the end of this tour, which this song is from, she was fired by the other band members after about 10 years of working together. After Tarja the second lead singer was the Swedish Anette Olzon in turn replaced by Floor Jansen. I suggest you to react to the recent, few months ago, version of this song sung by Floor in Amsterdam. Unmissable, believe me. 🤟🤟🤟
That was Tarja Turunen the first Nightwish vocalist, she was into colour co ordination so the Mic Stand had to be the same colour as her outfit. She was fired from the Band in 2005 for many reasons, her and Marco hated each other apparently.
They didn't hate each other! But they definitely hated Tarja's husband, and how he "changed" Tarja. But Marko and Tarja usually got along quite well and he's the only band member she met with in person afterwards
React Joelma tour "isso é calypso" 2022 at Amazônia, bloco 1 and bloco 2. her face is very swollen, because she has sequels of the covid19 that she got 4 times. From Brazil
Мне нравятся твои реакции. Очень хорошо заходят. Please continue. I like what you do on You Tube. I am from Russia, so please don't mind my bad English.
Tarja the original Nightwish queen, they formed the band as 19/20 year olds 😊 tuomas emppu tarja and jukka were all schoolmates
The only version of this I'll ever need. So amazing!
I concur
The others are covers of this
Nightwish died after this.

The Nightwish you know would never have been without this amazing singer!! Tarja was the first singer and co-founder of the band.
This is Tarja, the one that the emotions of Poet and the Pendulum were all about! She sang with the band from the 1990s to 2005.
I love how they sort of accidentally created an almost new genre with Symphonic Metal just because Tuomas didn't know his former friend from school had started her classical training when he asked her if she wanted to sing in his band :D

The wonderful Tarja ❤ As some others have said, this entire concert was fantastic. Nice reaction, and glad you saw Tarja :D
My favorite song by Nightwish is 'Swanheart', of which there is a great live version on UA-cam:

An even better version, in my opinion, is Tarja's orchestral rendition of Swanheart from 2013. Her vocals are simply amazing here:

Tarja can also sing classical at the highest level. Here she is singing Puccini's classic aria 'O mio babbino caro':

Nightwish's 3 singers:
1. Tarja (original singer): 1995 to 2005
2. Annette: 2006 to 2012
3. Floor (current singer): 2013 to 2020+
everyone knows Floor, she's super popular with everyone, especially right now, and is a really good singer, having a huge variety of singing capability (pop, classical/opera, belting, growling/raspy), able to sing nightwish's old songs that were for Tarja's classical/opera singing, as well as new songs for her own variety/range of singing abilities
Unfortunately for Annette, she's a pop/rock singer, and a very good singer too, but her pop/rock singing just didn't go that well with nightwish's music, which was made for Tarja's dark classical/opera singing. So, usually, she gets left out.
so, it comes down to "Targasm” (Tarja) vs “Floorgasm” (Floor) in terms of the Nightwish singers in who you like most, if you like classical/opera singing better, Tarja is better at it, but that's all she does back when with nightwish, as nightwish was created for tarja's unique dark operatic singing/voice, (now with her own band, or solo, she does a greater range of singing), but she does it really well, she's really got a beautiful voice, if you like more pop singing, belting and growling/raspy, with or without classical/opera singing, than you like Floor better
I knew nightwish from the early 2000s, so Nightwish will always be with Tarja, but Nightwish with Floor is really good too, but it's Tarja, who's my favorite singer with nightwish
(many others will help you out with Floor's songs, so I'll just stick to Tarja's songs here)
----------
if you do like Tarja with nightwish, here's some good ones:
(just make sure the song performances are before 2006, else it's not tarja who is singing)
(NOT ranked, just listed)
1. End of an Era (her last concert with nightwish, hard to find good quality and the entire concert, as it gets taken down)
2. Phantom of the Opera (her duet with Marco, really good, both of them together, this song was actually used in the Phantom of the Opera remake movie in 2004)
3. Wishmaster
4. Planet Hell (marco sings in this song as well)
5. End of All Hope
6. Dead Boy's Poem
7. Nemo (watch the official music video and also her live performance of it)
8. Kinslayer

10. wish I had an angel

12. the siren
13. dead to the world
14. 10th man down
15. walking in the air
16. ghost love score
17. dark chest of wonders
18. bless the child
and many more too

this is about the 'phantom of the opera' with tarja nightwish, but it applies to tarja for all other NW songs too:
Tarja has her own stage performance/presence, but the focus is on the entire band (much more respectful), unlike with floor, where the focus is almost entirely on her, and also, Phantom of the Opera isn't about that much showmanship, so you're not seeing more of Tarja's performance/presence (love how the camera work and Tarja worked together, with her ducking down, seeing Marcus as he delivered his singing, and then Tarja stands back up, seeing her face back in the camera as Marco's part ends and hers begins again, Tarja is really such a team player, as she could have had all the focus upon herself, like Floor gets, but instead she chooses to give the entire band the respect and focus that they too deserve, it's not all about Tarja, like it is with Floor, despite how good Tarja is and thus how she could be the entire focus with nightwish, as is Floor with nightwish)
there's other songs, where Tarja was way way way more stage performance/presence/showmanship, including hair windmills, rocking an invisible guitar along with empuu rocking his guitar, along with her doing her squatting too as she sings and taps her foot/leg to it, as she's swinging those hips too, along with her getting the crowd involved as well too, and etc stuff, you got to watch way more songs, to really see her amazing stage presence/performance and showmanship, as Phantom of the Opera is likely the one song with the least of that stuff, due to the nature of the song itself, being about their singing (contrasting and then cacophonous harmonous duet, nothing can compete with Tarja and Marco voices duet'ing), though Marco and Tarja had a bit of showmanship and fun snuck into it, with Marco pointing to his face and Tarja's facial expression reactions, while both song their parts
Jukka Nevalainen (the drummer) by Kai Hato since 2014
and Marco, who left the band just recently in 2021, by Jukka Koskinen
The best performance !!! 🎉❤❤ Marko y tarja ❤
Tarja Turunen ❤️❤️❤️
Best. Version. Ever.

She changes costume several times during the concert ... mostly two "robes" that can be easily removed/changed and the microphones are also changed.
I love tarja's voice ❤
The Captain Jack Sparrow figure was given to Tuomas cause people kept saying he looked like Jack Sparrow.
My favorite Phantom of the Opera is a bit different - Iron Maiden Phantom of the Opera Live at the Rainbow 1980
Sorry, but Floor and Henk comes nowhere near this...
Not sure if "see open letter" will mean much to someone who didn't know who Tarja was before watching this video.
This is Lady Tarja..She is The First One of an Angels of Nightwish..:)
..second one is Also an Angel..Miss Anetta..
..and then comes..She..I eaven dont want to dicose..1 of the greates lotterys what Mr.Tuomas had in His Life..Im just want to say...Thank You..
There is no nightwish without Tarja!
Tarja is a typical female, like you want a handbag to match your dress, she loves a mic to match her CLOTHES :P haha
and she is amazing, not many people will agree with me on this but she has become so much better since she became a solo artist, so to speak and, if you look at her other stuff, you will see, she is such a goof ball, so much fun to watch :) so yeah, check her stuff out too, she is awesome :)
As usual people in the comments are completely ignoring Anette, the singer Nightwish chose to replace Tarja. Don't get fooled by the selfentitled "nigthtwish army", it's really just "floor army". Nightwish is Tuomas.
Tarja turunen primeira vocalista original da banda, muito boa cantora. ❤
Tarja 'the original singer' Her last show.....🇸🇪
Many people think Tuomas looks a little like Captain Sparrow.
I remember reading that both she and Marco were sick with the flu at the time of this concert.
I thought I had read that Luca was suffering from a terrible migraine at this show too. Maybe I'm misremembering. When he puts his hands over his head at the beginning looks like he's in pain.
@@xhighone it could be? Though I have seen other videos of Juuka making that gesture
If you want more Marko, look up High Hopes. A tribute to Pink Floyd.
That is tarja, she was their original lead singer.
If you want a much better version of this song, sung by Floor Jansen and Henk Poort, check it out on the Beste Zangers TV show in 2019. It'll blow your mind!
Well i actually love Tarja, know the basic band from the beginning but Floor has a power, it's another level anyway
Tarja es insuperable... Floor is amazing... But no better tarja... Tarja is the queen
Nightwish Army south Brittany France reporting.
Yes, that's Jack Sparrow
Please react to 'Poor Wayfaring Stranger - Epic Version' by Simon Khorolskiy Feat. Chris Rupp. You'll love it.
QUEEN TARJA!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Tarja has a more operatic voice than Floor but Floor also makes a very good job of it; look for a 2022 performance with Henk Poort!
Who's Floor?
👍👍👍👍 Great reaction 🤘🤘🤘
May I recommend the beautifulliest song of Nightwish to you? It is 'Sleeping sun' - incredible!!!!
The mic is always the same color as Tarja's dress.
🤩👌 💥 💯 🎼
🤘😎 🇫🇮 💙
.... Those costume changes of a Diva - hearted(by southern American 'macho man" 😹
The change on appearance should do like it's nothing... Unnoticabbly, eh?
🤘😎🇫🇮💙
Tarja is the best singer that Nightwish has ever had.
MARKO makes this Duet. His Insane, Metal Rock "Phantom" is the best I've ever heard--for this particular song. My Favorite "Christine's" are Sarah Brightman, Sarah Bogges and FLOOR.
Tarja is symphonic metal, flor is metal
Tarja Turunen the best!! Saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷
Please keep in mind for further reactions, the j in Tarja is pronounced the same way as the J in Jansen. (You wouldn't be the first who pronounces it the wrong way and it drives me mad.)
Tarja - the original and best.. there would be no Nightwish without Tarja
the newer nightwish is barely nightwish. this is classic nightwish. as I understand it, Tarja was too independent so they "open letter" kicked her out.
operatic metal became...pop metal basically.
Tarja has an amazing voice ❤. It's a shame the band gave her a letter saying she was no longer in the band straight after this concert. 😢
She effectively handed in her notice a while before this concert anyway
I prefer Tarja, personally, & love how they do this song.
Plis she is the Queen Tarja.
Hi Becky, greetings from UK 😊
This is Nightwish's first singer Tarja (pronounced Tar-Y-ah). The band fired her after this concert with an open letter which can be found with an internet search, as well as her letter responding to being fired. You will need to know this before reacting to one of Nightwish's best songs "The Poet And The Pendulum" further down the line
Full details of Nightwish's history were in Gabriel Bardac's post on your first Nightwish reaction "Ghost love Score"
Now do Floor with Henk Poort. But I suggest not to offer comparrison as they're both awesome in their own right. I LOVE ❤️ them both.
Tarja4Evr 🙏❤️👊🌷🥂🍀
Hello, Nightwish Army Italian Division reporting for duty. You have just met the great Tarja Turunen the first and epic lead singer of the group. At the end of this tour, which this song is from, she was fired by the other band members after about 10 years of working together. After Tarja the second lead singer was the Swedish Anette Olzon in turn replaced by Floor Jansen.
I suggest you to react to the recent, few months ago, version of this song sung by Floor in Amsterdam. Unmissable, believe me. 🤟🤟🤟
Johnny Depp is the leader of Nightwish lmao
The drummer is jukka. No longer playing with nightwish due to a sleep disorder
The greatest drummer ever in my opinion. He is still with Nightwish though taking care of day to day business.
тария молодец,это старое видео,если она перехерачит флор,мои уважения
That was Tarja Turunen the first Nightwish vocalist, she was into colour co ordination so the Mic Stand had to be the same colour as her outfit. She was fired from the Band in 2005 for many reasons, her and Marco hated each other apparently.
Yes but now they are working on something together. Can´t wait for that one to come.
They didn't hate each other! But they definitely hated Tarja's husband, and how he "changed" Tarja. But Marko and Tarja usually got along quite well and he's the only band member she met with in person afterwards
@@kazfarah7623 Apart from her good friend Floor 😊
React Joelma tour "isso é calypso" 2022 at Amazônia, bloco 1 and bloco 2.
her face is very swollen, because she has sequels of the covid19 that she got 4 times.
From Brazil
one of Tarja's things is to match the mic and stand to her clothing. throughout this final conert of hers she amde 3 or4 mic changes.
THANKS for some TARJAWISH !!!!!!
TARJA Goddess then , even more so now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘
Мне нравятся твои реакции. Очень хорошо заходят.
Please continue. I like what you do on You Tube. I am from Russia, so please don't mind my bad English.
Great reaction Becky. This an awesome version of this song. The whole concert is freakin awesome.
This was her last night singing with them 😢
Tarja Turunen ❤️❤️❤️❤️
