Two absolute legends in the ring. Bronco Lubich had flown in from Dallas to officiate this important match but he got hold of some bad shellfish that day at lunch and was unable to answer the bell so to speak.
Nice shot of Michel Normandin at the announcer's table. He was to Montreal Wrestling what Gordon Solie was to Florida or Lance Russell was to Memphis. And I'd forgotten just how *fast* O'Connor was....wow...!
I confirm this is Montreal. The referee of this bout may be actually the same who was officiating the original Kowalski vs. Yukon Eric bout with the ear accident.
Underneath all the gimmickry the killer was one helluva of a wrestler. He could throw a drop kick with the best of them and his kick outs from Pat's head scissors are a joy to watch.I used to love watching him perform in Montreal (where this bout took place) in the 1950's and 60's.Here he's up against a very scientific wrestler but he more than holds his own.(in my view anyway)Pat was a phenomenal wrestler too but his ring personna couldn't set the crowd on fire. All in all a great match between 2 highly skilled wrestlers. This was real entertainment!!!Not like the garbage that Vince McMahon jr. peddles.Haven't watched the crap he puts on in years.Never will.
no one could soften up a man like these two gladiators: even match up and best man was the one who could take the punishment and still come back and deliver the same... pure testosterone in the ring here... both champions
Great match from two legends. In the 01:54 Killer Kowalski does a Kip-Up,was amazing. Soy de Argentina y amo la Lucha Libre Profesional/Love the Profesional Wrestling.
Pat eventually returned ready for action. The killer had already left and didn't come back.By not returning the Killer forfeited the third and deciding fall. Actually both men should have been counted out.Admittedly a lame ending to a highly entertaining bout between 2 evenly matched men.

Both of these men can out wrestle shamus , cena, punk and others of our generation
What a match!

O'Connor was one of the best workers ever. He alwaya had complete control when he was in the ring.
2 old school ringmasters going at it. Classic!!
2 of the all time greats...

Kowalski was another great legend
21st July 1954 at the Forum in Montréal. This is the MAC World Heavyweight Title.
Great match from two legends.

great post !
7:19 that's the biggest referee spill I've seen in wrestling. Notice you never see that guy afterwards either
What a great class bout between to Wrestling legends.
It never said why O'Connor won the fall. Because Kowalski knocked him over the top rope?

Kowalski reminded me of a sick character. Not the handsomest character on earth.
コワルスキーはテーズの弟子らしく、オコーナーに遜色ないレスリングをするなあ。
Happy Birthday Pat
7:19 ref fall
Yes. Montreal
Probably took place at the old forum around 1955.
Some great weakeners being worked relentlessly by Killer Kowalski
THE KILLER!
猪木が修行中にコワルスキーを怒らせたらしい🍺(笑)
怖くなり着替えもそこそこに
会場を後にしたらしい🍺(笑)
