I agree, I was not informed of the need for injections to prevent atrophy, I was basically told that I too would be “put out to pasture “ or get prosthetic surgery.
I also agree. My urologist didn't seem too interested in trying to restore my erectile function. Put me on low dose daily Cialis, which just caused stomach issues. My surgery was over 4 years ago, and my natural function is pretty much nil. This addressed radical prostatectomy. What about recovery from centralized cryoablation of cancer cells in one part of the prostate? What is the expected process of return to functionality?
I think what he said in the video was that the reason it's a problem is that there is a lack of bloodflow into the penis. No erection, no future function. Do you procedures you've mentioned stop the body from achieving erections?
My Urologist never mentioned any kind of procedure for rehabilitation after my Prostatectomy, It’s been 6 years and have recovered about 75%. I believe that women should help in taking a interest in their partners Rehabilitation but it never happened. I think some women as in my case are relieved.

I am about to undergo a robotic prostatectomy. This is because of my greatly enlarged prostate and high PSA ,with no cancer present, at about 14, and meds have been ineffective in lowering my nightime bathroom trips making me feel drugged and groggy or have too much endurance and sex drive. I happened to come acoss this Dr. Scholtz interview, and the first things mentioned by him are shots and more drugs. I'm just interested about sex function recovery because for over 50 years I've enjoyed masturbating even with permission from my older wife. What will it be like a few months after surgery; I understand there won't be ejaculation, but will there still be a firm-sensitive erection down there when aroused, and a climax with the involuntary pleasure-pulses present? Is the answer just "for some men" or will I need more prescriptions? Thanks for any replies from the experienced.

I've done the injections. If you get an automatic trigger pump, it's not bad at all. You load the filled needle into the pump, press to your penis, release a valve, and the pump does a quick injection for you and you barely feel it. Problems for me have been that the results are inconsistent, and I never get a full erection with the shots, maybe 3/4. But they are useful in certain circumstances.
I am post radical prostatectomy (Da Vinci) about 4 years. I still get erections with pills, but when I climax I loose control of my bladder and cannot stop the flow of urine. My question (and my girlfriend's question too) is if this occurs during intercourse is it harmful to the vagina, and what precautions should we take? Thank you
Great question. I’m 9 months out and have not had sex yet. I’ve had injections which gave me an erection. My girlfriend has been great waiting for me. I’m kinda scared at the prospect of resuming sex.
@@stephenhuvane707 Personally, and this is only my opinion, wear a condom and have sex as often as you want until you can regain control of the leakage from your bladder. I had my entire prostate removed 2 months ago but I can still have orgasms. Getting an erection is the issue I haven't solved yet. But the advice in the video of injections sounds promising.
@@bluenose007 no, but if she couldn't have sex it would be easier for me to deal with that than my issue if I couldn't have sex. I mean it's going to certainly change the dynamics of your marriage you can call sex what you want but I don't consider handholding and cuddling sex And for me all that would do is remind me of what I can't do anymore so I'd rather not do anything . And let's put it this way If you were not in the marriage or relationship and you were dating somebody and in that dating process they told you I'm not capable to have sex or they had a completen aversion to sex and hated it would you continue dating that person and pursue a relationship? Probably not It would have ended at the word can't or aversion. Call me shallow but I guarantee you 99.9% of people would have end that dating relationship.
Do what he said in the video. You did actually watch the video, didn't you? If you didn't then you are not doing much to even help _yourself!_ But to answer your question, get injections of Trimix, or whatever the doctor recommends, for your penis to get your erections back. See your doctor or surgeon to get started with a prescription.
Achieving an erection is great, but what can be done to create sensitivity and libido? Is this where nitrous oxide comes in? A hard on with little or no feeling is not going to be very pleasurable to a man
Amazing thanks, I just realized that Mario updated his favorite way to tackle ED and it's crazy! Although what he previously talked about was pretty decent, it was difficult to follow, I just go'ogled the latest in Volpstein’s Thunderous Erections, it's so much faster and lasting now!
That is not really our area of expertise and there could be different reasons, but it is common for women to lose their libido as they age and their bodies slow down production of hormones relevant to libido. It is analogous to men losing their libidos when they are on testosterone lowering medications for prostate cancer. We have a video here about bioidentical hormones in couples who are interested in evening out their libidos: ua-cam.com/video/viZEaPD6TAE/v-deo.html.
Often times it is so the video can also be edited to use where the 4x3 aspect ratio is more common. Not every country in the world uses the 16x9 HDTV ratio yet because they are too poor to afford it.
It is clearly _not_ castration. It is removal of the prostate, not the testicles! If you don't get the prostate removed when you have intermediate or worse stages of prostate cancer, the chances are extremely high that it will spread and you will die an agonizing and lengthy death. Why don't you educate yourself a tiny little bit on the subject before making such a _stupid_ comment? If you think this is all a joke, I wonder what you will think if you get prostate cancer??? 🙄🙄🙄
Its bad they don’t say much about this subject. And they don’t make effort to save the sexual function. I think this is irresponsible of surgeons and doctors. Make feel like you are part of experiment for selfish surgeons.

Just how much damage has been done in these 13 weeks? I now wish i had started the injections immediately after surgery.
I had 28 radiations and 40units of trimix only worked half way going to try the 50 units hope it works.
What about the use of a penile pump? Less invasive in a way than the injections?
Very informative!!
Wish I had known this, it’s been a year and half since my surgery and I’m just now trying the injections. Still looking for the proper dose
10 to 15 cc
I wish my urologist had given me this information when I had my surgery.
This addressed radical prostatectomy. What about recovery from centralized cryoablation of cancer cells in one part of the prostate? What is the expected process of return to functionality?
If prostate is removed, and nerve spared, then you are good
I think what he said in the video was that the reason it's a problem is that there is a lack of bloodflow into the penis.
Hey Joe. How are you doing today? Ypu think some women are relieved? As in glad that they don't have to have sex?
@@kennethhudson4769 that's exactly what he means and unfortunately he's right. I never knew so many women give up on sex and don't want it any more at what I feel is a young age. 50's.
@@nylaskye I have come to see that myself. It's very disheartening

Is it true that pinial injection can cause blood clots?
I under go TURP surgery before 02 months. Speam doesn't come out. Please advise me. Thank you.
Thats called retrograde ejaculation and its not the same feeling as before my radiation treatments and TURP that i had.
It takes a while to get used to it.
What if they have to take out all of the prostate I have nothing down there nothing works for me but penile implant which I think sucks however 85% of my prostate was fill with cancer
injection vs vacuum pump for penile rehab?
Yes....just get the blood in there. Then the nerves will follow later.
my urologist never mentioned this to me. I noticed my penis is now so small after surgery it needs enlarging back to normal size then I may notice if I can actually get an erection pelvic exercises are useful but tbf I wish I had never had have operation due to the inconternance 6:02
Its been 4 months since my prostrate removal at Mayo in Rochedter, Mn. Ive been taking a couple viagra everyday w/ not much luck w/ E D. Im not sure I can do the injections because I fear needles. Will a penis pump be a good option?
Well you better get over your fear of needles ot you won't have another election
Try the pump.
I use the trimix injections the needle is very fine its not bad at all.
Maybe you can get your partner to do the injection my wife does mine.
Watch the videos on utube
Is this significantly better than a pump to exercise those areas? Needles seem a little scary.
Get a unit needle its very fine you can barely feel it..if you can get your partner to give you the injection.
How about trimex???
That is one of the injection drugs for erections. So it can certainly be the answer. I believe it is properly spelled Trimix.
Did u try the trimix ?
I had 28 radiation treatments and 40 units of trimix only works halfway going to try 50 units soon and hope that works.
I hope it worked for you.
Some days I wish I never had the surgery… I’m alive but my life is a wreck. Total disregard as to the surgical impact in real life would be my comment.
The surgery with robot is new toy for doctors they don’t care about your life after the operation when are incontinent for life and handicapped you can never thrust going far from home because of the diapers.
Im 64 i had 28 radiations and hormone therapy very depressing but dont give up.
@@larsgothe6961its a rough road for sure i had 28 radiations and hormone shot
Trimix dont work rite now im going to try quadmix and see if that works its depressing but im not giveing up.
My urologist suggested Viagra first and then after 6 months, injections. This is to ensure proper urine flow first. Does this approach have any merit?
What about break theory.
once we get surgery can we have abay
I had prostate removal surgery plus radiation treatments after surgery because my numbers were still too high. It has been two years since, and I still do not have erections. Is there any chance this will improve over time? I am 65 years old.
What was the doctor reply
The injection seems to work for me best and the pump. I'm trying things out since my radical prostatectomy was in August 2022. I'm 53 years old.
What if you did didn’t do the rcemendence in the bringing what would happen?
WHAT????
had aquablation 3 months ago. now have retrograde ejaculation. any advice?
will i ever gain control of my bladder its been almost 3 years since my prostate sergery .6 mmonths since my bladder sling sergery and leaks when it want i wear a incontinence clamp and a pad if i remove the clamp my pad fills up in 1 hour !
Dude that’s rough! Have you done kegel exercises? There are UA-cam videos on how to do it.
Yeah man that is rough. Do the kegels like a madman . You have to focus on stopping the flow
Mam...my question is....the ejaculation became in slow way instead, at once after a successful prostate Turp surgery 3 months back. More time needed??
It takes a lot more time when u have retrograde ejaculation from the turp operation i no bcuz i have it. And its not the same feeling .
What about erection after hormone treatment. Possible or not?
It should be possible.
i work my 2 days a week comeing GOOD
What is involved in removing the Seminal Vesticles out of the Prostate? And how much would that cost?
What about the use of a penis pump in conjunction with injection therapy ? Is this an initial option then lead into using injections ?
What is life like after the surgery?
My surgery was 6 weeks ago today. Recovery was tough at first with the catheter in and what a relief when it came out. Bowel movements were pretty super painful at first but now so much better. Still have incontinence and that is tough to deal with when I never had a problem with that before surgery. No erections since surgery. We will see if that ever comes back. Hopefully.
It's ok to ride cycle after prostectimy

Since when did a doctot careabout the renewing of erectile function of a patient?
Obviously some doctors do and some don't.
I had mine removed 8years ago and still can’t get it up
Can a man that had that operation for years take the shots and will it help.
Hope your radical prostatectomy went well? I had mine done at the end of June.
I've had no erections whatsoeverever, but I've not seen a doctor yet about anything prostate related, results, erections, shrinkage or continence issues?
@@freddythefrog70 Why haven’t you seen a doc?
@@Vincent50As an update, my doctor/surgeon did an excellent job. I had lost a lot of blood so my energy is weak, so far 6 weeks after, I need to pee once or twice a night, but have a strong stream now...and sex is still nice for me without the squirts and only the pulses at orgasm. These are my results, not necessarily everyone's.
Is there evidence that injections profoundly help rehabilitation? If you could you link to it please.
You keep on playing with that thought, your sexual life is over.
good
6 months on....incontinence now ok...but impotence half way.
I take it; then; that starting injections one year after the operation is of no use. Aren't there any solutions after that?

I'm 64 years old. I got Rezum surgery five months ago. And After surgery I have some pain and erectile dysfunction. My Dr. gave me pain killer and Viagra but it did not work. What is the problem I don't know. I will go to another Urologist to next month.

@Stephen Huvane are the shots the only way you can get an erection? What's the fear in having sex?
@@stephenhuvane707 Personally, and this is only my opinion, wear a condom and have sex as often as you want until you can regain control of the leakage from your bladder. I had my entire prostate removed 2 months ago but I can still have orgasms. Getting an erection is the issue I haven't solved yet. But the advice in the video of injections sounds promising.
Wow

I mean it's going to certainly change the dynamics of your marriage you can call sex what you want but I don't consider handholding and cuddling sex
And for me all that would do is remind me of what I can't do anymore so I'd rather not do anything .
And let's put it this way If you were not in the marriage or relationship and you were dating somebody and in that dating process they told you I'm not capable to have sex or they had a completen aversion to sex and hated it would you continue dating that person and pursue a relationship? Probably not

Do what he said in the video. You did actually watch the video, didn't you? Achieving an erection is great, but what can be done to create sensitivity and libido? Is this where nitrous oxide comes in? A hard on with little or no feeling is not going to be very pleasurable to a man
Amazing thanks, I just realized that Mario updated his favorite way to tackle ED and it's crazy! Although what he previously talked about was pretty decent, it was difficult to follow, I just go'ogled the latest in Volpstein’s Thunderous Erections, it's so much faster and lasting now!
My wife has lost all desire for sex. I crave it more since she is not interested. Why ? Don’t I deserve attention?
That is not really our area of expertise and there could be different reasons, but it is common for women to lose their libido as they age and their bodies slow down production of hormones relevant to libido. It is analogous to men losing their libidos when they are on testosterone lowering medications for prostate cancer. We have a video here about bioidentical hormones in couples who are interested in evening out their libidos: ua-cam.com/video/viZEaPD6TAE/v-deo.html.
That can be complicated.
My wife said all she needs is me alive and hands if needed. I’m sorry
Its scar tissue...duh
Does the absence of the prostate affects a man's ability to climax ?
Nope
why is she sitting a foot from him? Never seen an interviewer sit so close to their subject.
Why not ?

Should she be on top of him? Sigh
Often times it is so the video can also be edited to use where the 4x3 aspect ratio is more common. Not every country in the world uses the 16x9 HDTV ratio yet because they are too poor to afford it.
After 2 years of prostate cancer surgery, can a man have sex with his wife?
Maybe better not get castrated in the first place?
There is that.
Exactly....seems so barbaric
There is no way to recover sexual dysfunction after prostate surgery
I had radical surgery done. My prostate was removed… what they didn't tell me was the mental aspect of it all. I wanted to have sex but couldn't. I felt disconnected. What made me identify as a man was gone. This was tough. I had to adopt a strong mental outlook and accept the fact that those days were gone. At some point with the help of God you'll land on your feet and realize that your spirit is much stronger than the flesh. I can do all things through Christ Jesus who STRENGTHEN me!
