Thanks for the overview notes. It's brilliant for me, because I can understand what happening upon the first listen. You provide context, artist intent- just enough. That stuff matters to me. And knowing what to expect meter-wise going into it is nice. I like this piece, Stefan. It's the first time I realized something- I played keys in the 80s and on, the challenge was always trying to make electronic filters, waves, envelopes, etc. sound like REAL INSTRUMENTS. I just internalized the concept of the reverse - treating instrumentation so as to make real instruments sound electronic. Nailed it. Maestro Pierson cuts a heroic, chiseled figure, huh?
That's to say.... if I wasn't there i'd still be gobsmacked. Make it more then a classical concert.... the idea is fantastic but mimicks the pops / symphony, but fringe. It could be misconstrued. It's a film and light show in our heads, why not a spectacle onstage? Movement, soloing, choreographed?
Love this performance.... but the old ideal of musicians playing what they must while looking at a sheet score....over dynamic cinematography. Create some connection between the musicians... they hear it...we hear it.
I can only pray for more from these great artists
This is a good orchestra and so is penguin cafe orchestra.
Best kisses from Europe for your fantastic work… The best acoustic versions of Aphex Twin ever, who’s the best musician ever.
Still enjoying your Aphex Twin cover songs project 'Acoustica'. Always a pleasure to hear your sound.
This is a great film of a great piece. Favorite shot by far: rhythmic damper motion inside the piano showing the time. So so good! =-)

Congratulations, Stefan! This is an amazing piece. You've come such a long way from our talent show gigs in high school!
Great performance, congrats. Is this score available for purchase? I'm failing to find Freund's website or editorial.
Glad you like it! Try reaching out to him via email. You should be able to find his address on the University of Missouri website.
