My Name is Suzanne. Born and raised in the Netherlands and I live a nomadic life as a social oceanpreneur. Did you know that more than 50% of the air we breathe comes from the ocean? We are dependent on the ocean for our survival, but the ocean is dying!
We’re producing and consuming in ways that cannot be absorbed by nature. Did you know that every piece of plastic ever made, is still out there somewhere? Plastic and glass fiber molded boats have taken over the scene; plastic is not only threatening the ocean but also the traditions that bring life to the ocean.
Determined to keep the traditional wooden boatbuilding skills in the Caribbean AND the ocean alive, a new Carriacou ship must be built. Traditional boatbuilding skills must be taught to new generations so they can (re)connect with their roots, the sea, and become more resilient to future stressors and events.
By combining traditional skills with innovative knowledge and technology, we connect to a global audience to share the ocean magic and accelerate ocean action.
The sloop will serve as a catalyst of the movement representing a regenerative and circular way of boatbuilding, sailing, and advocating a life of purpose and preservation of the environment and island tradition. We own it to our children!
I’m looking for people, parties, partners, sponsors, team members that like to join the movement.

Hey Filip! Thanks so much! Purpose + Fun helps me to keep going :) I just touched shore after sailing thousands of miles across the Caribbean and Atlantic. Time to process the footage and get more videos out. Stay tuned :)
