One thing that Ive noticed, both as a booking/promoter and as a DJ myself: Its no point in starting too early and have a DJ playing too long! The bar owners often will have you start early to make more business. Whats the point if there is just a few customers, and the result is a "tired" DJ at peak hours? The people being early often dont care about music or DJ either way.
I have a max 3-4 hours policy. Play 3 hours for 3000. 4 hours for 4000. 5 hours for 6000. 6 hours for 10000... Excellent advice on the "try-outs". Always ask for a feedback right after the gig.
BTW: Good music selection, and as you point out: Always play for the girls. Whatever the ratio. Would love to know the song/mix at 5:07. :)

Hey nice video I think you did pretty well considering the crowd and circumstance. I've got one question if you don't mind, I was wondering how you like to switch into a slow jam like bump n grind and then go back into the high BPM range.
I don't think he did, it was edited between tracks
whatsup! when I switch into slow jams one I either use a transition track that does the work for me or I match the beats by half. Say Im playing an uptempo track at 130, I just have to find a slow jam that is half of that so 65 bpm. they will match and visa versa when it comes to transitioning up.

get a cheap wide angle lens off of amazon and get some type of selfie stick or monopod to make your shots more stable

You did a good job man! Those hours are horrible though. They had you starting way too early. At the end of those kinds of gigs, your body is beat to hell and you just feel exhausted the next day. No way I would accept that. 10pm to close is how I roll on gigs like that. But you've been around the block. You know what's up. Love the video!
