Found your channel on a whim looking for some PC-98 tracks to chill to, found even more cool stuff like this Genesis one. I'm very glad I found your channel cause this is great!
Awesome job! Brings back lots of memories when I heard it for the first time back in 2018. I loving the sound design in this rendition, especially with the samples being run through the DualPCM. :)
Ngl, I did like the original version a lot more before, but honestly this version has really grown on me lol; really like the additional parts added to this, alongside the added percussion and the PCM string part, it was pretty cool to hear that in a Genesis thing haha Honestly, the only thing that I still don't like in comparison to the original is the bass solo part at 3:14, I feel that one was better there since it was a bit more straight-forward and didn't have so much unnecessary stuff added to it, although I've also grown a bit to that as well, so who knows, maybe my opinion will change for that as well lmao
I can totally see why you enjoyed the original more. Both versions are different in many aspects, including an entirely new 2nd part, which by the way has a line that I had sketched but ultimately didn't make it to the 2018 version. I changed it because I wanted it to reflect the newer sound design, and also because I just made it up as I was sequencing it (I had a full 1st part as I imagined it, but the 2nd part was always improvised). Although nobody mentions it, the first part is a direct continuation of Remnants of O.R.I.G.I.N., and I made sure to put that into the 2018 version intro, though that's totally omitted in the 2022 version. The way I envisioned the song was a three-part structure: the deep jungle (with some atmospheric arrange), the urban city (leaning towards jazz, hence the improvisation), and a tragic ending (although that was never part of any of these versions, it would be a heavy metal part). Have you ever asked yourself why there are sirens and a robot voice saying something before shooting someone in the 2018 version? P.S.: No, SuperJetSpade, that's not a seashore, it's a rainstorm in the 2018 version.
@@rigid_atoms it retriggers all ch3 operators and puts their envelope is release state, it also resets tgeir phase. How fast it happens is controlled by the note you set in CSM timer channel

Well done, especially the percussion rhythm!
This is amazing. I love the Chrono Cross-y classical guitar bits
You're spot on, I was heavily inspired by "Fields of Time" back then 😅

Nice Channel 3 Mode+Fractal Sega Genesis tune!😄🤩😎👌 So the CSM Timer acts like it’s own channel, what exactly does it do?🤨🤔🧐
I don't even know what it does, I haven't used it at all...
