- The Theresienweg trail runs through the Palatinate Forest near Rhodt unter Rietburg. This beautiful hiking trail was dedicated to the wife of King Ludwig I
The circular trail is just over 5 kilometres long and leads past the Rhodt Schützenhaus, the Villa Ludwigshöhe, the Schweizer Haus, the Mariengrotte, the Johannesbrunnen and the Rietaniahütte.
We started this after-work walk at the Rietania hut car park.
Most of the hiking trail runs through the forest, providing cooling shade on hot summer days.
If it is still too hot, you can refresh yourself at the Johannesbrunnen fountain.
The first section up to St Mary's Grotto leads along a narrow path through the forest. To the right and left of the path, you will see beautiful miniature castles or houses with small figures inside.
From the beautifully designed Mariengrotte, also known as the Weyrer Lourdesgrotte, a path leads up to the Schweizer Haus, from where you have a fantastic view of the Rhine plain.
From there, the trail leads mainly along wide forest paths towards the Rietburgbahn railway.
From the Rietburgbahn it is not far back to the Rietaniahütte.

Hallo Nivea & Nobert, auch auf dieser relativ gemütlichen Strecke, die ihr gewandert seit, gibt es doch einiges zu sehen und entdecken. Diese Schnitzereien und kleine Details am Wegesrand sind recht hüpsch gestaltet. Der zugewachsene schmale Pfad ist wirklich ein Traum, klasse was man auf so kurzer Strecke alles erleben kann. Hallo Nivea & Norbert. So als kleine Tour ist sie sehr schön und wenn man Kinder noch mit dabei hat, ist gerade der anfang sicherlich sehr spannend. Dieser Brunnen und die Grotte, hat mir auch gefallen. Die Hütte währe mir dann wieder zu groß und man hat wenn mal viel wnaderer unterwegs sind, nicht so die ruhe denke ich. Aufjedenfall wieder ein tolles Video. Besten Dank und einen schönen Abend und Wochenstart. LG markus

Hallo Nivea und Norbert,
eine wirklich schöne Feierabendrunde. Gerade der Beginn mit den vielen Kunstwerken am Wegesrand hatte etwas Märchenhaftes. Die vielen geschnitzten Tiere oder Miniaturbauten waren sehr liebevoll gestaltet. Der "Baumsalamander" war ein besonders schöner Hingucker. Die Lourdesgrotte und Johannesbrunnen haben auch eine schöne Atmosphäre vermittelt. Beim Dschungelabschnitt hattet ihr ja nochmal etwas brasilianische Vibes😃 Selbst wenn der Weg am Ende qualitativ abgefallen ist hat er uns mit den schönen Stationen und Aussichten gut gefallen 🙂
