I have to praise Archon Studio for continuing to keep up the quality of these figures. You have done a great job with the painting, they seem to jump out at you! I have nothing against Panthor and Battle Cat but, who would not pick Tyrantisaurus as a battle buddy.
Ah, a man of culture who appreciates villains of the scaly kind as much as I do :) Seriously, been so eager for the Snakemen since Battlegrounds came out and now they're finally coming! I really wish for an alt sculpt for King Hsss in his true form.
Wasn't sure anybody would pick up on that! Originally I called the Tyrantisaurus something different every time - Grimlock, Theodore, Denver, Barney, Rex, Sinclair, Reptar, Godzilla - in the end I dialled it back a bit, but Theodore had to stay. What a truly terrible yet endearing movie that was.

Great job on the video and the mini. I am looking forward to ordering them all. I also like the simple cartoon style of painting them. I was a young teenager when MOTU came out but loved it and still love it. As a HeroQuest huge fan I am looking forward to blend both games.
I picked him up from Salute, great mini as expected and I am hoping that I can pledge for just the two new factions as I have everything else already. The snake was tricky but so glad its not just moulded into the staff
There is a pledge for people who have everything released so far like us. It's the Captain pledge, which is for the stretch goals, the two new faction packs, and one promo figure for $99 (there is a new Zodac promo so you won't have to double up on a promo you already have). You can also add the dice tower for $20 and additional promos at $10 each.
Thanks. They have already showcased the six Snake Men that are coming in the box, and I would expect to see at least a couple more in the stretch goals for the campaign just to give the faction a few more options.
Holy smokes I love these MOTU videos, even though I’m outrageously jealous I don’t have Battlegrounds myself. MOTU is probably the only intellectual property I love more than HeroQuest. Alas, I made an agreement with my wife I’d only have carte blanche spending rights on one game and it was HeroQuest for me… but daaang these MOTU minis are AWESOME 🤩

Your King Hiss looks like his green is darker than I recall the action figure (too lazy to check), but I have to say: THIS KING RULES! Edit: I checked and while your version is indeed darker, it definitively looks more royal. A regal job and now enough with the childish puns 😉
I looked at a lot of photographs of the action figure from the Classics line, and his green armour looked quite dark to me, but perhaps it was the particular photographs I was working from.

This is not the same sculpt from Wave 2. The leg and tail are positioned differently and its body is lower. But yes, they have only released tyrantisaurus so far. A bionotops laser is available as a weapon card though. I am expecting to see Bionotops in the campaign. We are getting Snake Men and Preternians, and a bunch of unrevealed stuff so I am expecting it.
I just noticed on the campaign page they have said "expect more dinos" so I would say Bionotops is guaranteed, and maybe at least one more. On a tangent, I am really hoping to see some Shadow Beasts too.
King Hiss has a helmet that's like layers of snake scales with an eye mask, Shredder has a sort of samurai helmet with a crest and a face mask, so I don't think there was any inspiration there. It's actually a connection I've never made myself as I thought they looked distinctly different. Shredder did debut two years before King Hiss, so it is possible, but I don't see it myself.
Great shout out to Denver. That is a wonderfully deep cut. He's my friend and a whole lot more.

No, this is the same sculpt as the T-rex from wave 2. No other Powers of Grayskull stuff in the line yet.
