Dude awesome video, you were the only one I could find that went through the entire process without skipping steps. Good job. Much appreciated. Attempting my first rebuild shortly
@@LuukJSnijder could be a few things, bad ignition switch, bad coil first thing I would try is unplugging the engine to chassis harness and using the pull cord to spin it over it, if it gives you spark then you know the ignition switch is bad if it doesn’t it’s a good chance the ignition coil is bad double check all wires and grounds as well
@@Autovisions my CDI is good and I broke my stator taking the flywheel off so I know the stator is good it’s new. The trigger coil is testing good it’s just not sending a pulse. It sits slightly out compared to the flywheel. Wasn’t sure if that’s normal. Should be completely overlapped in my mind but it’s more kitty cornered if that makes sense. I’m talking depth not the air gap if that makes sense.
@@LuukJSnijder other than that I’m not quite sure unfortunately, make sure plugs are gapped correctly, haven’t ran into that problem myself so not sure what’s going on
Really appreciate this video! I have a 503 to rebuild soon and the 377 is nearly identical. This will be a big help as I start tearing it down. Cheers.
Im putting one together now. Its going to be converted onto a airboat. Im searching for a Bing 54 carb, or a Mikuni carb for a 377. Amazing how simple these little Rotax engines are!
Im rebuilding my lynx 3900 with a 377 at the moment, but had to watch this for motivation. I've had polaris all my life and every time i buy a rotax it fails on me. And they are so weird to work on compared to the polaris engines. Great video though! 👍
I used to use wd40 to hone my cylinders and they came out looking like yours, my old timer buddy told me to start using diesel or varsol and oh man do my cylinders turn out a lot better! also you could move up and down faster or slow down your drill to get more of a 35 - 45 degree cross hatch. your new motor will have a bit lower compression till you are able to run it a bit and break in your rings and mate them to your newly honed cylinder.
Nice job on the 377, I was wondering how you lined up the clutch to the secondary I had to swap out motors on mine and I took out the aluminum plate that the motor is bolted to and I should of just taken the nuts off the bottom of studs on the bottom crank case lol
I will be honest I never even lined it up, I just bolted the motor back down, seems like it’s okay other than I think I’m having a clutch problem because it seems like it engages at to low of a rpm so taking off is really slow but around 35-40kmh it just takes off
Awesome video,I'm trying to start a Bombardier rotax 377 not sure what year it is but it has electric start and 1 coil pack with 2 spark plug leads plus pull start the Serial #4936212 ,, I'm not familiar with the wiring ,but it does not have the cdi box on the engine it's on the frame I don't have the ignition switch or key.. it has the oil pump on the side with the pull start as the one u showed however the wires comes out of the engine ware you have you black box on your engine and the coil pack is bolted to the lower intake housing ,one coil pack fires 2 spark plug ,and 2 Mikuni carbs ,I have subscribed to your chat I pray u could help me figure out how to get spark ,the writings on suggest that it's probably a Russian made ,the Vin 4936212,any help will be appreciated 👍
Hey thanks! It sounds like you have a newer engine roughly the 90s, you said you don’t have the ignition switch or the key do you know if the wiring is there for it ? You can also unplug the engine to chassis harness it should be beside the ignition coil I believe I showed the plug in my video, if you unplug that you should be able to pull start the engine and have it run
Can somebody confirm or correct me, but I think that the three laying on floor are actually the older ones, and the one with CDI-box is actually the newest one?

No problem glad I could help!
Appreciate the work it takes to put a video like this together. Think I blew a crank seal. This was a handy watch.
Thank you!

It is so nice to see someone like your self, Exploring motors i grew up on. My Father had a Skandic 377r. Keep it up. Great vid.
One of the best informative videos I’ve seen. Exactly what I needed.
Glad I could help!

The 3 engines on the floor are older engines. And when you see the 2 small coils on a 377 it is equipped with points ignition.
Awesome thank you!
I have a 95 skandic 380 almost the same but when I bought it the guy before only did half a rebuild with bad seals
