I agree with Aoife that what we knit doesn't need to be perfect. Especially for those of us who are still learning. If we put the bar too high, it takes the pleasure out of the activity ! Today, I knitted in a beautiful park, with squirrels running around, and cats running after them. My tablet was playing some of your podcasts, and it was perfect.

There is a lot to love here ! Very interesting projects and FO. I agree with all the compliments other viewers have written. I also notice how polite and careful your are, to ensure you don't hurt anyone's feelings. That is an extra layer of quality to your presentation. Thank you !

I am inspired by the linen stitch. My mother used to do it, I was too young to appreciate, at the time, but with your presentation here, I can see how charming it is. I will practice a bit, then figure out something to make out of it. I agree with the two other reviewers, that it is done as 'comfort-knitting', because is goes slower. But the fabric is so special, that it brings inner peace, if done with the right mind set. Thank you for brining that nice memory of my mother !

There is no denying that Saskie Socks are like candy: just fabulous. I made them. They are fun to knit, as we always are looking forward to knit the next step, in the color chart. I learned one more thing, from that pattern: a new way for me to make a heel. My usual way was the flap and gusset. But I followed this Saskie pattern to the letter, and I like that style of heel very much. In my hands, it looks better than flap and gusset. 🍏🍏🍏

Your videos are unique : very authentic young woman who knits as a hobby, doing something else professionally, and living in an environment where warm clothes are not necessary in daily life. The passion is pure. It stems from inside the person, without necessity from a cold climate, Emily doesn't own a yarn boutique, etc. 🌴🌴🌴🌴 This is very inspiring to watch.

Very healthy comments you made, about the need to accept that what we make doesn't need to be perfect. In today's world, we need to hear more of that ! Yes, it shows that we are growing and learning, as a knitter. Alleluia ! 🎉 The point about knitting is having a good time during the journey. Then, the finished object should never be compared to one manufactured by the industry.

I found very charming and original, your discussion about planning " travel knitting ". It indeed requires planning. 💬💬💬💬 You did good planning. You acquired wooded needles and thought meticulously about how to package them and carry them [ with pens, etc ]. How sensitive it is, that you gave consideration to the comfort of people seated next to you, and planned not to knit a yarn that spreads a lot of strands around. You were thoughtful not to annoy people around you. How considerate that is ! ! ✈🪑✈🪑✈

The whole episode is excellent. And thank you for comments about travel knitting. You reminded me to prepare about that, as I will travel. Knitting is then perfect, to pass the time. As a physiotherapist, I didn't miss your remark, about preventing knitting hand pain. We must prevent it. Because once a sprain has happened, we usually have to stop knitting for many weeks, to heal. In this video, you mention being vigilant about getting hand pain related to doing a lot of purling. A sprain can also occur with long periods of knitting something that makes our hands or a certain finger strain over and over, with the same movement. Some stitch / yarn combinations may put us more at risk. Let's be prudent.

I am so happy you presented the Saskie Socks ! I now have the second sock on the needles. It goes fast, because I always look forward to see the next stage of the motifs, appear. So I knit and knit, without tiring. And there is something else: I want to knit a second pair of the same right away. Other places in your videos, you sometimes comment that when you finished this or that other project, you were so 'over it', that you had to go towards a totally different pattern, just to 'change the air', before you knit a given pattern again. sometimes you know you will knit a given sweater again, but not right now. 🌄🌄 But with Saskie Socks, I am not 'over it' ! ! I can start another pair right away. They are so fun to knit ! Also, the heel that the pattern makes us do, is fast and easy. Great ! ! ! 🌄🌄

Top notch video. I am intrigued by the hand warmers. We usually make full mittens in Canada. But the hand warmers would be perfect for late fall and early spring. I like the ones you made, a lot. 🐾🐟🐾 I agree with Patrizia and Aoife, that we should not let ourselves feel bad if there are some mistakes in out knits. Perfection is not the point.

I so badly want to make the Tolsta tee and I think Rebecca has made a v neck version which is a style that suits me better. (or maybe it's a cardigan she made?? I'll have to check it out.)
A good idea for the cami tops is to hand stitch a narrow ribbon to the underside or run a cord through the narrow straps to maintain support because the straps can be stretchy. I do this wth my crochet bags too.
I'm curious as to who the 'we' is that you continually refer to. Do you knit the garments wth someone else or share the knitting somehow, because you say it all the time and i dont know why.
One other fun thing that will come as a surprise to you :-) we all use and over use words when we talk (or podcast) or write. I used to say 'lots of' and 'really'. I didn't realise it but my subconscious had been counting your 'really's' and 'really really'. :-)) I gave up after 100!!!! Did you realise you say it for everything?? Hahaha! I put a post it note on my laptop with 'lots of' on it to help remind me not to say it and it 'really' worked lolol!!!
I'm so interested in the saddle shoulder and think it wld suit me too but I'm not game to try it yet. First I'll make a Tolsta tee. Thank you so much for sharing your knitting. Especially as you're in Australia like I am. I always feel our seasons are out of sync wth the rest of the knitters I follow but I knit and sew all year round anyway, I just can't always wear the items straight away!! And O ADORE your hand mitts!!!!!! Happy Knitting, Emily.

I hear you, Emily, when you say that you like to follow a pattern, do what you're being told, and you don't like to make adjustments. Right on. 🎯 I am going through a project where I literally have to re-write the pattern, in my own words and with the numbers of stitches, number of rows, etc, that I need to do. I have to do that because my yarn is significantly different from the one that the pattern is based on. So there is no way my gauge swatch approximates what the pattern is saying. So I am making rules of 3, to re-write the pattern. Hopefully, the end result will work. All this because I am stubborn about using this pattern with that specific yarn. 🎒 I really enjoy the way you talk us through your makes !!
