    Love love love this diy! It is so difficult to find affordable shoes that fit properly, are comfortable and coordinate with what I wear. Now I know there is a way to have all of these things in a shoe with just a trip to the fabric store basically. Thank you for sharing your design.

    Honestly, if I could make my own shoes, it would change my life! I have very difficult feet to fit, and a pair of hand-made shoes, made especially for my feet would be a little piece of heaven on earth. Thank you for your excellent video and thank everyone for their replies that I can browse as well.

    Wow how cool! I was so inspired ..I made my first pair of shoes using my sewing machine...I made my own pattern using masking around a pair of my own ballet flats and I cut up a pair of old sweat pants for the material..I don't have a rubber sole on them yet ...but they turned out Excellent!! Thank you for the video ..your instructions are outstanding!!!

    Cheri, what a life saver you are. I have medical issues with my feet and an no longer wear really hard shoes or heel :( So I have to wear soft shoes, no heels, and slightly larger than I used to. I love soft flat shoes but cannot always find colors or styles I like. I do however love to sew. This will be a heaven sent. Thank you.

    I SERIOUSLY LOVE YOU. Finally, non-frumpy homemade shoes. The majority of shoes if you ask someone where they got them and they said "I made them" they'd be like " _Oh, really?!_ I had *no* idea! O_O" Like, yeah, right. Lol they're wonky and awkward. These are legitimately stunning!! And the sole information was invaluable!! Thank you so much you Goddess!

    I will be checking out your pattern! I used to make shoes similar to this by hand sewing before I got a machine, and I never had a good material for the sole so I just wore them out with canvas soles and tried not to get them wet haha. I even wore them to school

    Very cute. Some advise, when stitching your topline to lining, under stitch on lining also. This will strengthen the topline so it won't wear out. In the shoe industry we use topline tape. Very nice work :-)

      Dianne Conroe I pressed your name underneath your comment. it alerts you that I asked a question. since the person didn't answer your question I would go back press their name and ask the same question again you can erase the first one by the little dots on the side. I hope that helps I want to hear do because I'm just learning to sew.

    • @idledreameress
      @idledreameress 4 роки тому

      @@dianehjoy2810 it means you sew straight stitch on the top of the lining layer (only - that is do not stitch through the shoe's outer layer) just below the seam join. It makes linings lay flat better. Search for top stitching on UA-cam so you can see the technique.

      I have never tried it. If it's thick enough and durable enough, it should work. You could also use cheap flip flop soles, just take out flip flop part. might make a good practice one anyway.

    I Love these! I am too impatient to make a sample so I make my 1st pair in lamb skin. No perfect but wearable! I didn't have the suggested interfacing (for this pair - I got some for my next) Had to take my first shoe apart about 3 times...sewed waterproof soles outside in, put strap A where strap B should have been...Little things like that. LOL I can't figure out how to post my picture though. I also bought the boyfriend/girlfriend oxford pattern and plan to purchase the slouch boots.

    Hi Cheri. Great tutorial, thanks. I went to your website, seeking for more info. I don't see much there new, some info is out of date such as an Etsy link to inner sole material...I am wondering, if you are OK? Nothing on your sites since 2016, I just found you today, March 7, 2018, I am hoping to find more of your work...you are truly blessed with talent. I hope as well health. Sincerely, Blessings to you and yours!
