    Wow. . .the transformation is great! I cannot wait to see how you landscape the side and back yards! Is the adjacent ruin yours? If so, what are your plans for it? Blessings from Texas!!!

    Slowly but surely, it's starting to take shape. I like the details in your explanation. I Like to see good workmanship and it shows in the, I suppose, tiles they laid on the stairs, footpath, the stabilizing of the corner of the building and the drain. Very nice.

      Thank you very much for watching and feedback. Our local builder is top notch. I also forgot to mention that the tiles that were used are slightly textured to make them slip resistant.

    🇮🇹 Hi, my wife and I stumbled across your channel and we really enjoy your videos about your house restoration!
    Knowing that you’re going to retire in Italy, what are your plans for getting residence or citizenship (since you have ancestors from Italy)?

    • @cerchiamo
      @cerchiamo  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for tuning in! We are happy to hear from you. We plan to retire in 4 yours years and work toward having permanent residence as pensioners. Unfortunately, the path to citizenship may take a while. Because my grandfather, became a U.S. citizen before my father was born, it will not be automatic for me… But we will get there! Thanks for watching 😀

    It's looking fantastic! The workmanship looks top notch. I'm wondering if you're planning on putting a handrail in to prevent slip and falls during the winter months? I know I'd be on my ars, lol! You and your wife are doing a wonderful job. Thank you for sharing your journey!

      Thank you so much! We are lucky to have a top notch local team on the job. At this time we have not considered a hand rail. Come winter, we may have re-evaluate the issue😀

    What city is that restaurant that's in the eroded out area in the cliff by the sea.

      Thank you for watching. We are lucky to have a good local builder on the job! The restaurant you are referring to is Grotta Palazzese - Poligano al Mare 😀

    I love it! Are the rocks on the roof to keep the tiles in place?

    • @cerchiamo
      @cerchiamo  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for watching! It’s very common in this area to rocks or concrete vine pole on the roofs to weigh down the tiles. Something’s the wind can whip through pretty hard and fast. Thank goodness we have not had any issues, but plan on getting a new roof next year. 😀

    Hi! We’ve been following your channel for a long time. We also purchased a home in Italy. We are in Canada and we are having trouble figuring out how w pay our property taxes. Could you give us any help? In Canada we receive a bill but it doesn’t work that way in Italy from what we have experienced! Thanks for any help you can give us. Stev and Tammy

    • @cerchiamo
      @cerchiamo  Рік тому

      Hi Steve and Tammy! Thanks so much for watching and following us!
      Before we went to Italy we had already closed on the house, so we introduced ourselves to the Mayor of Roccaspinalveti through Facebook.
      You can probably find your town on Facebook as well. When arrived to the Commune or Municipality of Roccaspinalveti, we met with the Mayor in person and she introduced us to the person in charge of tax collection. We provided him with our email and asked for the tax invoice to be emailed to us. We then send a bank transfer from our Italian bank (BPER) to pay the taxes. If you are not currently in Italy we would suggest emailing or contacting your Commune Facebook.
      We hope this helps and that you are enjoying your Italian house! Keep in touch!

    So you guys are only allowed 3 months at a time?

    • @cerchiamo
      @cerchiamo  Рік тому

      Thank you for watching! Right now we just travel for vacation which is never more than 3 weeks but we would be allowed to stay for 90 days. When we retire, we will file for permanent residency as retirees which is another process with different allowances to stay. We are looking forward to that in about 4 years 😀

    Мой американский друг!!! Я понимаю, что итальянцы просто обязаны предложить тебе больше работ, чем нужно, понимая - какой классный парень к ним приехал!))) Металлический отлив абсолютно ужасен, не эстетичен и он там просто лишний! На солнце он будет нагреваться как сковорода и ты сможешь жарить на этом чуде яичницу, причем, в общем-то, из своих яиц, если присядешь))) Крепления сверху "пляшут" даже визуально, не попадая в единую линию. А также имеют вмятины от притягивания, что характерно для фальца. Итальянцы, за счет того, что их связующие растворы гидроскопичны ( известь ) , никогда не парились по поводу дождя - потечет да высохнет. Заброшенные города стоят столетиями и им всё ни почем).
    А в целом ты молодец! По хорошему завидую! Италия - супер красивая страна! Удачи, мой американский друг!

      Thank you much for watching and your feedback! The builders have exceeded our expectations and we look forward to continue working with them on other parts of the house. This has truly been a great experience and a dream come true. We thank you for the kind words.
