To be fair that's the reason he said in the call he didn't want to donate the money yet, so it didn't appear like he just did it for being called out. That said he cared more about his self image than donating the money because it still took him months and a couple of videos to do so.
We don't know what the full amount of donations is supposed to be because they withheld funds from the golf event on their tax document. The donation they did make wasn't even the full amount they said was in the Open Hands' bank account. This absolutely still needs to be investigated.
Yeah this is far from over. If the gold tournaments were also raising money for The Open Hand foundation for literal years, then why are we only seeing the money from the live streams being donated? Where did all the golf tournament money go? This is their last ditch effort to save face. It's also kinda gross to read the article written as if this was done out of the good of their hearts. Bullshit. They were literally forced to donate it. The entire article is disingenuous.
Lol they donated the lowballed estimate of muta and Karl. To me just proves they don't have the money. Or just as worst, they think they can get away with only donating the lowball and are gonna hold on to the rest, assuming the completionist has the money
yea i bet jirad could easly come up with 100,000s(or more....getting a loan remorage house. maybe that's why it took him a month to do it) if money was missing he could make up the difference , so this to me doesnt prove the was no fraud. it gives me more questions. jirad will NEVER EVER be forgiven by me. at best he lost 50k from inflation while the money did nothing.
@njm-ps5wx also the problem is this is significantly lower than what the full amount should be right now. So right now all we can confirm is that 600k of about a million is still in the accounts. 300K+ is still a LOT of potential skimming.
I'm 100% certain that it came from Daddy's pocket, The guys committed enough fraud that he probably is sitting on millions of dollars, what's a few bucks to prevent your kids from going to jail
So bizarre to raise money to fight a disease that killed your own wife/mother but then proceed to do nothing for a decade with said money They really let that woman down
At this point I doubt they actually gave a fuck about her at all. How did they think no one was gonna do the math and realize they didn't donate the money? They had to have known this was going to be the outcome eventually. Easy way to completely ruin your reputation.
It gets worse, her husband has been documented with another woman before she even died. There's pictures of them together before his wife died and pictures of them kissing and holding each other on his birthday which was like two months after her death Dude moved on before even losing his wife and then pulled the sympathy card
Imagine running a charity collecting people's money for a decade and only donating money one time after being called out. I bet this is going to be there one and only donation as well.
I'm convinced the money was placed into another money making endeavor, and that's why it took them some time to donate it. They had to divest the money over the course of a few weeks.
They literally cant, they still owe 55K from the tax fillings that weren't donated. They also still have to give explanations for whatever they did with the golf tournament earnings because that money wasn't registered in the records of the Open Hand Foundation charity. Anyways, no one should donate or sponsor them ever again after this fiasco.
This whole situation is just getting more and more confusing.. like the first excuse was that they wanted to find "the right charity", only to then donate to the charity that was listed all along? It's so weird.
We also don't know what the full amount of donations is supposed to be because they withheld funds from the golf event on their tax document. The donation they did make wasn't even the full amount they said was in the Open Hands' bank account. This absolutely still needs to be investigated.
It's not really that confusing. They were planning to keep the money. They got caught, so now they're trying desperately to look like they were planning to do the right thing all along.
I mean that excuse has GOT to be bullshit. If he believed that the charities he was naming weren't good enough or weren't using the money the way he felt it should be used, why keep publicly endorsing them? It doesn't make sense.
I hate the mindset that exposing something like this would be considered snitching. There's a difference between being a snitch and being a whistleblower
Being a snitch is like telling on your sibling for cussing. Being a whistleblower is saying, "hey y'all, i think serious crimes are afoot, lets look at this."
Yeah this is not "snitching." If it was snitching, then that would mean that the viewers who donated knew it was a scam and were just donating for the sole reason of secretly making Jirard 's family rich...
It's weird one of his hangups was it not going to some doctor's salary or something and it's like, what do they think the money is supposed to pay for if not for people to do their job towards those efforts? The worst would be if it just went in to some owner's bonus or something.

The article discussing it doesn’t call out what they did or that they were basically cornered into doing this. It’s made it seem like this spontaneous, wonderful act of kindness, and that just really bothers me.

Even if money was donated, there still should be an audit to know where that money came from. For all we know, that "donation" probably came out of pocket from Jirard and his family and not from the foundation itself.
My personal tinfoil is that they put the money in a safe investment scheme. They make a small but not insignificant interests return, and if they get caught, they pull the capital and donate it.
Near the end of the video Jirard explicitly addresses this concern and claims the money came from funds which were never touched in the account, says he or his family didn't direct deposit from personal accounts to make the recent $600K donation. Is this true? Who knows. Well, actually the IRS knows and will find out when they audit his ass.
That's what the Mormon church does. They claim the money they collect from their members isn't being used for profit, but they invest the money and use the *interest* to fund commercial ventures.
Well since this has now escalated to legality territory, I suppose we as the audience have no say in which who we think is innocent. This is going to be interesting
So assuming this WASN'T a scam attempt, which is still highly likely, they need to shut the organization down and stop taking donations immediately. Best case scenario they are so incompetent at running a charity that they cannot be trusted with any funds anymore and worst case scenario they were waiting a few more years before vanishing the money and ghosting the internet or something. Either way they need to disband the org and move on, I don't see a way you walk away from this level of malicious theft / utter incompetence.
They're not getting off that easy. The government is going to crack down hard on this. You can believe that. The IRS don't play when you lie or misreport on tax filings.
Oh it was 100% a scam. The fact there are 100,000s of dollars missing from all the non Indieland events that just "disappeared" and never made it into the IRS reports, tell us they've been skimming off the top this whole time and hoping no would would notice if the majority of the money just stood still.
And in the end it goes to the original one they said it was after they spent a decade “searching for the right one” I can’t believe anyone is buying this crap
Well, main issue is the inflation but...in the grand scheme of things, the money is still there and it was donated which is a BIG plus in my book. I often watch Coffeezilla where the money is simply gone, stollen by scammers so...i am willing to chalk that up to grave incompetence, though definitely would not donate to them
Not defending the douchebaggery, but you don't need to imagine... The progress would be none. It's an uphill battle that takes decades, a lot of expensive equipment, and a small army of phds from all over the world. It's the kind of thing that takes dozens of billions and at the same time all that money and years isn't guaranteed to result in an effective treatment. 600k is pretty much chump change in the grand scheme of things.
@@vincenzodellama7158you know what chump change is better than? Nothing. Which is what they were donating. And now that they did this the amount of people donating is going to diminish. So they lost future donations and made it even more chump change. End of the day it's a major fuck up
Yeah, no kidding. There are way too many discrepancies with their actions and comments to different people that call into question the foundations actual goals and operations. Like why did Jirard's brother(cousin?) email Karl and say they have been actively looking for charities to donate to. The same message was given by Jirard himself when they got his comment on the situation. Then how come he was on his podcast a few days later proudly name dropping his foundation and all the charities they have actively donated to and partnered with? Like how the fuck does that occur? Then there's all the questions of the golf tournament charity event and where all that unaccounted money went? I wanna give people the benefit of the doubt but this is blatantly in bad faith, and I REALLY hope that people don't see this donation as the end of the story. This is the absolute bare minimum of what should happen.
In order to commit fraud, your actions need to result in personal gain, which clearly hasn't happened here with the money being there, being donated, and his name being drug through the mud. Quite literally zero personal gain.
@@cowmath77 there's still all the twitch bits missing and the golfing stuff. Charity fraud is the act of using deception to obtain money from people who believe they are donating to a charity. Often, individuals or groups will present false information claiming to be a charity or associated with one, and then ask potential donors for contributions to this non-existent charity. If this had never been brought to light through Karl and Muta, I highly doubt anything would have been done. The personal gain stuff also doesn't apply when talking about group organizations due to the fact people can noncomplicantly be involved. So them stating to be involved with a charity they clearly were not is already based grounds for deception.
@@cowmath77 Charity fraud can be as simple as claiming you are donating to a charity that you never actually did. Jirard has been doing this for years. That's fraud. People who pay taxes are always conscious where their money goes, if these people aren't feeling that, tells you quite a bit on how they are. I bet those people didn't put up even a dollar towards that charity, which also explains this behavior

Also it seems really suspicious that they donated exactly the amount brought up by Karl and Mutahar in the first video and none of the other hundreds of thousands of dollars (from the golf events, etc.) that have seemingly disappeared completely.

Some of the money was donated. They had 650k, and that isnt even including what they earned this year, which would be another 100k at least. Theyre still sitting on another 150k minimum, before you include the money that seems to be missing. Why didnt they donate all of it?
@@topsdaily_productions oh I know. That's what I meant when I said "before you include the money that seems to be missing." The whole thing is shady. They donated almost all the money to one charity. I wonder if this will end up being "I pledged X dollars" and they didn't pay out like Amber Heard.
Also the bits, subscriptions, and tips that were promised to the charity that also seemingly vanished. Probably a good 300k at least that just up and vanished.
200-300k is still probably lowballing it. We know that they're missing like 75k from the grants from that other charity person. After indieland started, they seemed to have stopped reporting their golf tournament income, which if we're generous and say from 2018-2023 they'd continue making around 35-40k a year that's 210-250k This year had an indieland too so that's another 80-100k Then we're missing money from subs, bits, superchats, raffles, auctions, any donations sent to the charity via patrons of the golf tournament. Again, for at least 6 years (We don't know if the 2014-2018 reports that are the golf tournament include these additional funds or if it's purely just sponsors) which is likely another 100-200k Which would put the ballpark for missing funds at around 465-500k. Again, just since indieland at least (Though it wouldn't surprise me if they'd been skimming from the golf tournament the first 4 years too. In fact, the success of it probably prompted doing it with indieland)

Two major benefits to the work Muta & Karl put in: 1. They forced a reaction, aka donation and set things in motion to ensure future transparency. 2. They raised this question: If the reason for the money sitting there for 10 years was legit, meaning they could not find a suitable receiver, why the fuck did Jirard continuously name drop organizations that they didn't deem as good enough?
Also when they got called out and this scandal happens he found the national leading charity for disease within a few weeks.... So are we aiming they couldn't have found this organisation within a few Google searches so what the fuck were they doing for 10 years.

Just this year on the golf charity website Open Hand says they raised $144K. That is for the golf charity alone. We have the pictures of the sponsorships and the prices they pay. It is fair to say the golf charity makes between $80-100K a year. That money just vanishes from the tax files. So that $600K is most likely half of what should have been donated.
Money was probably sitting in a high interest account, so it could rack up interest to siphon off until noticed it was never donated. The average 5% APY right now is a pretty good income
1- Receive donations 2- Keep it during 10 years, investing. 3- When someone discover, use some lame excuse, donate part of the money, save your reputation 4- Repeat
I don't think anything was invested. 600k is only like 2/3 of the full money made by all of the funding avenues that the charity uses, I believe the 1/3 was pocketed
Although this is definitely good news, it wouldn't have happened without this issue being brought to light. It makes you wonder how long they would have held onto it. Let's see what the explanation for the missing golf money is.
Probably that their accountant (whoever.that may be) is grossly incompetent (which wouldn't be a surprise) so they probably put it into a different account for the golf money and never sent it over to the Open Hand foundation "until they found a charity to send the money over to". That's still bad but I assume that will be their excuse

Yeah I'm betting they were selling off chunks off Bitcoin for the past week to come up with this donation without having to reach into their bank accounts lol.
Seems inefficient to donate to a charity (One Hand) that is donating to another charity (ATFD) that is effectively donating to other charities (Comstock Foundation)
That’s the point. Tons of skimming. There’s plenty of corruption in charities, but open hand didn’t even try to donate a dollar to a good cause for 10 years until they got caught, and who knows how much they skimmed during that time? Also who knows what they were doing with the enormous amount of money over 10 years? Add on the lying and story changing…
It's exactly for this reason that I try my best donate to charities that directly take action to help their cause. I avoid those third party charities if I can help it.
Glad that the money was finally donated. But if their goal WAS to make restricted donations (on top of finding a charity that meets their standards) then they need to make that clear. I'm glad that you and Karl made these videos to shine light on the issue since I'm sure this thing would have stayed under the rug for who knows how long.
Something tells me the reason the money was donated is cause you were right about the unreported money through the golf tournament and Indie Land. It would make perfect sense knowing the walls are closing in that they'd donate the $600k hoping everyone stops looking in to the unreported money. Considering the timing this really seems like damage control as opposed to actually being charitable. It's an amazing thing that the $600k was donated, that kind of money can go a long way, still it's hard to not think about the missing funds and the 10 years this money should've been being donated and how much research time it lost and the money losing it's value over time with inflation.
This was 100% damage control. Why else would they donate $600K instead of the $655K that the tax filings claim they have? They're hoping to distract everyone with the "almost" enough money, so they can bury the actually missing money.... which they absolutely are doing right now...
Not just research time it lost and money losing its value. This likely delayed cures or treatments that could save or improve lives. This actively harmed people due to negligence when the money was meant to go there immediately.
Charity scams are much more common than you would think.. many charities either don’t properly disclose where the money is going, or purposefully mislead people as to what the charity is for… its one of those things where it creates an environment where embezzlement can run rampant.. seeing as that many youtubers have created their very own charities and foundations, i think its fair that all charities should be examined thoroughly, since youtubers dont have the best track record with intergrity…
Cooperate "elites" have been running this scam for even longer, the youtubers are just catching up to how it all works. The only way this type of thing is gonna change is if they the government were to actually do something about it. But with the problem of lobbying... it's an uphill battle. As is many things money related in the USA.

I honestly think that they used the donated money, and when people started to ask questions about where the money was, they went to their savings or took a bank loan and donated that money instead.
Uh... No. If they used all the money and then got a loan to pay the charity it doesn't magically fix their books and make the fraud go away. It's a lot more likely the money was in fact always there sitting in the account. That doesn't explain what happened to the other money they should have had, though.
I think they kept all the Indieland donation money in the bank, and that's what was donated. However, they skimmed all the golf money, and Twitch subs/bits that off the top and pocketed it. Which is why that money seems to be missing
From appearances, it seems like a large portion of the money (The direct earnings from indieland) was simply left in the account to fester, with them occasionally dipping into it to fund their events. Likely as a sort of decoy so when questioned they can be like "Look, the money from our fundraiser is still here! We're not taking any of it!" While the golf tournament money, the bits/subs, grants from other charities and whatever other sources of revenue they received they took as direct profit. As not a single cent of it appears in their books and the $600,000 donation they just made doesn't include it. Now that their excuse of "Look the money from our fundraiser is still here" is being questioned, they're quickly responding by donating it in hopes people forget about all the missing money.

My father has brain damage from several cardiovascular incidents and Man... you are spot on, on how families have to deal with these situations... Fortunately we live in a country where most of my father's surgeries where basically free but medications and physical and cognitive therapy are expensive and my brother and I have both quit our jobs for some time periods in order to support him and be caregivers. Horrible how this money sat on a bank account for so long (speciaclly during the COVID!!), but glad how at lead it will now help research and families. I still hope they get audited and are forced to donate whatever money they under-reported and face justice for all of this.
This story was really personal to me...I watched my Grandfather wither away with Dementia and Alzheimer's... we were the primary caregivers because we didn't want to put him into a home... he would wake up scared in the middle of the night and not know where he is... he forgot(many times) who me and my sister were. He thought we were my father and aunt. It got so bad because he also had very bad Asthma and was on oxygen but would forget that he had to breathe through his nose and not his mouth... he didn't realize he would get less oxygen that way. So to see this story really got under my skin. Thank you and Karl for putting in the work on this. Immense amount of respect to you guys
Happy to hear those news. It is rough to see so much anger accumulated everywhere, but it did lead into something that will help people’s lives, so I appreciate the efforts to uncover the truth.
Thank you Muta and Karl for all of your time and effort into this. You're doing amazing work to make sure the right thing is done and that the money is actually donated. Thankfully the money was donated now thanks to you, Karl and everyone else that helped. I don't know if you'll see this but we appreciate everything you do!
That site looked like one of those sites where you can pay for an article to be written about you, and then it's made to be high up on the Google hits so that it shows as soon as someone Googles your name/company/organisation. I don't know if I trust that they are a real paper, I think that was done just so people who Google this shit will see that as one of the top results.
It's a Press Release put out by the PR firms hired by Open Hand and AFTD. It's not a news article but it's also pretty standard for this sort of thing.
Had a feeling this video was coming. This does not absolve Jirad for lying to us for years and for not coming clean public. I am glad that someone will get help from this money (which was the whole point). This has been sobering for me. Thank you.
When you have to fight this hard to get someone to do the bare minimum after 10 years, it's no longer their accomplishment, it's yours. They may have had the money, but you're the reason it ended up where it belongs. I'm honestly amazed things turned out this well. I was half expecting the money to just be gone. Here's hoping the rest of the money can be accounted for and donated. Regardless of what the legal implications are for Jirard/OpenHand, at the very least they should never again be trusted as a charity. Even if the goal was just to accumulate funds for a lump sum donation, there needs to be a reasonable time limit. You either raise the required funds over the coarse of a year or you settle for a smaller donation. Waiting 2 years would already make me borderline suspicious. 10 years is just crazy.
He was found out and still went on live stream afterwards still claiming he was sending money to all the causes. Didn’t donate straight after being called out for it. I bet they think they can smooth it all over and come back to trying to get donations.

They've still got all that hidden cash from the golf tournaments sloshed away like infected squirrels paranoid at the world. Why they think they're gonna get away with that just because they didn't declare it when the evidence is out in the world, they have so much more to account for that they hope people either forget or don't look too closely at.
Unfortunately, charities are often scams, that exist to skim money off of. It's why you should never buy the breast cancer pink items or anything that gets a pride flag slapped on it during June, because not a penny actually goes to helping breast cancer or the lgbt community
@@grizzlywhisker This is a dumb take. There's PLENTY of good charities out there and good meaning people as well. Don't make blanket statements like, especially ones as wildly wrong as what you've just said.
Something I've not seen many or anyone talking about is the way in which the money was donated. Jirard has been on record with muta and carl stating in the ten plus years they've been fundraising for charity they've not found one who could or was willing to accept their donations in how the money would be used. Yet here we are today with one of the original charities fully accepting these funds in the way they were wanting. Why wasn't this done years or even a couple of years ago when he found out about the money if we're to believe that? I'm sure other charities they spoke about would be able to do the exact same as well. Something that took ten years realistically once backlash happened took barely a week to get done. That to me shows or rather leads to the belief they had no desire to give away the money with how simple the process actually was to expedite.
I am really glad the money was donated after all. Not just for the benefit of those who will be helped by the research and caregiver support, but also for the sake of all of those who have made donations (through Indieland, etc). I know most people who donated weren't rich, but they still shared what they could to help others in need. And I'm glad that was not in vain, now. That being said - I find it incredibly ironic that the organization the OHF ended up donating to was one that they already knew for years (and whose name they actually used to collect donations). Weird how that organization wasn't good enough for almost 10 years, but now suddenly is worthy of their donations 🤔 Anyway, I do hope that the potentially unreported golf cup donations can be traced down as well and that the participants charitable gifts actually land where intendend - in dementia research/support, not in a specific family's pockets.
I donated to charity:water as part of a GametoAid campaign. A year later I got an email with a map link and GPS co-ordinates to the exact water well my money went towards, cost breakdowns and a list of donor amounts totaling the cost. There were pictures of the Kapiko/Mtukula Village and the pump. This is what a charity soliticing puiblic donations should be doing. If your doing annual fundraising events I would damn well expect 2020s donations to be out the door to projects asap and brought as testimonials to 2021s event to show the good done so far. What I don't expect is for it to sit there depreciating or evaporting to operating costs.
Just a reminder that even if all money has been accounted for and the charity did nothing illegal. Making misrepresentations such as "We don't touch a penny, it all goes to research", or claiming the money was already donated when it wasn't is still 100% charity fraud. The founder of Build The Wall charity was prosecuted for merely taking a salary after he said no one would take salary. That case was political, and it's unlikely Completionist would face prosecution; but technically any AG from a state that had somebody that donated to Open Hand could prosecute him for charity fraud.
It's funny how Jirard said it would be suspicious if he just donated the money right after the interview...and that's exactly what he did. How oddly specific of him to mention...
Them having the 650k in the account all this time isn't as exonerating anymore considering how much they were stealing through the other means (gold tournament, bits and stuff). It seems very possible to have that much money in the account as a nice emergency/retirement fund and only use the unreported money. Plus they didn't add anything from 2023.
I'm happy the money was finally donated. Hopefully Jirard's organization acts with much more transparency and honesty from now on. They should probably still be audited, but if there's anything I don't expect the government to do, it's doing its job properly.
That's one thing to look into, but also there is still no actual proof the money was ever sent. After all, a web article is written by a person, a person that can be bribed to write what they want. It's all still very sus, and more investigation should go into it.

@pizzanopastano9159 No man, them acting like this was a great act of charity, as well as, going with their original orginaztion after "searching further" for a decade???? I've said it a few times but I'll say it again. Greg's legal threat was the warning we all should have taken. It looked bad in the moment, but in hindsight he was justifiably looking out for himself. Whether he knew about this or not is irrelevant. He knew Jirard well enough to know that shit would hit the fan eventually.

I wish they'd given the exact amount donated...$600k is less than the expected amount but could be rounded down. Also wondering about money from this year. EDIT: HA should have known that'd be mentioned in this video - thank you for being so thorough!
There's still some strange things. What happened to the raised money in other events they've held, and did he actually have the money or did it take so long because they had to scramble and use personal funds to reach the potentially missing 600k
Pretty much what I was thinking, there’s still 50k from Indieland, the golf money, and all the indirect money from Twitch. They still need to be audited.

I was thinking something similar, might explain the delay as they scrambled to get the money together
An incompetent criminal is still a criminal. Just knocks it down to a charge of "conspiracy to commit", "attempted", or something similar.@@cowmath77
@@cowmath77 Charity fraud can be as simple as claiming you are donating to a charity that you never actually did. Jirard has been doing this for years. That's fraud.

Nothing else explains that behavior towards this case. People who pay taxes are always conscious where their money goes, if these people aren't feeling that, tells you quite a bit on how they are. I bet those people didn't put up even a dollar towards that charity, which also explains this behavior

Some of the money was donated. They had 650k, and that isnt even including what they earned this year, which would be another 100k at least.
Theyre still sitting on another 150k minimum, before you include the money that seems to be missing.
Why didnt they donate all of it?
Don't forget the undisclosed gold tournament money they probably have 200-300k in an account
@@topsdaily_productions oh I know. That's what I meant when I said "before you include the money that seems to be missing."
The whole thing is shady.
Yeah I want to see what ends up happening with the IRS because either they stole the rest of the money or for some reason didn’t donate the rest.
200-300k is still probably lowballing it.
We know that they're missing like 75k from the grants from that other charity person.
After indieland started, they seemed to have stopped reporting their golf tournament income, which if we're generous and say from 2018-2023 they'd continue making around 35-40k a year that's 210-250k
This year had an indieland too so that's another 80-100k
Then we're missing money from subs, bits, superchats, raffles, auctions, any donations sent to the charity via patrons of the golf tournament. Again, for at least 6 years (We don't know if the 2014-2018 reports that are the golf tournament include these additional funds or if it's purely just sponsors) which is likely another 100-200k
Which would put the ballpark for missing funds at around 465-500k. Again, just since indieland at least (Though it wouldn't surprise me if they'd been skimming from the golf tournament the first 4 years too. In fact, the success of it probably prompted doing it with indieland)
This will likely get lost in the greater conversation but thanks to you and Karl this charity now has +$600,000. Thank you. Open Hand, in the most lenient perspective, became the exact type of inefficient money pit of a charity they were hoarding their funds to avoid.
Staring at those potential lawyer fees made it go from 0 to 600000 real quick.

Two major benefits to the work Muta & Karl put in:
Watch as those very organizations were the ones they donate the money to.
Doesn't matter if they donate all the funds for damage control, there's still the question of those golf tournaments. 👀

Hopefully y’all don’t let Jirard off the hook. This whole situation was not good and they had other agendas.
Always do the right thing! After you're caught red-handed and have no choice but to do the right thing!
Money was probably sitting in a high interest account, so it could rack up interest to siphon off until noticed it was never donated.

1- Receive donations
2- Keep it during 10 years, investing.
3- When someone discover, use some lame excuse, donate part of the money, save your reputation
4- Repeat
i dont think #2 happened. as per original exposey, the money is there (no outbound transaction)

Mutaha u really shouldn't feel the need to defend your actions. The completionist misled his donors for nearly 10 years. Jirard and his family have been profiting off the back of others' empathy. Disgrace, period!
Furthermore Jirard finds a worthy charity in less than 2 months after sitting on the money for 9 years, wow.
The question now:
Is this from the money that was raised through the events/from public donation or is that they scraped to hide the potential charity fraud?
I would bet the second one. Probably used those couple weeks wiring money back into the charity account thinking Noone would notice.

I'm glad that you and Karl made these videos to shine light on the issue since I'm sure this thing would have stayed under the rug for who knows how long.
yup if he is that bad with other people money maybe he need to be upfront about it
Something tells me the reason the money was donated is cause you were right about the unreported money through the golf tournament and Indie Land.
Charity scams are much more common than you would think.. many charities either don’t properly disclose where the money is going, or purposefully mislead people as to what the charity is for…
its one of those things where it creates an environment where embezzlement can run rampant..
seeing as that many youtubers have created their very own charities and foundations, i think its fair that all charities should be examined thoroughly, since youtubers dont have the best track record with intergrity…
Cooperate "elites" have been running this scam for even longer, the youtubers are just catching up to how it all works. The only way this type of thing is gonna change is if they the government were to actually do something about it. But with the problem of lobbying... it's an uphill battle. I honestly think that they used the donated money, and when people started to ask questions about where the money was, they went to their savings or took a bank loan and donated that money instead.
That’s pretty obvious honestly. Of course they emblazoned all the money and only donated now because they got caught.
Ya why did it take so long to donate the money if it was there the whole time
Uh...
We're not taking any of it!"
While the golf tournament money, the bits/subs, grants from other charities and whatever other sources of revenue they received they took as direct profit. As not a single cent of it appears in their books and the $600,000 donation they just made doesn't include it.
Now that their excuse of "Look the money from our fundraiser is still here" is being questioned, they're quickly responding by donating it in hopes people forget about all the missing money.

Jirard has been on record with muta and carl stating in the ten plus years they've been fundraising for charity they've not found one who could or was willing to accept their donations in how the money would be used. Yet here we are today with one of the original charities fully accepting these funds in the way they were wanting. I'm sure other charities they spoke about would be able to do the exact same as well. Something that took ten years realistically once backlash happened took barely a week to get done. Thanks for the $600k donation from you and your team, Muta!
Audit needs to still go through this and the golf charity.
Weird how that organization wasn't good enough for almost 10 years, but now suddenly is worthy of their donations 🤔
Anyway, I do hope that the potentially unreported golf cup donations can be traced down as well and that the participants charitable gifts actually land where intendend - in dementia research/support, not in a specific family's pockets.
That's great that something finally got donated, but those shady golf tournaments and other financial discrepancies still need to be investigated.
Thank you Karl and Mutahar
I'm happy the money was finally donated. Hopefully Jirard's organization acts with much more transparency and honesty from now on. They should probably still be audited, but if there's anything I don't expect the government to do, it's doing its job properly.
It needs to shut down, it cannot be trusted
About that....
The completionest response is out. Can't wait for the follow up video
Now look into who is on the board or running AFTD to make sure the money is not being laundered
That's one thing to look into, but also there is still no actual proof the money was ever sent. After all, a web article is written by a person, a person that can be bribed to write what they want. It's all still very sus, and more investigation should go into it.
Exactly.
He finally "completed" the donation.
Too bad he needs to finish the dlc of his 2023 charity donation
This should have been in the thumbnail 😂
It only took multiple weeks, multiples videos, multiple callouts. He gives it his completionist rating of, Avoid It.
That we know of, there's the question what came from the golf tournaments
When I saw this title: “THANK GOD JIRARD FINALLY USED HIS SINGULAR BRAIN CELL TO FULL CAPACITY!” But seriously, god, this whole situation has been frustrating! I’ll never see Jirard the same way again!
atleast he hasnt run and nothing shady was going on
@@dragongrandmaster What makes you say that? There's still the Golf money, Twitch donations and funds raised from events like Indieland we haven't heard about.
@@dragongrandmaster I mean, I guess, but that doesn’t mean just because he didn’t do that he needs to be praised or anything. He and his family still didn’t donate the money for almost a decade, so he still did something bad, just not as bad as what you said. But I do understand what you’re saying!
just happy he didnt went dark or all money is lost@@pizzanopastano9159
@pizzanopastano9159
No man, them acting like this was a great act of charity, as well as, going with their original orginaztion after "searching further" for a decade???? No they donated because they got caught, 600,000 was the lowball number. They threw out 600,000 to an org they've been "wanting to" donate to .... for a decade....
They had full intentions of NOT donating the money.
I'm glad to hear the money has finally gone where it was intended to. Scary to think how things might have gone, if you and Karl hadn't brought this to light. Thanks to both of you for being vigilant, upstanding individuals.
Let me be a cynic: Has it been paid over, or have they just pledged it?
At this point, we should see actual records showing the money has been donated, other than this article.
Good point.
I think they still need to be pressured to sort out the inconsistencies regarding the golf tournament. The idea of shady charities really upsets me
Im both surprised and not that they donated. They could only sit on it for so long, but to see them actually do something for once is wild
He was caught. That’s why he donated. He would happily not donate if he wasn’t under a spotlight
There is no need to correct a mistake no one knows about, especially if it wasn’t a mistake until it became known
I wish they'd given the exact amount donated...$600k is less than the expected amount but could be rounded down. Also wondering about money from this year. EDIT: HA should have known that'd be mentioned in this video - thank you for being so thorough!
Man, that microphone sure draws focus. Literally.
Thank you guys so much for making this possible. I'm so happy for these INCREDIBLE NEWS
As someone who spent 7 years caring for my mother with dementia, thank you so much for drawing attention to this and forcing them to actually donate the money. It’s been hard to stomach this whole situation.
Well this is a good outcome. Well done to the reporting by Mutahah and Karl for doing what the mainstream Media should be doing and holding public figures accountable. I find it notable that the PR said the money was raised through online charity events, i.e. indiland, and no mention was made of the golf tournament.... Still, at the end of the day, the money is now (finally) going where it should have in the first place
