God vinny's "thank you" at 18:40, the sorrow in his voice, that was the one moment I remember back when I listened for the first time that I just broke and wept. Vinny being sad just feels like Hell froze over. Miss you Ryan.
Just here to say that we still miss you Ryan. Vinny’s emotion was so poignant, and then Jeff breaking the ice with “and now let’s go to EMAILS” just shows how perfect this era of GB was in terms of personality and versatility. Ryan Davis Forever
I discovered this site around last summer and it's easily one of my favorite gaming sites. They aren't worried about generating controversy they just want to have fun with games and Ryan has definitely been a factor in my enjoyment. I truly envy anyone who was able to experience him while he was alive. May he rest in peace.
I still think about Ryan. Of course I do, because he left an impression on every person whose life he touched. He was a brilliant man, kind and endearing. He had a remarkable command of the English language. His death at just 34 years old was a profound tragedy and thinking about it always makes me tear up. May he rest in peace.
Thank you for linking the podcast. I joined Giant Bomb early last year and never really knew Ryan. I was curious about who he was as I have seen some of the older videos and he seemed like a wonderful guy. Sad to see him gone.
Man.. I Still remember that day. I was feeling rough so I called in sick that day just planning to relax and saw the update on the site. Never knew the guy but it floored me so I was glad I wasn't at work.
When this episode came out I just couldn't litsten to it, still haven't. But I did listen to this entire video, man it was really hard by the end, not used to hearing them be so sad. Rest in peace Ryan, you will be missed
I only really heard of Giant Bomb when news of Ryan's death went around the internet, I started watching some of the old stuff with him in, whilst also, of course, following forward with the guys... but I didn't listen to this episode for a couple of years. I knew I really needed to experience the magic that was Ryan by catching up on the old site content, and it made it mean so much more when I eventually did listen to this.
I needed something to listen to while at work and so I (as a Super Replay enjoyer) started listening to Bombcast when Dan Ryckert came aboard. However not long ago I heard a recommendation to just start from the beginning (Arrow Pointing Down) and I'm glad I did.
I did get to play against a "Nacho Boss" back on "Infected" for the PSP. If that was you Ryan, you were the last person I ever saw play that game. RIP.
I remember the day. I was literally watching a premium video 20 minutes before the news hit the website and I saw it. the timing was so fuckin weird. I was sure it was a joke. Unfortunately it was wasn't. The guy was larger than life, and his antics will be remembered.
The Hollywood Life article they mention. I remember seeing this when it happened and laughing really, really hard. hollywoodlife.com/2013/07/09/ryan-davis-dead-video-game-personality-dies/ Thanks, Ryan.
You funny fuck Ryan. You made Giant Bomb, and be happy your brothers, sisters, friends and family made every part of your legacy so rad and something that'd make you proud. Rock on Ryan. Rock on Giant Bomb.
This still hurts in 2023. Love you, RTD. RIP big guy.

I listened to this whole podcast in one sitting while lying on my bed and crying. Still miss this guy.
Pudge I only knew him from the bombcast and quicklooks, never met him, and he still managed to have a massively positive impact on my life.
Yea I always listen to the podcast while driving to work and remember crying my eyes out.
The last five minutes of this podcast episode were the hardest to ever listen to.
Got locked out the day this podcast dropped. Still remeber coming home from work and breaking into my apartment only to hear this. RIP THE KING
I've only listened to this episode once, while I've listened to all other episodes multiple times =\

I am so glad that at times when I miss him most there is so much Ryan Davis content to go back through...

I can never finish this.
This was so insane. Between this event and Jeff leaving Gamespot, it seems like fans have gone through the wringer with these guys.
I love you Ryan. Rest easy.

I've not listen to this since it first aired. 2 minutes in and I'm thinking it's been 20 already. Damn it's hard to listen to.
We all miss you Duder. RIP Ryan Taswell Davis.
