Yeah I quite liked it. There's NO way what the law enforcement did is legal though. But if you put that aside and just enjoy it, it's fine. I loved the MC. I find myself rooting for these charming serial killer characters, they are so likeable. I WISH, I SO WISH, the movie had the balls to do an actual bad ending, okay so he's out of cuffs? Nothing is going to happen sixteen guards will unload him from that truck. But they just can't seem to ever do that. Deep Water is one of my favourite movies simply because of the incredible BASED ending. Ana's character is so loyal and appealing.

And the one song worth hearing more than once was when that Thinker guy joined her onstage. Too bad they made him an ugly stereotype. But as for her? Just the usual run-of-the-mill one-of-hundreds of ubiquitous teeny-boppers clogging up the music scene with bland pap. She's talented but Janis Joplin etc. would blow her and so many others off the stage in a nanosecond. It's a shame the music industry is a toxic and empty wasteland anymore.

See I have a hard time not putting the sixth sense on that list. Signs is one of the best without question but the sixth sense competes acting wise and movie wise. Movies I'll never forget people's reactions in theaters for a couple of those movies specifically signs. When that alien walked across the screen ppl were losing it and my heart skipped a beat. 😂
7:10 - I FRICKIN KNEW IT!! The instant you mrntioned that his daughter was that singer in this, I just knew that was going to affect this movie a lot. I can't recall when the last time a filmmaker had done this with their kids but i dont care if i was a Dad that is Shamalyan's line of work, i wouldn't have his kid hijack the film to make it about THEM and put the actual leads in the backseat!😤
I really enjoyed the movie. I am good that there was not a big twist. I think everyone thinks that there was another big twist, but it was nothing big. Some of the reveals were good. As you mentioned, Harnett was amazing. I would definitely watch a prequel with Harnett killing his victims.
The twist is the butcher is the boy that starred in the cough syrup commercial in The Sixth Sense, whose cheese slid off his cracker after surviving the alien invasion in Signs, which caused him to move close to a small house by the ocean, about the size of the unabomber’s cabin, in Old, before his land was bought out by the resort, drastically below market value, driving him even more crazy as a result, which caused him to develop D.I.D as a result, so he went to the same phyciatrist that Kevin saw in Split, where one of his personalities was a father/serial killer called the butcher, who then took his daughter (possibly imaginary) to a concert in the film Trap; and right before the credits roll, there is a close up of the butcher looking directly into the camera, who proceeds to take off his skin-mask, sort of like Brody in the Village, when it is revealed that throughout all the films, Shamalyan himself was actually both villain and the hero all along.
Saw it earlier today.. thought it was a good movie overall. Kept me entertained! Only thing I didn't like was how he ultimately got out of the arena. The whole reveal to the singer. Didn't quite get on board with that. Like a lazy way to get out was to take her hostage in a way.
Yeah same and I was like why ru revealing yourself to her you just exposed yourself. No matter the outcome if you get out of the stadium you’re gonna get caught.
Josh Harnett is great in this roll his performance stands out especially in his scenes with Shaleka Shyamalan (Lady Raven). Lets just say she is a better singer than actor.
I was planning on going to see this in theaters, but your review makes me think I can wait. I love your content, Chris. Your channel is one. of my favorites.
Yeah M. Night Shyamalan daughter Saleka Shyamalan is actually known as an American R&B singer-songwriter and actress. I think he wants to focus more on his daughters career. Ishana just directed her first project The Watchers and now Saleka career is about to take off specially in the music industry.
Been deep in depression lately once again, happens every so often, noticed i haven't been on your channel as much.. love u bro, cool dude. Thanks for making these videos. You were like a pal when i had none for a few years now. Left a like, peace
3C you were on point about the 3rd act falling short but I kinda enjoyed the confrontation cooper had with his wife in the kitchen. They could of potentially implemented a wild twist at that moment but unfortunately that didn’t happen😒
I'm 38 so its great to see Hartnet again, he really brings a great performance. Its the subtle notes he hits when playing Cooper. Bringing the audience into his mind... or what we think we know of it. It really feels like this story is just getting started. So much more to be explored. I'm my opinion this is the first movie of a true trilogy.
I love ya Chris, been watching since the news in the Chucky remake, really happy to see ya out on the red carpet! Really hope you keep inspiring people like you already do ❤
Because nothing really happens. It wasn't thrilling. It wasn't suspenseful. It was clearly there just to highlight his daughter's music and to kick-start her music career. We saw no kills even though the movie is about a killer. We saw the killer make dumb decision after dumb decision even though he's meant to be good at what he does. They take what was the best thing about the movie (Hartnett trying to escape the arena), and just take it back to his house and make the singer the lead character (M Nights daughter). The acting was poor. The writing was laughable. What more do you want?
I thought the twist was going to be that it was all in his head. That he really wasn’t the killer but thought it was cool so he mentally kind of larped it in his head. I was so excited because I thought I had it!
tbh this is still great movie lol the cheesy dialogue is a acquired taste. i can't even force myself to knit pick this one 😭M night was locked in with this one, i had fun
Little late to this but so far the first time we have different opinions on a movie 3C. I really loved and enjoyed the movie. This is my first M. Night movie too so maybe it’s like in my favor but I walked out wanting to see it again and wondering what they could do if they do some sort of sequel. I do kinda get the whole messy 3rd act stuff but at the same time I was just thinking “what is gonna happen next? How they gonna end it??” Overall for me it was a 9-10/10
Sorry Cris, I just saw the movie this morning and I have to say it was great!! It wasn't too cheesy it didn't fail to disappoint. M's daughter wasn't too bad as a singer. Josh Hartnett was amazing. It was good to see him on the big screen again. I have to disagree with you: there was a plot twist toward the end that you don't see coming. Very entertaining. Great movie. A real good time
I ignored the so-called critics and watched it for myself. Just left the theaters and LOVED it. People should start going to see movies for themselves and not let youtubers tell them what to think.
That was definitely an effective thriller... Until the ending. I won't spoil it but there's something really dumb that happens at the very end that really took me out of the experience.
There were a lot of things I liked about this movie. The premise, and Josh Hartnett was great but literally everything that happens in the movie is unbelievable. Soooo many things you have to suspend all logic and human behavior. I kind of knew what to expect going in so I still enjoyed it but it was absolutely ridiculous at the same time
I JUST FINISHED WATCHING IT!! …OoOo okay… this sure was FASCINATING. CINEMATOGRAPHY was Amazing. I love Concerts so i’m already loving this movie from the Get… hmmm as for the Storyline.. i thought it was more fascinating to Explore the mind of this Butcher.. like there wasn’t a twist, but the Unveiling thruout especially the last scene with his wife.. I thought was dope. Like to me… i couldn’t help teether back and forth how this Man could love his daughter and be a good dad but at the same time do these horrible things.. The layers of him was definitely Fascinating and how Josh Played it was really well. ..I love twists, but even though this didn’t have one.. I’d say it’s still a Pretty Solid Thriller worth watching. i give it a 9/10.
I was really excited when I heard about this movie, especially since it puts two of my favorite things together. Horror and music. I always love watching your videos. I was sad to learn that this movie doesn’t really have a twist. I want to make a movie of my own about the dark side of the music industry one day. I honestly predicted that it would be so cool if the killer was in fact the singer, Lady Raven, herself. I think that would have caught a lot of people offguard.
I wanted to love this movie, but the 3rd act ruined it for me. Super confused on why he couldn't have just walked out of the concert with his daughter afterwards. He could have easily answered a few questions to the FBI and been on his way VS the route he chose. Still love M Night though.
4:30 my theory of the twist was gonna be that its another split situation. Where this guy has abilities or something. Serial killer with powers in the unbreakable universe. Where we are gonna see this go from bad to good. Hahahaha
I saw it last night, and I actually 1000% agree about your assessment. After giving it some thought... if I'm being generous, i think he was TRYING to layer mutiple levels of different characters feeling their own sense of feeling "trapped". Problem is, it's just too convoluted and messy in the third act when it goes on too long. Ughhhhh
I liked it overall, but mainly bc I love Josh Hartnett. But I think that was the whole point for M. Night. Get a big named actor who's been out of the game for years to get people to come see his daughter sing. I know Josh can act, but the way he was delivering some of his lines at the concert felt like Mark Walberg in The Happening like you said. I said that at the theater and it made me upset bc he can deliver lines way better then that. And then you think the movie is over but it's not lol. I liked it, but my friend who was with me said it wasn't plausible so he didn't. Overall it was okay but just felt like a push to get his daughter out there and known. She could not act at all.
Man I couldn’t agree more. If Raven had some acting chops it would have completed the film more but pfffff damn it. Night has got to get back to being the big fundamental
I actually liked it better than I thought. Josh Hartnett was great. The story and script was good enough for me. I completely agree with you about M. Night's daughter having a bigger role than she needed to be.
Watched it last night, honestly I loved it all! I do understand some “bad” acting and some plot points but I loved Josh Hartnett’s role. And the singer becoming a bigger role I honestly didn’t have an issue with it, I feel like everything in the movie just sort of made sense in its own way! I honestly wanted more leaving the theater
Josh Hartnett was amazing in the movie. He has come pretty far in his career to The Faculty to this film. I enjoyed the film but act 3 needed some work. I was waiting for the twist but never got one. I’m glad M. Knight is like an Alfred Hitchcock appearing in his own movies.
I watched Trap a couple of hours ago. Had a blast, one of my biggest surprises of the year. The 3rd act is a bit messy and the "twists" make a lot of sense. But man, M Nights daughter cannot act im sorry. And the mid credits scene is hilarious.
Dang his and his other daughter’s films (Watchers) bomb in the same year. He used to be one of my favs and I still love a few of his earlier films. Unbreakable is still awesome.
I liked it but agree with you it was missing a few things from being great! I think an R rating with some shocking horror elements from the butcher would've been badass!
Here are several inconsistencies and unanswered questions I noticed in the movie. Perhaps you can make another video addressing these: (1) WHY is Cooper taking his daughter to a concert and leaving his wife and son at home? Wouldn't they all want to go to the concert together? (2) If police were tipped off by Cooper's wife, WHY didn't she give her name, address, etc? (3) If police knew the killer would be there, why not check people as they come in instead of on the way out? (4) If police found ticket receipt, couldn't they find out their seat location? (5) If Cooper's wife drugged him with the pie, why did the drugs have no affect, and allow him to keep going? Did the tazers neutralize the drug? (6) How could the police not notice Cooper removing the bike spoke and how could he remove the spoke so easily?
8:34 i was just not getting this from the movie. I guess people have a firmer grasp of reality than me....idk. i was following and buying what i was watching. I loved the rest of the movie after the concert. The interaction between him and his wife to name one. I just really liked it. I think with this genre of storytelling its always gonna ask you to set aside your disbelief in how these things shape up. We also cant forget too that their are a lot of serial killers out there in real life. People still are at large, i mean have you looked at the stats for that stuff....its crazy. I definitely encourage anyone to look it up. We think that their aint no way these people can get away with all the systems and things in place but people in real life are a lot smarter than the movies. You think the way the third act comes out is wild but we still have serial killers that cant be found to this day. All that to say, im buying it. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
I feel like movie goers are super hard to make happy these days. I agree with some of what you said. However I was a fan of the music and I liked how it ends. I really enjoyed this movie. I like how this is a father’s appreciation for his daughter. I liked how his daughter became a device in the end The acting was good. I’ve seen much worse for first time acting. I think all of the humor was intentional in my opinion and didn’t stick out. I didn’t find the end to be silly. Josh is great as the butcher and him getting out at the end is the twist imo you think after all of that he finally is caught but then he’s not.

Yeah M. Night Shyamalan daughter Saleka Shyamalan is actually known as an American R&B singer-songwriter and actress. I think he wants to focus more on his daughters career. Ishana just directed her first project The Watchers and now Saleka career is about to take off specially in the music industry.
Oh we can't have that at all.
Been deep in depression lately once again, happens every so often, noticed i haven't been on your channel as much.. love u bro, cool dude.
Thanks for making these videos. You were like a pal when i had none for a few years now.
Left a like, peace
Keep fighting, you got this!
I’m so hype for Trap and I love M Night
Josh Hartnett killed it in this movie. I thought this film was a lot of fun. Messy but a good time.
He “killed” it 😂
3C you were on point about the 3rd act falling short but I kinda enjoyed the confrontation cooper had with his wife in the kitchen. They could of potentially implemented a wild twist at that moment but unfortunately that didn’t happen😒
Agreed! My sister thought the wife was also involved. That would have been good! Psychopaths don’t work well together but still
I'm 38 so its great to see Hartnet again, he really brings a great performance.
Really hope you keep inspiring people like you already do ❤
I saw Trap yesterday with two friends, and I absolutely loved the movie, and I don't understand the unnecessary hate the movie is getting.
Me either it was dope
Because nothing really happens. It wasn't thrilling. It wasn't suspenseful. It was clearly there just to highlight his daughter's music and to kick-start her music career. We saw no kills even though the movie is about a killer. We saw the killer make dumb decision after dumb decision even though he's meant to be good at what he does. They take what was the best thing about the movie (Hartnett trying to escape the arena), and just take it back to his house and make the singer the lead character (M Nights daughter). The acting was poor. The writing was laughable. What more do you want?
@@vicvinegar4540 I 100 percent disagree
@@tyleroutland435 Good for you. I'm just explaining why people are giving it "unnecessary hate".
@vicvinegar4540 well I don't agree with the unnecessary hate at all people are being way to harsh
I thought the twist was going to be that it was all in his head. That he really wasn’t the killer but thought it was cool so he mentally kind of larped it in his head. I was so excited because I thought I had it!
I have my 80's Trapper Keeper to take notes on this review.
i liked old. alot of deaths and a kickass premise, this premise was good too but it didn't really land. A serial killer movie needs way more deaths.
I am so excited for this, hope you liked it!
tbh this is still great movie lol the cheesy dialogue is a acquired taste. i can't even force myself to knit pick this one 😭M night was locked in with this one, i had fun
For me it feels like Hannibal trying to escape the concert esque
155 veiws in 1 min, yet he's doing so much better than me in views 💀💀💀
Nah, bro fell off.

A real good time
The biggest twist is M. Night is using this movie as a launching vehicle for his nepo baby.
The 'traps' subreddit really breaks down this movie in depth.
Even the name “The Butcher” shows just how uncreative Shamalama-ding-dong has become. 🤨👎🏿🗑️😂
So sad. I was so interested in the premise. I like to still judge things myself but this sounds more like an at home movie for me.
I ignored the so-called critics and watched it for myself. Just left the theaters and LOVED it. People should start going to see movies for themselves and not let youtubers tell them what to think.
Trap 2 the deli man
I’d watch it
I'd watch it cause I run a deli
That was definitely an effective thriller... Until the ending. I won't spoil it but there's something really dumb that happens at the very end that really took me out of the experience.
There is really nothing to spoil, hes the butcher. The cops arrest him. The end
@@Nellyv1lle No I mean there's something that happens that the cops would never allow.
Actually no question for me why showing cops allows)
@@claytonrios1 right, they would've never let him have that much free range of motion right after being arrested lol
At the end? I was out of it early. There were about 10 things before the end that were really dumb and made no sense.
There were a lot of things I liked about this movie. The premise, and Josh Hartnett was great but literally everything that happens in the movie is unbelievable. Soooo many things you have to suspend all logic and human behavior. I kind of knew what to expect going in so I still enjoyed it but it was absolutely ridiculous at the same time
What's crazy is something like this could happen in real life concert.
9/10 is a lot better than just "pretty solid", my guy.
Love the energy Cris! Keep it up!! 🤌
3:16 Wrong! PG-13 films centered around adult content, but catered to families are always terrible!
I wanted to love this movie, but the 3rd act ruined it for me. Super confused on why he couldn't have just walked out of the concert with his daughter afterwards. He could have easily answered a few questions to the FBI and been on his way VS the route he chose. Still love M Night though.
my day is made when Chris drops fr
Your review was kind of a borderline spoiler lol....too much info lol
That said, you're my fave critic and always look forward to your content!
Hey Chris know this is random but I love the channel I been here since 300k not exactly the first subscriber but can’t wait to see you hit that milli
Ooh, I like the vampire angle with Josh Hartnett. "30 days of M. Night"
4:30 my theory of the twist was gonna be that its another split situation. Where this guy has abilities or something. Serial killer with powers in the unbreakable universe. Where we are gonna see this go from bad to good. Hahahaha
M trap shama trap really trapped me into the trap with this trap
holy trap trapman I don't wanna get trapped into a trap by seeing this trap of a movie..damn you u m trap shamatrap
Hi 3c, I hope your day is going good
I love your movies reviews 3C Films I will check out trap now I was just waiting for your review I can't wait to watch it ❤
All I can say is that, Trap has potential but wasn't utilized to it's very best. But still enjoyable❤
Nice 3c
I’ve moved on from M Night after Glass, unfortunately.
I want to believe again, but this didn’t sound like it yet.
I look forward to M.Night movies as he tries to do different things.
Man I couldn’t agree more. If Raven had some acting chops it would have completed the film more but pfffff damn it. Night has got to get back to being the big fundamental
oswald down the rabbit hole trailer 2025 Ernie Hudson as Oswald Jebediah Coleman
For some reason, Josh Hartnett reninded me of Bale as Bateman in American Psycho.
I can see it
I actually liked it better than I thought.
Love the change of the LED strips
Josh Hartnett was amazing in the movie. He has come pretty far in his career to The Faculty to this film. I enjoyed the film but act 3 needed some work. I was waiting for the twist but never got one. I’m glad M. Knight is like an Alfred Hitchcock appearing in his own movies.
Love the leprechaun shirt my man!
I watched Trap a couple of hours ago. Had a blast, one of my biggest surprises of the year. The 3rd act is a bit messy and the "twists" make a lot of sense. But man, M Nights daughter cannot act im sorry. And the mid credits scene is hilarious.
she can't dance either
Dang his and his other daughter’s films (Watchers) bomb in the same year. He used to be one of my favs and I still love a few of his earlier films. Unbreakable is still awesome.
I was at the premiere for this
Awesome video 3c films 😊
I felt the exact same way. At first I liked the idea as the 3rd act started but it tended to drag a bit. Loved the first 2 acts.
Loving the Leprechaun t-shirt.
Love the review Cris! Keep up the great content!

Yo Miss Bliss!!!! She was the highlight. I knew I knew that voice!!!!
Excited for this review, haven't watched. Just need to say, I WANT THAT SHIRT 😂
Also just watched Trap
