Does Cathay Pacific serve hot towels? Because, I flew in economy class onboard Singapore Airlines and they served us hot towel immediately onboard before takeoff and there was free wifi onboard as well
No there’s only antiseptic wipes but Cathay serves you a proper meal with metal utensils, you’d only get a boxed meal & wooden utensils on Singapore Airlines
Economy prices are very similar between SIN-HKG. SQ tend to have lower fares from Australia to Asia/North America and CX cheaper to Europe. One thing to note, at Changi, Cathay fly out from the newer T4 (security right after/before immigration) and SQ is T3 (security at gate)

Good Evening from the JFK/EWR area. You're correct about the SQ meals being in boxes but SIN-MNL on SQ gets a tray like CX921 HKG-CEB and the A321neo HKG-MNL CX907. Locals going to the US from Cebu usually go on Korean Air Asiana EVA Air China Airlines Cathay and Singapore Airlines Asian option. SQ crew used to be better but dont know now after covid things nay have changed as i heqrd the quality n standards of the crew have fallen as in needing to quickly just bring in the bodies to do the work with flights resuming expansions
Pre-covid I would say Cathay was clearly the superior product for Economy to Business. Now, Cathay is still better for Economy and Premium Economy. For Business, it depends: long haul maybe Singapore, short and medium hall probably Cathay. The Cathay lounges are vastly superior (more of them, emptier, better food, much better design) but Singapore is more consistent with service on board and their long haul business class seat is superb. I really like Cathay's food for Business but I know consensus loves Singapores more. Entertainment Cathay has a better selection but SQ is pretty good too. Airports: Changi is better as a tourist destination itself but the terminal design is awkward, the carpet is so deep making it difficult to roll your suitcase, and security is awfully placed at the Gates. Changi wins awards but it's not as pleasant to transit through. I know for non HK residents, HK Immigration can take time, whereas Changi is more efficient. Things might change though. The Aria Suite on Cathay will bring the hard product advantage squarely for Cathay for everything aside from First Class.
I think the biggest problem cathay's 330s have is the older seats, but good to know that at least u got the newer ife interface on ur flight. The meals indeed seem nicer than SQ's catering, but to be fair cathay also offers much less on teir shorter flights to taiwan, hanoi, or even manila
Might prove to be a bigger loss for business class passengers tho, they end up getting outdated recliners from the dragon days instead of the super diamond seats
Hey Jayden, wanted to ask for your opinion, so I had just booked my flight with CX then I got seat 40K do you think it’s way too close to the front, to get a good shot of both the wing & the engines? Thank You!
Hi Jack, Cathay has several types of A330 configuration, best to check here and see which one you got, it'll also show you the window position of location of the wings. www.aerolopa.com/cx
Hi Jayden enjoyed your plane flight gee there was a lot for breakfast on some of the flights I've been lucky to get a rock hard muffin for breakfast. My 2 son's are going to Cebu in September. I hope you both enjoy it.
@@JaydenWong It's actually doesn't matter where they fly, they fly to their alliance hub or not it's irrelevant, in fact many airlines fly to the destination which is not their alliance hub. Istanbul is now growing to become a major destination for tourist's & business. CX can fly there with their A350's for connecting the Asia Pacific passenger's to Istanbul since if they fly nonstop with TK it's more expensive.
@@NadifPutra787_9 it certainly does! Majority of the TK pax transit at IST hence they can fill up the plane (and make fares pricey for those starting or terminating at IST). CX won't be carrying much to/from IST alone. FRA is a good example. Not a oneworld hub but Cathay codeshares with Lufthansa to fill up the 'empty seats'. Lufthansa on the other hand, fly to HKG and pax can transit to NZ with Cathay. Indeed many airlines don't fly to their partner hubs but there must be a strong reason for them to do so. Tourism/business is one: Do HKers or Turkish people travel A LOT between the two? Any culture ties? I'm afraid not, when I was in Türkiye last month I didn't encounter a single person from HK, whereas in London they're everywhere. (2) cargo is big business for Cathay, I can't speak for CX here but if Cathay could bring a lot of goods to/from Türkiye they could make the route viable even with a passenger plane.
@@JaydenWong(1): It is uncomparable to compare between Istanbul and London for HKers, these cities are fairly different in terms of cultural & economic reasons, London and Hong Kong is one of the world largest financial hub and HK was ever been occupied by the British rule for around 150 years, while Istanbul is only for tourism & some business hub. (2): CX can create a codeshare partner with Turkish Airlines to feeding the passengers connecting in Istanbul since TK only fly once between IST and HKG.
These older CX seats on the A330...I don't find them much different comfort-wise than the newer (current) econ seats on rest of the CX fleet. Even though these older seats are slightly wider than the current CX econ seats. I don't know if thats just my strange personal opinion or if it is shared by others. As for CX vs SQ, for economy, CX has better IFE while SQ has better meals, so they are about the same. Its the business and first class that SQ has a bit of an edge over CX. We'll have to wait for CX's new business and first class seats to see how it will be like. Then there is ticket pricing. As you said it yourself, CX isn't known as a cheap airline, yet their product is only above average. SQ isn't necessarily cheap either, but if you factor in their business and first class, they do offer a (slightly) better value for what you are paying.
Hey Jayden! It looks like your bf was dying to speak in your mic 😂 so why don’t you let him speak? We would really like to hear some comments from him 😂😂😂😘😘😘

@@JaydenWong i think CX can create a JV partner with TK, so asian pacific passengers after flying CX can directly connected to TK flight on HKG.

15:20, Wow that's a firm and hard landing. Hope the passengers on your flight are okay.
Unfortunately it has less experience pilots and cabin crew and are recruiting from Mainland China thus losing its HK ID...😢
Finally a chest shot!!! Been waiting for 84 years!!! ❤❤❤
🤣
Welcome to the Philippines!! I wish you stayed longer and I invite you to visit Davao City, my home airport. 😊
