- Iran launched around 180 missiles at Israel on Tuesday in response to the killings of Tehran-backed militant leaders, prompting alarm across the region and vows of retaliation. Most of the missiles were intercepted by Israeli air defences or by allied air forces before they reached Israel. FRANCE 24's Mark Owen is joined by Dr. Ahron Bregman, Political Scientist, Senior Teaching Fellow at King’s College London and an Israeli war veteran who served during the 1982 Lebanon War. He says that Israel should refrain from a heavy-handed response and warns that an Israeli "attack on Iranian oil refineries or nuclear facilities will lead to a regional war."

Too late Israel overdoes it so many times already. Whenever there is progress with ceasefire Israel launching controversial attacks on schools, hospitals or other countries. Someone needs to stay in power to not go to jail.

The Iron Dome is a very intelligent defense. These are ballistic missiles which means their target is very predictable. If Iron Dome determines that a missile will not impact a populated are or otherwise high-value target, it will let the missile impact. That it has let many missiles go unopposed is not a surprise.
