Sam deserved it for heart but not points. Think that call was bs personally. 30 seconds more and he was done and if other dude didn’t respect him so much he would have put Sam away before the bell. It’s apparent Sam could barely stand. Hats off to Sam for being a warrior though, much respect. Damn good fight.

It's scored round by round. If a guy wins 4 out of 5 rounds, it makes absolutely no difference how close he was to losing by knockout at the end of the last round, he wins on the scorecard.
I agree that was a bs call. The scoring needs to be more in depth and technical then instead of a simple tally of number of successfully placed hits. The scoring should be dictated by number of landed hits plus a severity level from minor, moderate to severe. Smash landed far more devastating hits than Sam and did overall more damage so logically he is the winner... I agree.
@@reinatycoon3644 I agree but sometimes it’s not that easy because people who have been in the sport for some time develope scare tissue that tends to cut and bleed easier than say a fresh fighter which would be consider more damage but really it’s old damage and could have opened up from a small jab so you see in a way that would be hard to score. But I see what you mean.

Two 10-8 rounds for Sam, one 10-7 round for Lt. the other 3 were close but I had Lt winning 10-9 on two of them.
They should not have crosseyed ref's judging fights.

Add kicking including leg kicks. That would put allot of current fighters out of competition. It is a difficult skill to learn. Lt knows it very well.

Man, if this stuff was put together just a bit better, BYB could go big. However, the ring announcer in my opinion has some work to do to get better. Glad they have Goldie, helps quite a lot!

Eye pokes intentional or not should be penalized. Pretty difficult to know if a poke is intentional or not. It's a great tactic.

Great fight both guys!! There’s room for improvement for both of yous but nevertheless you both are courageous and have never-give-up attitudes that are commendable! I agree with the decision. 2 knock down each. Sam continuing after the eye poke and getting up after both knockdowns earned him the win!
Does pure devastation of knock down count? Or the fact he could barely stand half way through the round. Many refs would have called that fight due to him going to the corner after being told to come her under wobbly legs getting up at 9 🤣. I would have ruled the other way. Simply because 20 seconds more Sam would be done, the fight was so close at least a draw. But that’s my opinion.

One of the most obviously scripted fights I've ever mostly slept through! Seriously I did! I woke up just in time to see the guy who was poked in the eye and staggering drunk for some reason get laid out flat on the floor twice and STILL WIN!!! Was this a liberal event where you won on emotional points only?

Sam started the fight looking like Robert Dinero and ended the fight looking even more like Robert Dinero..That was a great fight..proper call though..the loser only won one round the way i see it..
It's possible the judges were penalizing Nelson for sticking his finger in Liera's eye. Avoiding that is why most boxers wear gloves.

I love boxing but this is hard to watch. I know they take less damage than with gloves but their hands will be fractured over and over., not forgetting their face. Too tough for their own good.
