Companies like Bamford, Rau-Tech, Project X and others costumize not only Rolex, they can take any watch (luxury) and turn it in to a work of art. There is absolutely noting wrong with it. If you own the watch and can afford it, do what you want, you own it. There obviously is a want or a desire for these products because they sell, and some companies I've heard have waiting lists. Artisan de Geneve as I understand never own the watch they are modifying. Thus, the private owner requests a modification of the watch they own, the AdG provides a service. Just like Singer does with Porsches. Cannot be legally challenged!
These aren't counterfeit products though... lol. They take gen watches, and make custom cases and dials/whatever. But you supply them the original watch and they do their upgrades. Like a Brabus Mercedes G Wagon, if you'd like.
As soon as you apply or print ( as artisan de geneve does ) the trademark without permission of the trademark holder on any part ( in this case the watch glass ) this is called trademark infringement.
I thought I heard artist de Geneve did get sued previously by Rolex? And then restructured their business and this is why you must supply your own watch for them to modify. They couldn’t sell you a modified Rolex but they can sell you the service of customizing your Rolex.
DiW, AET, Bamford aren't replica watch factories though! Don't call them fake watch makers from China lmfaoooo. Lots of their watches are upper five figures, some into six figures.
@@greymarketpod Sure, non-OEM parts are now on to this watch. These are after-market modded watch with non-Rolex parts (case, straps, etc). That's fair, but I wouldn't consider them like chinese factories cloning them since they come from authentic/official companies like DiW/AET/ADG/etc.

as long as "I paid for it" I can do whatever I'd want to it. if then I decide to "sell it (for a profit)" why would anyone care, especially since we're talking about artistry. not your "bla bla around the corner in Shenzhen"-factory... I know it's the grey market that gets to be "impacted" BUT... people do what they want with them, no?

Yes but once you modify a Rolex, it's technically considered not authentic.

If they reproduce the rolex logo on a dial its a fake dial, but if they are just modifying parts and adding other parts its aftermarket.

They are actually a reputable brand that have worked with Heuer and Zenith among others.
