The particle WA can be used when contrasting/comparing. That’s one of the functions of it. By putting WA, the sentence emphasizes things we contrast/compare.
Kyoo wa ikimasu. Demo, ashita wa ikimasen.
Today (I) will go, but tomorrow (I) will not go.
This sentence compares/contrasts “today” and "tomorrow.” (Usually a particle is not used with a relative time.)
The sentence in the video contrasts/compares “before” and “now”.
I’m sorry that I didn’t explain this in the video😭
You are a great teacher! I watch your videos everyday. ありがとう。
Thank you for these super amazing lessons! These are really helping me learn Japanese super well! I appreciate it! :)
Thank you very much for such awesome lessons. Earlier I have to rely on subtitles to understand anime, but after watching all of your lessons, now I can already understand half of the dialogues. Although my vocabulary is still very small, so I don't understand many words, but I can learn them while watching anime. ありがとうございました.
Your teaching method is second to none! Satou sensei ,domo arigatou gozaimashita .
Thanks!
ありがとうございます!I really appreciate your support🙏✨
Excellent !
ありがとうございます!
thank you sensei, I learned that it is important to really keep recalling and refreshing te-verbs to have a smoother learning on its other functions
ありがとうございます。27話はいつ出るですか?待ち切りません😍
Hi Sensei, I think it will be helpful to include roman hiragana so that we can follow the pronunciations
Thank you for your comment! I added roman hiragana for my videos at first but not anymore because I want everyone to get used to reading Japanese letters. As a teacher, I meet a lot of students who struggle reading Japanese and have wrong pronunciation because they rely on romaji too much. If they are total beginners, it’s ok to start with roman hiragana (that’s why I put romaji at first) but continued reliance on romaji will hinder your progress🥲
Sorry for being a strict teacher but I really want to help everyone’s improvement🙇🏻♀️ For people who think they don’t need to learn japan letters, I want to recommend romanized textbooks👍🏻
Thanks for your videos!
At 17:38, is it grammatically correct to remove は or is it a necessary particle? You said it was for emphasis so I was thinking that maybe it could be removed or replaced depending on the intent of the sentence.
Thank you for your comment!
The particle WA can be used when contrasting/comparing. That’s one of the functions of it. By putting WA, the sentence emphasizes things we contrast/compare.
The sentence in the video contrasts/compares “before” and “now”.
It emphasizes the fact that the situation has been changed from before to now.
It is not wrong to remove WA here but because of this “contrast/compare” function of it, it sounds more natural to have WA here.
I’m sorry that I didn’t explain this in the video😭 I pinned a comment about this! I really appreciate you asking me that! ありがとうございます✨
@@satous-nihongo-playground oh! Sorry I missed the pinned comment. Thank you for clarifying for me!
Ano shitsumon arimasu . Watashi wa nichyoubi ni Nihon matsuri de shogi o oshite imasu .( I'm trying to say : Sunday I will be teaching shogi at a Japanese festival . ) If you are too busy , or prefer not to reply to my question ...rikai dekiru, daijoubu desu.
Thank you for your comment! So your question was if the sentence was correct or not??
It is correct! One tiny mistake is that ‘oshiete’ instead of ‘oshite’👍🏻
@@satous-nihongo-playground Henji wa kansha shite imasu . Sataou sensei wa shinsetsu desu . Domo arigatou gozaimashita.
New lesson....Yay!!
わたしは にほんご を べんきょうしています. I hope I am correct? 🤔
ありがとうございます!
That sentence is perfect✨
