The National Health Laboratory System has been offline since the 22nd of June due to a ransomware hack.
There has been very little in the way of crisis management preparedness. No communication. 10s of thousands of patients having significantly delayed or missing medical results.
And it is barely in the news. It is another very sad day for regular south africans who cannot afford 3k+/month private medical aid.

I am not a DA fan, but I hope they deal with SADTU decisively. SADTU is a serious threat to Basic Education and ANC had let it reign with impunity.
I totally agree !!
Amen to that! I feel exactly the same way… not a fan of the DA, but I pray Siviwe will get basic education on track
She will be dealing with strikes over the next 5 years. That's how the trade unions deal with political issues. I think she'll end up dancing to their tune.
I still say the teaching experience will not be the same....it's going to be bad and discriminatory
How is SADTU a serious threat to education ?
Its strange that a Major General runs second fidle behind a teacher in defence ministry 🤔

Happy with the new minister of basic education and other younger ministers.
I think the DA got a bad deal. But they at least have a chance to purge a few ministries of corruption. They will only be able to do that if they can remove corrupt civil servants. I fear the ANC will block this.
If the DA had social currency they would be able to do it but the party is comprised almost entirely of troglodytes.
Assuming the DA is not corrupt......

@@Mmatlhabi Usually I would say a big budget portfolio is less important than a portfolio with influence. But we have so much corruption that I have to agree with you that big budget porftolios are currently extremely good to have.
@@khomotsomutyambizi3569 "Assuming the DA is not corrupt......" ... NOTHING is absolute. But I am 100% confident that the DA is less corrupt by a very big margin than the ANC, EFF and MK. Just the comparison is ridiculous.

Sizwe we appreciate you man. Thank God for these social media platforms that give us a wealth of alternation information than what the these propagandist mainstream media has accustomed us to.
I don't know why you blame the opposition parties for the bloted government. The ANC did not keep to the agreement with the DA.
The DA for example were not informed of the bloated cabinet. Siswe is highly biased against them so he will blame them for everything😂
If the DA didn't know, what did they think was happening really? When they opposition they argued for the deputy minister role to be scrapped, yet they were only too happy to demand 7 deputy minister roles when it suited them.
@@yvonnememela918The DA were supposed to get one-third of governmental power according to proportionality of the GNU, but they only got half of one third. Sizwe your programme is the best in the land, I never miss it. I couldn't wait for you to make an analysis of the cabinet announcement.
You can’t expect the opposition to say let’s trim the cabinet and not include us at all, what’s the point of getting into the government then? They wouldn’t be able to influence anything at all.
Blame the ANC and the president for wanting to keep some silly portfolios to ensure the cadres don’t revolt.
Thx Sizwe for the emergency podcast, been waiting for your take since the news dropped.
My brother you are doing an incredible job. I have praised you before for your composure and tolerance to views you fundamentally disagree! The biggest problem I can see is that most of the state is infected with ANC cadres who will still March to Luthuli houses tune.
The new minister is only as good as the staff they have to work with.

Welcome to the Frankenstein GNU, aka RamaZilphoria, which has no unity. 😂
A kakistocracy is a government run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens.
I think giving Agriculture to the DA and land Reform to the PAC is an excellent move, because it means that the two ministries, together, will have to look at the economic & food security implications of Land Reform, and the reasons why land reform already carried out hasn't worked well (lack of access to finance & agri knowledge support??), and MAKE IT WORK! It's in everyone's interest for the land to be reformed into a productive status, with all the support it needs to be a success at ensuring maximum participation in SA's land as well as food security for the country.
The will of the people in KZN were not respected
I hate both the ANC and the DA equally but love how the ANC scammed the DA, giving them 6 non strategic portfolios then added 2 more for themselves 😂😂, they should've separated water and sanitation and handed them sanitation replacing communication so they'd block the sewer for 5 years 😂😂😂
don't worry ntwana, you doing just fine only people who doesn't like the truth will criticize your channel ,you bite all angels🤣🤣🤣
Thank you Dr Sizwe was waiting for this. I share similar views regarding public enterprise and the size of cabinets (and the double standards regarding that). Interesting point raised regarding agriculture and land reform. All in all I think IFP are the biggest winners of this GNU. DA has also made strategic choices with the inclusion of young people and women. I’m really not sure if UDM made the right decision joining the GNU. But let’s see, it’s going to be an interesting 5 years. It will also be interesting to see what the opposition’s plans are.
As a DA voter, I am pretty happy with the results. Onwards and upwards.
It is a net negative for us, but maybe even that can be used to spur us onto victory.

Thanks for this great analysis Sizwe and the time you put into helping all of us understand better. Regarding bloated cabinet, I think to an extent we carry emotional baggage with us regarding this because if we had 30yrs of efficient governance, I doubt anybody would be focussed on the size of the cabinet. I also think the splitting of portfolios is probably less to do with extending old anc patronage into new parties and more to do with the new parties coming in with demands that allow them to have enhanced efficiency around functions of government which align with political priorities. DA want to focus on demonstrating efficiency, economic growth and job creation, I would venture to guess that DA would've requested Agriculture being split from Land Reform because in 5yrs you can demonstrate all 3 these things in a focussed ministry. These parties still all want to prove something to south africans and use their time in cabinet to sell their brand. Flop or not in 5yrs time, that's a better place for a cabinet to start than apathy and business-as-usual.
The only way for SA to bring the poverty down and uplift its citizens is to grow , I would like to hear from our politicians how they aim to grow the economy ?

The anc signed the agreement to give representation to DA for the percatge they were bringing to the table..

Have you looked at the policies though? The best intentioned policies can fail, what more when the policies are not well intentioned.
@shafiyaalgiquadra1105 Yes I have and in my opinion policies have never really been SA's problem. Our biggest issue has always been a lack of good Governance and implementation. If we can just get our government departments working again, doing the basics right, delivering good quality services to our people. Once that is done, then we can look at revising some of our policy positions and we will be better placed to implment said policy changes with a more capable government.

If party leaders are out for power without thinking of the people and their needs ,God helps southern Africa
Nice video Sizwe, but I think it's not about how we should "think" of how we are getting fooled by political parties. But I think it's about how platforms like this that influence the electorate make the people realize what WE have done. Dude, the ANC sold the "rainbow nation" as a fairytale for their own benefit. But WE forced Cyril to dance to the song and forced them to make it a reality. You should teach people to be more self-interested, not what the parties give to us. We can't support parties like they are soccer team. If they don't serve "US" vote them out and be ruthless like they are when they lie to us campaigning.

My question exactly, "...How will this government deal with Africa's place in the world, with BRICS, with arising China..." Precisely!
Do we ever have reporters addressing Ramaphosa directly? Asking him questions like: "What was your thinking behind separating Agriculture and Land Reform?
Why did you appoint Angie Motshekga as Minister of Defence... You realise our men are dying in the Congo and they have inadequate support. Do you truly believe she is competent enough to deal with this?"
We want and need answers from this smooth talking character. Is CR ever challenged directly, by the media?
