This was taken from the Steven Stayner case. Kenneth Parnell had kidnapped him at the age of 7. When Steven had aged out of his sexual preference, he kidnapped another child, Timmy White, who was 5 years old. Steven took him to a Police station and reported what his "father" had done to him and about to do to Timmy.
Thanks for the insight!
What??? Sexual???? No way 😭😭😭. What monster could such horrific thing?! Rest in peace 💔
Is this really so surprising?@@ferdynand2402
Well, everybody died from this case.
Kenneth Parnell d. 2008 age 76
Steven Stayner d. 1989 age 24 (m. 1985 / 2 kids)
Timmy White d. 2010 age 35 (later became a Sheriff's Deputy)
Delbert Stayner d. 2013 age 79 (Steven's father)
The Stayner family story is WILD! They had 5 children: 3 girls, 2 boys. Steven gets kidnapped and their oldest son became a serial killer. He was convicted and sentenced to death.
Angela Bassett is such a great actress she makes a paint by numbers TV show, look like a movie!
I loved it when she played Tina Turner
She is so wonderful, no matter the role. One of the Greats who has had success in film and TV. 🥰🥰🥰
Angela Bassett never disappoints me. She makes me cry everytime. She is a very talented individual.
Unfortunately for the real Steven Staynor, his happy ever after didn't come. He never recovered from the damage Parnell did. He died after a car turned in front of his motorcycle.
It's such a sad story. But I'm glad we know it today, and people try to recreate the best they can.
Yup. It's a very heartbreaking story as he never quite managed to cope from the dark episode of his life and sadly he died young at 24 years old from hit and run accidents although he did manage to build his own family as he got two kids before his demise. The shocking thing is he's got an older brother who is a serial killer known as Yosemite killer and got a death sentence for his deeds.

@@CJ-vw3dt Steven Gregory Stayner (April 18, 1965 - September 16, 1989) was an American kidnapping victim and the younger brother of serial killer Cary Stayner. On December 4, 1972, seven-year-old Stayner was abducted in Merced, California, by child molester Kenneth Parnell. He was held by his abductor 38 miles (61 km) away in Mariposa County, and later in Mendocino County, until he was aged 14, when he managed to escape with another of Parnell's victims, five-year-old Timothy White. - Wikipedia
The Movie was called I Know My Name Is Steven and it is a true story. When Parnell in real life, takes another boy Steven saves him. This true life story is unbelievably sad, Steve was never truly able to recover.

Glad justice was served in here!
Woman announces she is 911 to a parent who had the service called on them by their child.
It is the procedure. You need to talk to an adult if the caller with a minor
@@ManMadeTv in what country is is procedure to ask to talk to the adult when a child calls in and says "the adult with me did a bad thing?"
That is nit procedure in my country. In fact, staying in character is part of a call sometimes, especially when it sounds like the caller cannot speak freely.
For real, how could she be so stupid? The kid said "my dad did something bad" and she promptly tells the dad, who is probably a criminal. Ugh.

@@coloredpencils01. Not stupid. Followed protocol. AND, she reported her conversation, and misgivings, to the supervisor. Actually, very smart.
". . . kids that age are pretty resilient." Not really. Kids who are traumatized at that age develop coping . . . no, make that survival skills that keep them alive. But they may never understand how or why or that they even have developed a trauma response that may kick-in without them even knowing it - because that's how trauma responses work, you are full-on in one without knowing it's happening. But, that resilience can become quite disabling later in life as an adult. My mother also said that about kids, that "kids are resilient". But, she would never tell us what we had been resilient to, even when questioned directly. Just silence. When I hear that word, the hairs on my arms and the back of my head stand on end and I get full body chills, that feeling you get that people used to describe as "someone just walked across your grave."
Thats pretty deep. I hope that you are okay
Honestly it’s a case by case basis.
We don’t all respond the same.
I had a phycologist use almost those exact words about survival. Told me my issues stem from my childhood where instead of growing and developing normally, I was developing survivior skills. He told me "For lack of a better word, you're a survivalist. You do what it takes to survive because that's all you know." We were talking about all the black holes in my memories and my tendency to self-sabatoge.
Oh, her voice is so powerful!
Guess we know now, she's the queen of Wakanda for a reason
Bryce Geyser does an amazing job at playing the older lost boy here.
This is based on a true story. There was a movie made of it several years back too. Only the real story didn't have a happy ending like this tv episode implied. The teen was majorly emotionally screwed up by the pedo that took him & of course everyone back home figured out what happened to him. Schoolmates bullied him & called him homophobic slurs. He had a terrible time reconnecting with his parents & actual brother because trauma had caused him to forget all but a few fleeting memories of his parents. To him they were strangers & he didn't feel safe no matter where he was because he knew determined criminals can get away with things. Despite therapy, eventually meeting a young woman & falling in love, graduating high school & seemingly moving on to independent adulthood, he couldn't get over his past, the victim blaming in his head & the bullying & knowing that strangers he'd never even meet knew what that guy did to him & judged him for it. He ended himself at like age 23-25 (don't remember exactly).
Thank you for sharing this. If you remember the movie title also you can put it down there in the comments
The story remind me of the book, "When Jeff Comes Home." It's worth a read.
He did not "end himself." He was killed in a motorcycle accident. The movie was "I know my first name is Steven." He was in captivity for 7 years, held by Kenneth Parnell. His name was Steven Stayner. His older brother Cary Stayner is a serial killer, currently awaiting execution for his crimes (he was known as the Yosemite Killer).

@@ManMadeTv I think she meant the storyline is sad.
Wow they used the names of the real kidnapper and the real fake name. That is on the nose.
Yeah, gotta stay original to the event but still make it a police drama I guess
@@ManMadeTv Well no, because it's a drama not a documentary. It's not about that case, it's an original story. Nobody would have been cross if they'd given them completely fictional names. Missing Persons had a similar story line and that's what they did.
Only his last name...
His real name was not "Eric", it was Kenneth Eugene Parnell.
This is actually based on something that happened more than 35 almost 40 years ago. In that case the boy escaped with the kid the father, who was not the kids father at all, keep them kidnapped so when he was six years old, but he escaped with the kid that had been kidnappedafter him well say that I edited. I cannot edit. I do not have hands that properly and I’m using voice to text and tends to write things as it wants to also tends to punctuate as it wants to can’t do anything about that either I wanted to add one more thing in this one the guy just kidnapped them. He didn’t molest the boy original story that I believe is to be based on that took place in the 1980s young boy in question he escaped with the younger one like this, but not in the same way in that case, the man molested him and he was raped by men and women like this story the boy managed to escape with the younger boy.
This is so sad to hear! I don't want to believe people like those roam the earth freely despite all the ugly things they do! God please be with us!
@@ManMadeTv The boy in question was very lucky because he lived to tell the tail as it were I remember his story because at about that time and the state I was in there were three little girls who went missing and all three did not live to tell the tail and I remember their names as well. I was a teenager at the time, there was only one case and the reason the boy lived to tell the tail was his friend who was taken with him, convinced him to make a run for it while he kept the guy occupied in that case they had to bring in he was a big Hollywood star at the time Mr. T because the boy was so scared that Mr. T promised he would be there every step of the way and he kept that promise. I often wonder how that kid is doing now because I know how hard it was for him to testify against his kidnapper. Yes, evil people live in this world. I’m hoping with modern technology that it is making it harder for them to do what they do. God may be with us always but sometimes I think a little more hands-on would be better if you understand my meaning.
