    We are in az as well. We have a big dryer and a couple flashes running during the day and it gets hot up in the shop. We try to start early and leave early. We also just got a swap cooler that has vents just over the printing stations. It helps but both our dark room and washout room are like sweat rooms.

    Why did the color match it not work? I can tell you why. Pantone is not based on a color model so how can you match a color without a color model. But thank God you got lucky! And you right about primary colors.

    • @ThePrintLife
      @ThePrintLife  6 років тому

      as far as I know, They built the pigment system of the color model Pantone uses. When I mixed the darker purple it seemed to get real close. So I have high hopes for the system.

    • @advancedtshirts
      @advancedtshirts 6 років тому +1

      Pantone is not a color model it is color matching system with numerical values and names give to the colors. So it just just spot color system which is why you will not find it in the color models of the graphics applications. You will only find it as list of spot colors to choose from.

    • @WyndellEarles
      @WyndellEarles 5 років тому +1

      I realize this is an older post but I just wanted to comment on it. Whenever you use transparent white, ALWAYS mix your primarily colors first and then add to the transparent white. You can measure the primary colors separately from the trans white. Also, if you convert the percentages to grams, you can set your scale to grams and it works out perfectly. Those Pantone formulas are not forgiving. I’ve been printing for 30 years and have mixed hundreds of pounds of ink colors. Your posts are fantastic! Keep up the great work.

    Cam, my shop just started using the adhesive glue to put on platens so we don’t deal with all the particles getting in our lungs from the spray adhesive. The glue adhesive is not keep the platens sticky for very long. How do you keep the platens sticky or do you have to keep re-applying the glue adhesive? Thanks

    • @UFF-ChadHolcombe
      @UFF-ChadHolcombe 6 років тому +1

      Joshua Hayden At our ship we can generally print several hundred shirts before needing to reapply. We usually clean the pallets and apply the water based adhesive in the morning and are good to go for the day unless we have a ton going down that day or are Printing on fleece.

    • @joshuahayden784
      @joshuahayden784 6 років тому +1

      xcellentgraphics is the water based adhesive something sold separately? Or can we just use normal tap water?

    • @UFF-ChadHolcombe
      @UFF-ChadHolcombe 6 років тому +1

      Na. That’s what you are using is water based adhesive. Sometimes if your lint buildup is t too bad later in the day you can take and spray some water on the pallets and send to the flash and it will bring back some tackiness as well.

    • @joshuahayden784

    Hey Cam Awesome video! I've had that happen with the ink spot drying in the screen during production it's pretty annoying. If you use a pump up water spray bottle used for gardening you can get those out. Or if you clean the screen and use some water-based screen cleaner with a paper towel it seems to work well. This way you don't need to remake the entire screen.
