Recently, my daughter had a miscarriage. She should have had a D&C. She had to suffer for weeks on antibiotics and prayers that she would be okay. She lives in Texas. Doctors could not help.

There is a reason why we wait until after the first trimester to tell our families we are pregnant, and that reason is because the first trimester is extremely difficult for healthy implantation. If it is successful than yay! But if not, and we miscarriage, we must have an abortion to clean the uterus and hopefully be ok for another pregnancy. My goodness people, be sane in this topic. Abortion is women’s health!

They were pregnant at same time and lost them 2 weeks apart, very ironic but it happened. I had a miscarriage in 2020 and had to have the same emergency procedure they are banning to save my life! We wanted to try again this year but I am devastated knowing I won’t become a mother by bearing children because I can’t take this risk of this same complication and not being able to get the emergency help. Fetuses are not recognized to have social security numbers and as long as they're in the womb they're not independent human beings. They cannot survive outside the womb until they reach term so people shouldn't be classifying as such. Your beliefs are your beliefs and you have the right to them but what no one seems to understand is that your rights and beliefs ends where someone else's begins. You can't use your rights and beliefs to violate others. If you don't like abortions then you never have to get one. I watched that interview with the woman pregnant with twins who had to have a selective reduction to keep the healthy twin and the mother alive. She was forced to go to California to have the procedure done. It was an out of network practice so the parents were stuck with a $7,000 out of pocket bill. Imagine, in addition to the heartbreak of losing one of your children in this way, if you did not have the resources to go and do that. These Arizona Congress goons are despicable.

Abortions should be free, state-funded, on demand, and for any reason, at ANY time during pregnancy.
Rape and incest exceptions were used to get us where we are. One reason for wanting an abortion is not more valid than another. Abortion should be legal without needing to give a reason. Plus, to have these exceptions you have to prove it. Even need to proving an abortion is a needed for a medical emergency can be difficult as we saw in Texas.
We should also reject Alyssa's framing. The way she asked that question to "clarify" her position on "abortions past viablility" was a trap. It's used to exploit voters who aren't knowledgeable on the topic. To scare them into thinking that some women may abort a healthy late-term fetus. Thus giving Republicans a false moral high ground. I'm glad the governor didn't fall for it.

For those of you that live in Arizona, think about this because it's coming. The 4th largest industry in AZ is tourism and hospitality. How long before people cancel their vacations/conventions here because someone is pregnant and doesn't want to be in a state where they can't get healthcare should something go wrong? My newly pregnant niece has already cancelled a planned visit here. I only point this out since money talks to Republican leaders. I realize there is more to this than money.
