I was quite excited to finally pick these up. Have you tried either one of these? Or the Pilot Vanishing point, which is what these are attempting to copy, I don't have one of those so I wasn't able to compare how much better the real deal is.
It is unfortunate for sure, mine ended up developing hairline cracks while working on my next video. The A1 is still going strong and has been used roughly the same amount.
I may know why your A2’s threads sometimes skip: The body is cracked at the threads. It’s visible in this video at about the 39.5 second mark. Makes me think the A1 will be more durable.
The A1 definitely more durable I made a YT short showing the cracks on my A2 after they became more obvious as at the time of this video I hadn't noticed them. It is unfortunate because otherwise the A2 would be a fine pen.
Thanks for the review. I just bought the A2 and it would not write.. the A1 I had works great. Btw if you are going to show your hands in a video you might want to clean your nails, Ugg.
Bummer to hear the a2 you got wouldn't write. Mine developed cracks where the two halves thread together. The inside baseball is I typically work on these videos after getting home from work at 3am. US postal service the mail is absolutely filthy, I wear gloves the whole night and have washed up multiple times before I record. I will attempt to keep it in mind however.
Be very careful with them. Their quality control isn't the best in this case (though i have several other chinese pens that I'm more than happy with). The spring is wedged in in a particular way and mine popped out. No problem, i thought, I'll just pop it back in. Nope, the damn thing wouldnt stay in place once dislodged. I had the A1 3 days before i returned it. Pity because i did enjoy using it.

I wish majohn had put a metal collar on the A2. This was a known problem of the vintage capless pens that this one is based on.

I'll keep an eye on them so far haven't run into that only the plastic threads skipping on the barrel of the A2.
