Start off with a personal account and see how many sales you make each month for a few months, if you can't consistently earn more than the cost of a shop subscription it's not worth getting one
Hey hey! Thanks for all the info you none King EBay king! Could you talk a little about postage outside the uk please. I tried looking at it and it was too much for my ADHD brain - baaaaaaaah 😂
Just a quick question I’ve actually got my own business reselling I do my own account can I ask how do you log your carboot purchases when it comes to expenses? I just keep a log of all I have purchased with the price next to each item. Just wondering just in case the taxman pay me a visit!!!
do not get a business account at first, you can always upgrade to a business account but i read that you cant go back to a normal seller account (which sounds stupid)
actually you do not need a business account when you sell goods for profit, i personally rang ebay and spoke to them about this, they said that i do need to be tax registered with the inland revenue though.
@@RickyResells yeah, i pay higher fees and although i do not like extra bills in hindsight, i would prefer to have a business account as i can never be a top rated seller for example as a private seller, but my store got to big before i was ready to make the move over to business and now i am stuck with the private account. i am good though, i would say the lack of protections on the private account is by far the worst thing, ie, not being able to give 50% refunds when the buyer scams you especially for brand new items.
It's not related to ebay. More HMRC and applies to any income from "trading" (buying something to sell on for profit). if your income is less that £1000 in a financial year from casual selling then you don't need to declare this. If you income is more then you do. If you're just selling your own personal possessions then you don't need to declare anything
With the talk about going from personal to business on ebay, I have a question. Obviously it's free to list on personal account, do you pay insertion fees on a business account and does that fee get charged everytime the item relists if it doesn't sell?
started my ebay again after almost a year off & i cant belive i ever stopped tbh Also tax wise what do you do & how much should i put aside each week when i withdraw money for tax?
Ha ha ha! "Move moody moody me"! 😅 It reminds me when my menopause attacks me 😂😂 and wants part of me to rest 😊 and the best thing is to rest lol Then, I am me again 😊. Your shop seems more containable and you consistently are doing well. 🎉 Anyway, sometimes it is good to listen to "moody me" maybe needs something 😅 Regards

Yo yo, you probably already know this but thought I’d just let you know incase. Your eBay doesn’t send to Northern Ireland. Just wondering why? Cheers
Because I use Evri and they sting ya. I am going to start changing postage options soon again though.
@@RickyResells oh yea!! I forgot, cause used evri before but they put their prices up for Northern Ireland. I use yodel now.
Does Ebay monitor how much you list >I mean in general? Does it mean you gotto pay tax with a buisness account..?

Yeah, you can go back to a personal, but I believe only once.
Stop bullying sad Ricky, happy Ricky 😂
I needed him. It’s okay 😅

Absolutely, but there are features with business accounts that you don’t have with personal so it depends what you need

The thing with EBay selling that confuses me is the tax issue. The entire £1000 limit.

@Jon-jx2xw is that in sales or profit though? as I have done over 1k in sales but my profit margin ain't great

You can pay monthly for a shop which gives you set number of listing for free. Cheapest one is 250 listings for 32.50 per month
Where can I find your vinted store?
