- After being away for a couple days, my cabin got snowed in and the temperature plummeted. This is what it's like to arrive at the cabin at night after a major snow storm when its below zero degrees. Join me for a day in the life of Alaska cabin living with shoveling, cooking, and even a visit from a very special guest @TruckHouseLife *All the music was written and recorded specifically for this video by myself and Forest Wilson...I hope you enjoy! @Forest Wilson Guitarist

Good call Karen! I just need a nice wood one to go with the cabin vibe. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for actually talking and explaining what you are doing. Am not real fond of the videos like these where you are just watching someone, but he doesnt say anything. Thanks, again.
You have excellent cinematography, especially for a new channel. Keep up the good work.
Thank you John, I'm working hard and learning a lot as I go.

You seem like a good guy and we would love to see a hundred more videos! Thanks
Working on it!
Im 49 and live in the lower 48 states, I love to hunt and fish. I have got it in my head to buy some land in Alaska and build a cabin there over the next few years until I am ready to retire. So watching these videos, its nice to see just casual everyday things like this.
Nice! Glad you enjoyed it and Thanks for watching!
plays guitar in the cold the whole time...amazing :)
🎵
What a lovely cabin! I'd love to own one some day. I'm impressed you're new to UA-cam - great video and you seem like a natural talking to the camera
Why thank you! This is a brand new channel on UA-cam, however, I secretly have other channels from many years ago that were Alaska adventure based...sshhhh ; )

Appreciate my fiend, I’ll keep it up for sure, just got a new camera and other things to make my videos all that much better.

I hope you can still enjoy with the music. Thanks for watching!
New subscriber, thanks for sharing.
Welcome to the channel Kevin!
living the dream-great video
Thank you!
Amazing Matt, sister teach you how to cook😊
You can try an extended run gas cap on that yamaha and connect to a 6 gallon boat gas tank. It works on hondas for sure. This way you dont run out of fuel over night.
Good tip! I have one of those caps but I am afraid Id spend double on gas haha. Thanks for watching!
My bucket list is to one day stay in a snow filled cabin. Looks like a great time, lots of work to maintain that property. Y'all stay warm and safe out there.🇨🇱🙏🤗🇨🇱
Keep doing your thing man. As a Florida boy, I find it fascinating.
Dude, I love the feeling of coming down stairs in the morning. It's cold asf and I need to get the place warm. I have done this for decades. It's the best feeling
This is better than watching Christmas Movies
I like your video I’ll keep watching you’re pretty funny guy I like that😅
😄thanks laurel!
It’s fun watching the cabin life. Have a great Holiday and I joy your family.🎅🏻🇺🇸

Nicely done, if only they really knew what we were up to that weekend bahahaha
👀👀
🫣😆
I envy you. Man always wanted an off grid cabin
that's allot of shoveling! I would use a plow or snow blower!
Amen!
Where is Norm ??? Miss him , you have a great dog !!!! Your cabin and music is wonderful!!!
great video, i like it. best regards from germany
Thank you so much!
Good stuff so far
Thanks!
Never thought I'd type this about another man...you are an absolute gem!
Thank you for your videos - it really keeps my hopes alive of getting a cabin in the future.
Thanks again!
nice neighbor
Indeed!
I think you may find the propane wall mount heater that has ceramic tiles to be more efficient. Open blue flame uses a lot of propane and doesn’t heat as well as the tiles. That was my experience anyway..here in Northern Central Maine. Damn cold here in winter!!
Good advice, Thanks!
Hey, fellow Mainiac.
@@juditate111 Hello! What part of Maine do you hail from?
keep on doing what you do...excellent videos...great sound track
Have you thought about laying a fire before you leave, just get it ready so all you have to do is strike a match when you return. We heated our home for years with just a wood stove, we would lay the fire before we left for the day and it was a quick light to get it going.
Yes but it gets too cold if you let the fire die out when its -20. Thanks for watching!
Handy tip for the stove...light it from the top... let the fire prgress downwards ..small logs on bottom, kindling on them, birch bark on top. Just light the bark and she'll burn down faster than a typical pyramid lit at bottom which is best for open ventilation fires 🔥👍
Yeah, I’ve switched to that method most of the time now, just depends on my mood haha. Thanks!
Enjoyed your video looking forward to more
Thank you, more on the way!
Your channel just popped up on my feed. Just binged watched all the videos so far. Love the content! Keep them coming. Thanks, Big Jon from Indiana.

Well 2 months later your at 15k good job!
I can't believe it...Thank you very much!
What a great neighbor. I just came across your channel tonight and i really enjoyed the content .
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Love your videos! Keep up the good work! Maybe look into an auxiliary gas tank for the generator. I know they make an adapter for the Honda generators, I’m sure they make one for the Yamahas also. Just hooks up to a boat gas tank essentially and extends the tank size by a lot. Just a thought!
Hey, thank you!! Funny enough I do have one of the auxiliary gas caps that essentially pulls gas in from a bigger tank. I have been tempted to use it, but afraid I would burn through twice as much gas since I often let the generator die for hours at a time, to enjoy the silence and darkness though, however, after this weekend I’m beginning to think I need to hook one up 😂. You here in Alaska?
Nice vedio. Love frm India.
India? Amazing! Thanks for watching.
Enjoyed the setting. Looking forward to more.
Thanks Kathy, more on the way!

Thank you!
Congrats on the first 1000 subs! 👏Thanks for your lovely vid😊
Thanks Lidija, you were one of the early ones! Hope you liked the video!
Before you leave your cabin, make that fire and have it ready to go. Put matches or something so somebody can light the fire with frozen hands. That could be you or it could be somebody else in an emergency situation.
You are spot on! I usually do exactly that, except when it is -20° I don’t have the luxury of letting the fire die out before I leave. Otherwise, it would be much too cold. Thanks for watching! I appreciate the feedback!
@@alaskacabinadventures Even in -20, you could still sweep the remains of the fire into a steel bucket, spray a little water into the grate to extinguish lingering sparks and then build the fire before you open the door to dump the fire remnants and let the cold in.
🇬🇧👍🏻🤘🤠nice Matt good to see the arrival prep after you have been away, cool neighbor 😊coffee with Timmy yo Duders! Coffee time 😂🤔can smell the cooking boys! Stay safe and well duder s 🇬🇧🤘👍🏻🤠Overland Dave, great hitting 1k well deserved ☝️🤩I’m still on 80 😞🤠🇬🇧but keep trying ☝️

Glad to hear it! Thanks Barry!
just found ya,love it!
Welcome!
I dont want to scare you but the flashover temp for gasoline per CFRegs is about 73 degrees F. I know it sounds crazy but so many people suffer injury refueling all types of gasoline engines while they are hot! Love the channel. Just beware and self-conscience of the dangers.
Much appreciated! That is a valid comment and I do need to be more mindful of that. Thanks!
Cool. Barrow can get bad weather also. 👍👍
No kidding! haha Thanks for watching.
Awesome cabin I hope you and your subscriber's are all okay and this Storm 💕
Thank you Karen, it sure is stacking up deep!
