This has got to be my the figure I’ve been most excited for, I love this version of goblin and it definitely makes me feel all sorts of nostalgia from the original Spider-Man movie

Hot Toys really outdid themselves with this figure. The glider looked absolutely phenomenal, and the adjustable eyes were such an amazing detail to add. I'll admit, the back of the maskless head sculpt really gave me a small ick because it just looked so weak, almost as if it was just barely holding itself up. The pumpkin bombs were such a good detail to add as well. I honestly believe that the next Green Goblin figure is gonna be the superior one since it's coming with more accessories, an updated look, and other new aspects. I also think you could really take advantage of having both because if you wanted to display this Green Goblin with a few blades, or the other Green Goblin with the mask then it would absolutely work and work well seeing as how they are the same character 😭. Amazing review today, Justin. Looking forward to the next one!

Bloody amazing, just incredible, im glad they did this suit! And did it good! Although that purple color shift would've been really nice, im almost certain that its all green in no way home, can't wait for the other version!

This figure is seriously doing bits for my inner child. I used to have so many figures from the original trilogy, including the Mary Jane parade scene. Low key hoping we get a 3rd party MJ if HT doesn’t make one, with the red dress and maybe some stone debris. That would be ideal to recreate their debut clash from the first film!

Toys Era Green Goblin is the 2002 Goblin and the Hot Toys one is the No Way Home version. Same with the glider. They are a bit different in each movie.

I'm less excited for the figure itself and more so excited to see that iconic mask paired with the updated suit. Gonna look so damn cool.
Also apart from the color which yeah, it looks a bit too dull. The mask is all wrong. Despite this being BASICALLY the same design from 2002, they did change a number of things for the new one. The forehead is shorter but wider, the mouth section has a smaller gap, the brows above the eyes are more mean looking, the lines are sharper and less round. The mask is also more pointy (from top to bottom). But this may be due to the wider forehead. It's subtle but it looks so much better than the 2002 mask, and I don't think they really captured that here. But that's like a super personal gripe. It's really good

Green Goblin's body looks like a TDKR body without the intricate design & without the Iconic 🦇 emblem. & without the spikes in the gauntlets.

The head sculpt is good, but its obvious it was made for the other goblin because it's inaccurate to the scene were his hair was slick back not split and he was never smiling and he was in normal mode and goblin was in the helmet

Moving eyes really elevate a head sculpt. This one reminds me so much of the DX08 Jack Nicholson Joker. Tilt the eyes down and the head back, he looks insane! Tilt the eyes up and the head down, he looks evil and menacing just like this one!
They make such a massive difference I struggle to put it into words!
He’s truly amazing. So much nostalgia, I have him displayed on his glider next to ock. Just need that Tobey now! Cheers

Pretty Totally Badass, Hot Toys Green Goblin! I really love the Green Goblin's Outfit, Glider, and Accessories included. Hot Toys definitely Killed it. Ah man this was another review I’ve been eagerly awaiting did it disappoint? Absolutely not and that head sculpt I have to agree Justin easily one of hot toys best. The shade of green I felt was very slightly off especially after i saw the comparison with the toys era version but still easily one of the best releases of this year so far. Great review thanks for sharing Justin

I love This figure. My only complaint was the extra fabric on the ankles came bunched up in my figure so it already had a crease through the material in the ankles. It’s hard to see from far away but I hope it doesn’t affect it long term

The dilemma I have is that I like both versions.. the thing is that I don’t need them both.. so maybe I need to wait till I see your comparison between the two versions when the other goblin will become available 🤔
Toys Era is way more accurate to the Raimi film design, for me that was the real goblin with the elongated helmet, also NWHs design is a bit funky and less menacing, something about the toys era screams creepy! Also the NWH Glider design is way different to the raimi movies, I waited for reviews for HT one and after some though I went ahead with the Toys Era 1 cause I liked Raimi design.

I don't know if anyone's said this yet, but the lack of purple paint on Gobby, while it isn't accurate to the 2002 movie, it IS accurate to No Way Home! Although I do think I prefer the purple on him rather than just the metallic green.

The old helmet just bothered me a little, something about the jaw to the ears was too far apart, but this one is waaaaay better looking! This was my Spiderman too growing up, and still is even if the 3rd is goofy.

The head sculpt is good but imo not great. I think he should have a more furrowed brow. Also his hair should be slicked back I believe. Hot toys just wanted to reuse the sculpt with the other no way home appearance.

The headsculpt is too good to not use. Plan to make a custom of when he wore a hoodie/sweats and fought Spiderman in the apartments.

No Way Home did an excellent upgrade to the goblin costume. They added a ton of purple with the tattered hoodie and let out the amazing face of Willem Dafoe. The Raimi original is iconic in it's own way, but even though the shapes and materials are all very intricate and interesting to look at up close, in the flat lighting of the first movie he just looks like a big green dope. He having the hot toys figure standing in the light box looks more interesting than he ever did in the first movie, you can really see the shapes and how shiny the automotive metallic paint is. Not a bad design at all, but it was poorly photographed in the movie and needed a lot more purple.
Agreed adding the purple was a nice touch!
What are your thoughts with using him with the glider? He probably can't be in a leg bending possition for long without risking damage. Looks like the armor plate digs into the pelvis even with a slight bend.

this is very cool! but i don't like the paintjob, the metallic color should be green and a combination of purple after being exposed to light. like what you saw in the 2002 spiderman movie.

I had the option to purchase this version but I passed on it because of the screen printed outfit. I though they should have done it more as an armor like the ironman figures. The screen printing is probably fast and cheap but I'm concerned about sticking and peeling. Having a fully armorized figure would be awesome.
Not sure that would have worked this is how they made the actual suit for the most part

The chameleon paint is very expensive which is most likely why they didn't use it. Would have been nice though.
I must be in the minority because I dont see huge differences with the Toys Era one besides the glider. The Toys Era has better and easier posing imo. I wish HT made the glider easier to turn on.
