Tom Jones & Joe Cocker performing Delta Lady on TV Show This is Tom Jones in 1970.
Absolute legends, no computer generated shit, just pure soul.
Amen to that!❤
Every time Joe Cocker sang a cover a tune he sang it like he wrote it and made it his own , he was a fantastic one of a kind
Im pretty sure he wrote this one
@@marygonzalez5907 no Leon Russel wrote this
@@marygonzalez5907 No. Thanks for playing.
@@marygonzalez5907 Leon wrote this and arranged the live version of "The Letter" which should have sent Joe's career into outer orbit. He also penned "This Masquerade", "A Song For You" and "Superstar" just to reference his incredible songwriting ability and vastly underrated musical, arranging and production talents. Reading his biography that contains GREAT stories and insight surrounding the "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" experience and Joe's state of mind at the time. :)
As did Sir Tom Jones. Love both. Tom a hella lot more.
Tom polished and perfect, Joe just an absolute force of nature....... AMAZING!
That's so good,
Two totally different styles, go so great together. However every time I see Joe Cocker, I can't help but think of John Belushi's impression on SNL. LOL

If i could sing rock n roll i'd wanna sing like Joe Cocker. He absolutely pumps..!
They sound great together.
The contrast in styles is amazing, yet they can still harmonize together.
Love em ❤
Son de lo mejor!!!
I was noticing that. They hit a very strong chord together
I went to the doctors last week and told him that I couldn’t stop singing Tom Jones songs. He said “it’s not unusual”........
The Shootist -Shit,that was funny!I love Tom Jones and Joe!I love corny jokes too!
Flwrfan1 dad jokes rule 😂
WA HA HA! I GET IT! (Slapping knee)
@Zebra 12 😆😆
I told my Doctor I couldn’t stop singing like Joe Cocker. He said, “Perfect! Sing another chorus of Delta Lady...I need to check your Throat & your Tongue!”
You got Tom Jones and Joe cocker together you're talking about a lethal weapon.. wow amazing
Yea pretty cool. Could imagine a few more songs with the pair of them
Can u imagine if bieber was in the middle

Tom Jones had better musical guests back than any other variety show since.
Absolutely right.
Joe cocker , jerry Lee , ray charles , Stevie, Janis Joplin, dolly , little Richard , Wilson picket ..........8 off the top of my head . And Tom smoked it ... if u have kids ..... please please please show them all of these performances rather than som bullshit reality TV
he embraced the new young hip wave.
True 👍
Add Crosby,stills,Nash& young.
I was a teenager listening to these two at this time. I was in love with Sir Tom and his magnificent voice. Still am at age 71. I really thought back then that Joe Cocker had cerebral palsy! I loved his music, but his movements were so odd. Tom insisted he be able to choose his guests for his variety show, and he could sing any genre, any style with absolutely everyone. The 60s and 70s had the best musicians and vocalists....period.
It has been a perfect playing for me having a lovely and awesome Fan like you, thanks for your love, I have you mostly to be thankful for 🎻🌹🎻
that's hysterical about thinking Joe Cocker had cerebral palsy! poor Joe, he was just feeling his vibe.
Hello Angela how are you doing hopefully all is well with you and your family!!
@@clairwalshe8624 and LSD was a beautiful thing lol
I loved the guests that Tom Jones and Johnny Cash had on their shows. Tom really knew how to do duets with his eclectic guests. He's a total pro. I saw him in Las Vegas in the mid-1990's and his cover of "Kiss" was better than the Prince original!
Tom Jones should be in the Rock and Roll hall of fame!
Tom Jones is so good as a supporting singer. He never overshadows but adds so much.
Great commend. I agree absolutely.
Tom Jones is a genius!
Хотел бы я знать, кто рядом с Томом Джонсом мог бы быть на первом плане ?
@@Alexander_Zemsky👽
@@Alexander_Zemsky Точно!!!! НИКТО не может и рядом стоять с Томом Джонсом, даже Джо Кокер!
It's a shame we don't have great singers like this anymore.
We do - they play out at bars, music festivals, etc. Treat yourself to live music.
You obviously don't pay attention to new talent or some of the bands or artists from present years. You must only tune in to classic rock radio, and remain completely stuck in the 60s and 70s. That's unfortunate.
There isn't any new radio with any talent. It's not his fault you have to find a roach filled dive bar where weekend warriors perform between shifts at a warehouse.
@@logangodofcandy they aren't all like that...kind of narrow viewpoint, I would say. You need to ditch the candy and go out.
We do. You just don't listen to them. Why do we old people say this kind of stuff?
50 years ago and still cool, no synthesizers, and damn they can both move and sing like no tomorrow, good stuff...
It has been a perfect playing for me having a lovely and awesome Fan like you, thanks for your love, I have you mostly to be thankful for 🎻🌹🎻
But would anyone really want to move like Joe? Lol
I understand that he puts his whole body and soul into his performances, but damn if it doesn’t look like he’s have a seizure each and every time. Haha
@@tomjonesprivate4520I'm not saying Tom Jones didn't make this comment but be careful on what you believe because some people get off on lying
All these "singers"..that think they can sing best have a look here...no autotune here...pure vocal chords
Give it a rest. Sick of autotune comments already.
I get it but what would autotune do for Cocker?
@@TheDataMaestro I don't think he would have wanted it...natural singers don't need technical help..only the shite if today's music need it !
I'm sick of every fucking song on the radio having pitch correction software to thank for its existence.
People tell me that it's not a big deal but they're not thinking enough about how it's destroying Humanity.
Right now there's a 14 year old vocal phenomenon, who will never come to realize his talents because he lives in a world where everything he hears on the radio is fake and absolutely impossible for humans to achieve.
From social media to the radio dial, technology has taken the human out of humanity.
@@robertdevoy3119 fuck auto tune. Cry more.
Missing Joe. He gave it his all.

Joe vocals shine in hearing this song. Tom’s are good but Joe’s by far way better. Just my opinion. Thanks for sharing this video. 👍🏼
@@joey0077d yes for this style of music joe voice is súper
So lucky to have seen Joe live. He was in his 60s and performed at my work. I'll never forget the gravelly yell from when the night comes. So much emotion
Cannot get charisma, talent and innocence like this anymore.

Hello how are you doing
@@mikewilliams8196 good, thank you
Innocence lol don't know about that.
@@fender1000100 That was my thought as well.
Holy shit - never seen this before. 2 of the greatest voices of all time. Legends both
Tom Jones the epitome of cool and Joe Cocker spasming all over the place. Both with a tremendous set of pipes!
Tom Jones has one of the best powerful vocals ever! The man kills it!!
He sure does! He can really just do anything.
Still an excellent singer in his 80's now.
I first saw Tom Jones in a theatre club in England. I was 19 years old and he was about the same. He'd just made his first record. He came on stage on blew the roof off, Power, soul, drama his voice had it all. I saw Joe Cocker in Perth Australia when he was about 60 ish and he could still show today's vocalists how its done. Power, soul, drama. I'm gonna miss Joe, RIP
Joe didn’t do so bad either 🤷♀️
Joe can play the guitar, bass, keyboard and drums all at the same time.
Amazing!
I watched Tom Jones show and feed my new baby, baby is now 54yr
Great song written by the great Leon Russell. Two great performers. Joe is definitely a legend!!
That's Leon playing keyboards.
Al of us fans are so lucky to still have one of them🖐🏼🧑🏽👍
Leon Russel was good too
Didn't know Leon Russell wrote this!! but, should have.
@@santobrocato8012 No, it's Chris Stainton. This is the Grease Band.
Oh the amazing Joe Cocker. Most passionate performer ever. These two are great together.

He died of lung cancer. Who else is watching this wonderful show
On December 7th 2022 the best music of all time.
That voice, the moves and the look - Tom Jones has it all. I saw him in concert several years ago and he was captivating. Did not need distractions such as flashing lights, dancers or stunts because he was all the concertgoers needed to see and hear.
Oh. Two legends! I loved hím. RIP Joe Cocker.
And a 3rd legend playing the keys in the background, Leon Russell who wrote this wonderful song.
@@brianmiller6055 - Leon did write this song but that’s Chris Stainton on Keys. The Grease Band.
@@roseblake5803 I stand corrected, but in the shadows he bears a strong resemblance to Leon. Plus Leon would have most likely worn the top hat he was so fond of during that time frame. Thanks for setting me straight.

Very honest and realistic too. Someone recently asked Tom why he doesn’t use the same moves, his answer was “at my age that would be silly”
Even at his age can still beat those a third has age
Ministry of Silly Walks.... Oh. Sorryw
Silly!!??...tell that to the still great and entertaining Mick Jagger...Tom should do the same...
Could be his hip replacement surgeries more than looking silly , I’d say.
Joes dancing kills me everytime😂😂
Epileptic style. ))
Two titans of singing dexterity, soaring like Hercules in a rapture of orgasmic vocal delight. In a word: stunning.
i still maintain, tom can sing WELL with ANYONE!
Two guys who could care less what you think of them. And they are loved for it.
Could 'not' care less.
@@YorkyOne That would require a basic understanding of English.
My mother was in love with Tom Jones. (Everyone’s mother)
I heard Tom Jones and Joe Crocker before seeing them. Love them both. My kids see why.
You scared me for a second. I thought you were going to say that your mother was in love with Joe! ;)
Mine was in love with Engelbert Humperdinck aka 'The Hump'.
Those were singers! Unfortunately today we don't have such great artists and songs.Today music is in a really poor condition above all as compared to these Giants!I want to cry! That golden age will never come back again!
Tom still has that fabulous voice

The Inquisitor : It’s called sarcasm. I.m.o Joe has always sounded like a corps.
@@ArkyMalarkey I bet you sound like an ass tuba.
Tim Hoover : And I bet you're an expert on the subject...
Yes yes yes...just richer
I think the music is running through Joe's body.....he can sense every note. Tom was one of my favorites in the late 60's with my teen friends.
And don't forget our mothers! My mom love her some Tom Jones!
Every time I see a video of Joe Cocker singing I can't help but think of the classic Saturday Night Live skit that John Belushi did imitating Cocker.... I laugh my ass off...

You are so right....an absolute classic skit, one for all ages....killed me and still does to this day thanks to YT.
Every time! Lmao
One of the funniest bits ever on that show....
Watched a documentary on Joe a few years ago and fell in love with him , what a performer and singer but very shy guy , he eventually found peace in nature and the great outdoors. RIP Joe you will be truly missed. Can't miss out the great Tom Jones either , another legend in his own right .
If I recall he lived in Colorado for many years
@@jennifersman7990 That's correct he spent a lot of his time out walking and exploring the desert and mountains. He enjoyed his own company and was at peace .
Two of the greats that we might never see again. The memories are endless and great.
Joe passed a few years ago
what do you mean 'might' never see again man? of course we wont. Its all over
2 guys I didn't care for in their time . But have grown to appreciate later on . Incredible voices . No one can hold a candle to that vocal power today .
Bud Lee , l think Tom Jones would have benefitted from being part of a band. He performs better when pushed a little by those around him( in my observation). This formula worked so well for The Beatles!
Same here, but now when I listen to them I'm always asking myself why didn't I like these guys years ago.
Thank you Mr. Jones for all the great music and memories. God bless you sir. I hope you’re doing well.
Went to Tom concert couple of years ago here in Rome. The voice was still amazing but he could hardly move on the stage and that was too pity for such a showman...
Rip Jo, you too had an incredible voice that would stand among thousands
Absolutely brilliant singing, both 100% but also in appearance,Joe Sheffield rugged gritty ,Welshman Tom smart, tidy , but both immaculate in sound, tone and range,,
Man, Tom has real, real, real, pipes (and I say that as a huge Cocker fan).

Both have a unique distinctive voice of their own to create this amazing beautiful piece of art !!
What a great performance by two legendary artists.
Believe it or not, the harmonies were great.
I had no clue they sang together. I'm so happy right now!
A oui,ça sonne années 70.

I was fortunate enough to see Tom Jones and Joe Cocker in concert in Atlanta nack in 2000’’s
Just absolutely insane. It just leaves you wanting more. Legends. RIP Joe.

Check out Tom’s CD “Praise and Blame.” He did one of those songs on Letterman. It was different but very Tom.
Debra, this one with CSNY became my fav. collaborations of all time. Tom wailed it out of the park. ua-cam.com/video/dIDzA0YDso8/v-deo.html
All of them excelled.
Hello Debra how are you doing!!
My Mom never sat down in fact I think the only time she ever did for any length of time was when Tom Jones was on and she never missed a beat. I think my Dad was getting a tad bit jealous. Memories forever….,,,,
Two legends of the best songs of this world. Amazing performance of both in this video.
Put simply,an absolute pleasure to witness such a duo.Thank you for the upload .
Two of the greatest singers and performers of all TIME
Very happy to say i was a youngster and lived though this greatness.
The good ole days were for real
Joe Cocker invented the air guitar.🎵
I love this for so many reasons, not least that for the first time ever I actually understood the words...😂Thank you Tom !. That Joe, such a talent and kind man, was as always swept away by the ecstasy and joy of the music and because once again, we see the phenomenal talent and professional graciousness of Tom Jones. 👏❤👌
Oh my... that’s incomparable! I can’t stop smiling!!!!!😃 these two together is just something incredible! How is that possible I haven’t seen this before?! Now I can say this year was not wasted😊
I remember watching this. My parents asked me what was wrong with me? Truth is I have a great administration for these 2. Tom Jones, a legend no doubt. But Joe Cocker,..... He was a artist that could sing the phone book and get a standing ovation. I watch Across The Universe quite frequently. Those are the songs I grew up with. God bless you Joe Cocker. May you always RIP 🙏
My parents probably would have asked me that same question lol
...and let's not forget the very talented back-up singers! Such a cool vibe.
Tom Jones, The King of The Duets!!!! Incredible!!!!!
Yes he is
How did I just now stumble across this? Joe Cocker was one of my all time favorite singers. Great performance by both of them.
It has been a perfect playing for me having a lovely and awesome Fan like you, thanks for your love, I have you mostly to be thankful for
This song, of course, was written by the great genius Leon Russell. If you’ve heard Leon’s version which he recorded in the 1970s, you will love it! Check it out. Also, I did not know that Tom was so hip. Man, he had so many people on the show that he sang duets with! Thank God for UA-cam!
I actually saw Joe and Leon together on the Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour. I just thought I was going to see Joe Cocker somewhere, I had no idea what we were getting into. Fantastic.
I actually didn't expect them to be so natural together, but it's a similar style with different vocal chords.
I saw Tom at Ceasars in the late 80s. Wasn't fortunate enough to see Joe. They're both amazing talents!
So killin it.I'd lose my mind without music.
I started listening to this with my earphone in and now my ear drums have burst 😂 Two great and powerful singers. Thanks for posting 🙂
I love Joe. Tom too, but Cocker was a revelation to me. He sounded so great with that gravelly voice.

2 great British legends. Rock in Peace Joe 🎧🎧☮️☮️🎸🎸💟💟💟🎶🎶✌️🔥👍💓😔😔😔😔
I love the way Joe's body moves when he feels the music. It's real neat and unique and just his own soul moving with his body to the music. Dig it.
never heard such harmonised growling ;) he compliments his guest so well in the duets
Two classic men. To all the negative commenters you’re obviously jealous.
A great example of contrasting styles blending...God Tom had - has - one of the great voices that just grab you the instant they open their mouth and sing
He is very good at duets with his guests - professionally adapted to Joe's style while still maintaining his own. Awesome
Wow this is what you call music just amazing,I can’t stop playing this, thank you
My mom had every Tom Jones record and played them all the time and everytime he was on TV, we all had to watch. She just adored him. My mother ended up with dementia later on in life and towards the end, we could get her to come back to us for a few moments when we would play anything Tom Jones. Music is much more then entertainment it can be quite magical. Thank you Tom Jones ❤️

That was a very Spirited Tom Jones...wow, what a wonderful version with the both of them really bringing it.

Crocker... I would rock out to this 40 years ago and thought this song was old then.. still a classic..
I remember watching this when it originally aired. I thought Tom Jones was pretty cool because he always invited a popular artist or band to perform one of their songs, and he would join in. A good sport indeed.
Superb authentic talent!! Great times Tom Jones gave me and my family growing up. My brother was a hippie and Joe was always on the turntable it was magical!!!
The juxtaposition of these two song stylists is quite unusual.
It's not unusual. ☺

I was lucky enough to get to see Tom in concert twice in Newcastle
And I was 9. Great family memories. Great times!! Miss these things sorely.
LOL this is great really two powerful and distinctive voices unable to overshadow the other so neither of them worry about it.
What a pivotal year, 1970. Lot’s of change, some good, some not so good. I’d like to do 1970 all over again.
Man what a great session. These two huh ? Good times...
Great Power & Soul right there! Wow, so much talent on that stage.
Wow over the years being a singer I have gained more and more respect for Joe Cocker...Jim Bellucci made him more known to me from SNL I see Joe really had some condition with his hands Jim was not acting...Tom Jones is to one of the most soul singers next to Joe that's the two strongest and most soul full guys side by side...thanks for sharing that was awesome piece

Joe Cocker becomes one with the music it takes over his whole being and body .He’s great. Tom jones well he’s marvellous too
Joe always looked like he was having a stroke when performing, but the boy had a voice. As for Tom, he is now 80 and still doing the musical deed. Few still alive can say they were friends with Sinatra, and are judging on a UK singing contest in 2020 with full mobility.
